A New Dog Story Begins – Please Meet Nadia

We all know that every dog story ends the same way.

Last December, I had to say goodbye to my dear Roxie and our house has not felt the same without a dog in it since.

This weekend that absence went away as Nadia joined our family.

Nadia Chapman

Last weekI began getting the itch. The snow was melting and the days were getting warmer. The urge to be outside was getting stronger and with it came the urge to adopt another dog.

We will always adopt our pets. With so many cats and dogs being abandoned every da...

People Should Be Judged On Their Actions, Not Their Beliefs

With Indiana being the latest state to decide discrimination is ok, my mind has been running.

After reading Tim Cook’s great op-ed in the Washington Post, I felt I needed to share my thoughts.

I knew I’d have a hard time typing the proper words, so I hit record on my microphone instead so share my raw thoughts on Managing the Gray #145.

Give it a listen and then I’d love to hear your thoughts.

First Impressions of the FiOS Mobile App

Starry Night Airport Terminal

As an itinerant, hours spent in airports is a common part of my life.

Recently, I found myself alone at a gate early on a weekday morning waiting for others to arrive.

Still in the haze of waking up, I mindlessly watched the television that was cycling through the standard airport fare of news and travel information.

An ad rolled about a new show called The Wonder List that would be premiering on CNN. As a fan of Phillip Bloom’s work, I had been keeping an eye out for this show, but complete...

What Millennials Are Looking For In Presidential Candidates

NH Primary

I never thought I’d use Ted Cruz and Taylor Swift as examples in my online marketing course I teach at Bentley, but last night it happened.

After discussing the difference between smart and stupid brand management online, I thought it would be an interesting side topic to discuss the upcoming election.

This will be the first election with no incumbent for all of the students and at most only the second election that they’ve been able to vote in.

I set the ground rules that I didn’t want to d...

A Weekend in Wine Country Speaking at WTFconf

Nothing Goes Better With Wine Than Friends

When a friend asks for help, I do everything in my power to assist them.

So, when David Baeza asked me to be part of a new conference he was organizing I wanted to make it work. When I saw that he had asked several of our closest friends for the same favor and they had already said yes, I tried even harder to make it happen.

WTFconf stands for Wine, Technology and Food and David assembled a diverse group of speakers to enlighten and inspire the sold out audience.

Celebrating My Dad’s 60th Birthday in True Chapman Style

Poppa_Abe_Echo_Valley

Family is the most important thing in my world.

I’ll take quality time with those I love over almost anything else in the world and this past weekend certainly qualified as quality time.

My dad turned 60 and we made plans to spend it together as a family.

My youngest sister drove up from Maryland with her dog Bow, so all of the siblings were there.

I’m blessed that our family not only can spend time together, but genuinely enjoy it. We certainly made the most out of a gorgeous weekend by hea...

Spreading Social Good at SXSW 2015

Every March, a chunk of the Internet arrives in Austin, Texas for copious amounts of barbecue, frosty drinks and hopefully some mind expanding conversations.

I’ve certainly got older as SXSW has grown and every year I look at my experience with a fresh set of eyes, while remembering what it use to be like.

This year was different for me on all levels. I wasn’t just there as an attendee, but I was there with a campaign that I washelping execute and thus my time was limited for some of the hall...

Where to Find Me At SXSW 2015

I’m excited to share what Brad Powell and I have been working on under the Eco-Omni banner for the last few weeks.

We willbe spreading our love of all things social good and why it is important to us. The hope is also that we’ll find like-minded individuals and organizations who we can work with in the future.

I’m excited to share with you #SyncYourInk

The Sync Your Ink initiative is to empower socially conscious individuals to identify themselves to others through a piece of unique temporary bo...

Is It Ever Too Late For a Great Opportunity?

You never know when a door might open to a great opportunity.

I’ve heard “it is just too late” a few too many times over the past few days around looking for sponsors for something I’m working on during SXSW and I had to record a new episode of Managing the Gray to share my thoughts.

Hope to see you all at SXSW.
