General Updates

Short version: lots of publishing, no writing.

I’ve been eating too much sugar lately, which negatively impacts my sleep, and I really need to kick that to the curb again. However, that involves willpower which involved energy which I’m lacking because of poor sleep, and you see how things are

Contemporary Hollywood Romance Fan Kit Boxes!

Yay! So exciting. Inkprint Press’s next Kickstarter is live! The plan is to run these approximately every two month, alternating authors (so there should be three Fan Kit boxes from me per year).

This time, I’m hoping to create Fan Kit boxes for J.C. Nelson’s amazing sweet Hollywood romance, Stand-In Hearts!

The Fox Book boxes are going REALLY well – I’m packing them this week and then just waiting on the snack to tuck in when they arrive in 2 weeks (I had to change suppliers due to covid...

Made-It Monday: Ggggggraphics!

Welcome to #MadeItMonday, where I post something I’ve made in the previous week, and where you can join in and post something you made too! The rules are easy: post a pic somewhere of something you’ve made in the last week (ish; let’s say in the last month as the hard-and-fast) and tag it. Sit back and enjoy scrolling through all the beautiful things we’ve collectively created, and celebrate the fact that humans can be awesome!

Mostly been working on graphics this week, hurrah! I feel like I...

Adela never imagined her life would end here: alone in a filthy spare room with a bucket for a toilet after days on days of torture.

But she can wait a few days for her captors to tire of her—or she can save them the trouble. Not that they left anything for h...

The Internet Is Picking On Me* (*Not Really)

Waah, waaah, the internet is picking on me. Which is to say, a bunch of really smart people have offered really smart advice to whomever crosses their feeds generally, and it’s been so specific to the problems I’ve been having with writing lately that not only do I Feel Seen, I’m at the “I came out here to have a good time and now I’m feeling personally attacked” level of seen, ha.

So what’s the good advice?

Well, let’s start with this one, by Maggie Stiefvater.

Life-Changing Advice For Artists Of All Stripes (And Spots, And Zigzags)

As promised yesterday, the “The drawing advice that changed my life” video! Although he’s talking about drawing, the advice clearly applies to creative work of any kind – or even skills of any kind generally. Broadly applicable. Much advice. Such good. /nodnod.

What’s some good advice you’ve found on the internet? Doesn’t have to be recent, or even about creating – I’m just curious to know

A Fox Of Storms And Starlight Release Day :)

I had a different post scheduled for today, and then realised (only because I wrote it in my daily diary ages ago) that today is actually release day for A Fox of Storms And Starlight!

Six years ago, Mina saved a fox in the bush. As thunder growled and lightning flashed, she thought she saw… something.

Now, as graduation draws near and Mina plots her escape from backcountry Jilamatang to big-city Sydney, the town trembles. Two children, stolen from near their school. An elderly woman...
