Book Release!
So when I predicted thatThe Hand of Godwould be released by the end of next week, what I really meant was by the end of this week. Lo and behold,The Hand of Godis now available on Kindle for only $3.99. This book is easily on par withMurder World: Kaiju Dawn, though it is much more military oriented and less kaiju (actually, zero kaiju are in this novel).
Buy it now and tell your friends. Because c’mon, with a title like that, we’re either ambitious as hell or really, really lame at coming up...

Weirdness
I got my Hugo nominations in yesterday. I realized that I am very choosy when it comes to some things, like TV shows and short stories. Movies I can generally suffer through (I’ve got a track record of sitting through the worst freaking movies out there) but TV shows? If they’re boring, I fast forward (oh, and I watch all of my TV on Hulu). That being said, I still don’t think I have any desire to see Jupiter Ascending. The reviews have… not been kind.
I’m fairly certain thatThe Hand of Godwil...

Cover Release
Bringing us all back to the old school days of science fiction, the cover for my next book with Eric S. Brown has been released. This is just a preliminary cover, and I’m still waiting on the final, but I immediately thought “It’s an Asimov cover!” when I saw it.
So what do you think? Too retro, or just right?

Hugo Sad Puppies Slate
To all of you who have just discovered this place after seeing my name batted around on the internet yesterday and found yourselves asking “Who the hell is this guy?”, I welcome you. Keurig’s in the corner. Don’t touch my Sumatra.
Imagine my surprise yesterday upon waking up and discovering that I am on the Sad Puppies 3 slate for the Hugo Awards this year. Not for any ol’ novel, either, but for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Author which, to me, is the embodiment of the work I’ve don...

Free Stuff
Starting today, and running through this coming Thursday, The Dead of Babylonwill be on sale for free. Yeah, you read that right. Free. Which means… it’s not a sale, I’m giving it away.
Why? Why not? It’s a fun story that had sold decently well over on Amazon ($0.99 normally) so I figured that I should get it out there for everyone to read and enjoy.
I made a lot of progress on Kraken Mareyesterday, even if it meant I had to put the secondMurder Worldnovel on hold for now. That’s okay, it shoul...

Just a boring update…
I was on almost too late last night live tweeting the World Gaming League North American and watching fellow tankers blow each other up. Since I love World of Tanks and play just about every day (edit: if I have free time), I figured hanging out last night over on Twitch and watching my boys over at eLevate beat up their opponents would be worth it. Plus, since I plan on live streaming eventually, it’s always good to learn the tricks of the trade (as it were).
One thing I did notice, though, w...

Lots of Hate
I have one of those migraines everyone keeps going on about. Popped some Advil, so I hope that eventually it’ll go away and I can get to work. However, the lack of writing this morning is a boon for you, intrepid visitor (you’re not, uh, here by accident, right? This was all planned?). A boon for what, I don’t know. But it is a boon!
Boon:noun —1. a thing that is helpful or beneficial.
Hmm… I might want to rephrase that bit then, right? Nope! Too late! Muwahaha!
(no, I have not been drinking)
I’m...

Off With A Bang
So I’m finally moved into the new house and internet has been restored. However, there are still a ton of boxes to unpack (how did I accumulate this much crap?!) and bookshelves to purchase. I literally had over 20 good sized boxes packed with books and even putting paperbacks behind one another to save space on the tall bookshelf, I still ran out of room. I also want to get a futon for the office, in case someone comes over and wants to hang out.
I was really excited about what possibilities...

2014
So 2014 was a kaleidoscope, to be frank. There was so much good to counteract the bad that I was left with the sense of it being a balanced, yet colorful, year. I can wish for2015 to bebetter, but I wouldn’t complain too much if it stayed on par.
I lost friends this year, chief among those being C.J. Henderson and Ray Chatterjee. C.J. was a recent acquaintance, having met him only in 2013, but he was a fun guy and a reliable face and friend to have at unfamiliar conventions. If I ever felt lost...
