A Great Review of the Samsung NX1 Camera

Me and My NX1

All of the currentSamsung Imageloggers have received a new Samsung NX1.

Mine arrived the day before Thanksgiving and I was eager to start shooting with it as soon as I could.

So far, I’ve been very impressed with it, but I’ve got a lot more shooting to do with it before I can do a full review.

Thankfully the team over at DPReview made this video putting the camera through the paces out in the field where all reviews should be conducted.

Here are a couple of photos taken so far with the NX1. Many...

What Is Rucking?

What is Rucking

For the last few months, me and the family have found an exercise that we enjoy and it is called rucking.

Every time I share a status update, tweet or photo and use the term “rucking” or “going for a ruck” I get reactionsfrom people.

It has been funny how many people have asked me if I was making up the term or trying to force something new. Too few actually took the time to ask what it was.

The simplest definition I give people is:

Rucking – To put weight on your back and go for a walk. More weig...

States I’ve Visited

Yesterday, I kept seeing people share a graphic of the states they’ve visited. It got me wondering how many I had left to see and here is my map.

Sure, when I was younger we drove to Orlando for vacation, but I don’t remember anything more than passing through the Carolinas, so I didn’t check those off.

I knew that the Midwest was going to be a blank hole for me and I really need to do something about that.

Of course, Alaska sits there taunting me since it has always been at the top of my person...

A Day at the NFL Offices With the #VZWBuzz Team

Visiting the NFL Offices

I’m part of a group of online insiders that Verizon gives access to news, technology and experiences.

Last week a group of us from the east coast were treated to a day at the NFL Offices in New York City.

As a lifelong football fan, I was excited about the location. Granted, we got bumped to the basement for the day, but even there I couldn’t help but smile at the hallway outside of our room.

The day was to be filled with Verizon sharing the latest information on the new Droid Turbo, Galaxy Note...

How I Talk To My Kids About Peer Pressure

Mural

As a parent, I believe thatdealing with peer pressure is one of the hardest battles you have to fight. Especially since the truth is that no matter how old you get, you never escape it and that isn’t what your kids want to hear.

We’ve got two teenagers in my house and I’ve watched as peer pressure rears it’s ugly head from time to time.

I certainly don’t have all the answers, but when the National Education Association commissioned a post with my thoughts on the topic I couldn’t say no.

Don’t Ju...

GORUCK Light #507 – AAR – Boston – November 1, 2014

GORUCK will tell you that they are “building better Americans” and while that might sound like marketing spin to some, they mean it.

Over the years, their gear has served me well. I’ve become friends with Jason McCarthy and other members of the team. We are even doing some work together now, which feels really good and I hope we do more in the future.

But, until last week I didn’t fully understand what GORUCK was all about and why their events are a special kind of magic.

Three months earlier wh...

The Start of Something New

lifeistooshort

My career has been a whirlwind of following my heart, chasing dreams and always trying to do right by my clients/employers.

I’ve worked with amazing people, helped develop award winning campaigns and accomplished more than I ever thought possible after graduating from Bentley.

Over the course of the last thirty months, I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching. Hours of thinking about what was right for me, my family and the days ahead in my life.

Turning forty last year was a major milestone. The...

Life is busy. Life is blessed.

Busy, but blessed life

There are so many different things going on in my world right now, that I haven’t stopped to write about them in a while. If I ever needed proof that there are never enough days, hours or minutes to get everything I want to get done these past few weeks have reminded me.

While I plan on writing in depth about almost everything going on, I wanted to give a quick update as we end another month.

Yesterday, I got confirmation that I’ll be teaching a marketing class this spring at Bentley University...
