Book Cover Reveal

Book cover release. I really love the artwork that accompanies theSha’Daaseries. It’s had some amazing stuff — a lot of which I’ve been a part of. And now, a word from one of my editors…

Book Bomb!

So Larry Correia book bombed me today as part of the Sad Puppies 3 slate (the Campbell Award for Best New Author), which was absolutely awesome. It’s really cool when someone of Larry’s caliber tells their fans “Hey, check these authors out too.”

Kaiju Apocalypse – Published 2014

The only downside (a minor one, to be sure) is he linked toKaiju Apocalypse, which — while not a bad book by far and is one of my highest sellers — it’s not the one I would have recommended to get a grasp of my style an...

The way a Book Bomb normally works is that we pick one good book worthy of more attention, which is available on Amazon, and then we get as many people as possible to buy it in...

Into the Mind of the Imaginary

I’m having some slight difficulties right now working through Kraken Mare. It’s not because I don’t get the story, because that’s pretty easy.

Supporting characters? Got those in spades.

Bad guy(s)? Oh yeah,covered.

Science? Science!

No, I think the reason I’m having difficulties right now is because I’m happy, and the protagonist of my story is not very happy at the beginning. He’s happy to have am exciting new job, but he carries a chip on his shoulder because he’s no longer doing what he loves...

The Pendulum Swings

You would think I would know better than to ask a small, insular, cliquish community “seriously, can you get any dumber?” You would think that, after a year of relentless attacks against my family and friends, I would know simply not to wonder how far these people will stoop. I need to quit being surprised. I need to quit being so calm about this.

Yesterday over at theOtherwhere Gazette,Pat Richardson penned a very insightful piece called “Not a Real Fan“. In the piece he details that though h...

I’ve been a huge slacker, but Barb hasn’t and remains awesome. Go check out her latest review over at SBR.

It’s Romance Saturday here at Shiny Book Review! And as it also happens to be Valentine’s Day, what could be better than Aaron Paul Lazar’s suspenseful romance DEVIL’S LAKE?

I’ve deliberately held Lazar’s romance for Valentine’s Day precisely because it’s the best romantic suspense novel I’ve read in quite some time. Twenty-something Porti...

Back to Writing

I typically don’t write on Saturdays. It’s usually my one day where I can sit back, play tanks, maybe some Civ5 or CivBE, and generally be lazy. It’s the only day That I remind myself that it’s my recharge day.

Which is why this morning’s little flurry of output was so strange.

This book (Kraken Mare)has grabbed me at long last, after fighting tooth and nail for the past two weeks with me. I see the entire story now, the antagonist isn’t just some faceless entity, and my protagonist is starting...

Book Release!

So when I predicted thatThe Hand of Godwould be released by the end of next week, what I really meant was by the end of this week. Lo and behold,The Hand of Godis now available on Kindle for only $3.99. This book is easily on par withMurder World: Kaiju Dawn, though it is much more military oriented and less kaiju (actually, zero kaiju are in this novel).

Buy it now and tell your friends. Because c’mon, with a title like that, we’re either ambitious as hell or really, really lame at coming up...
