Wolf Scent Rolling

Here are a couple of wolves upside down scent rolling.

If my standard poodles, or my Labrador retriever found something that smelled "nice"...something dead, yuck, they'd roll on it. Why would canines do this?

To take it home with them! To the pack. Yum. But of course if I thought something smelled nice--doggy shampoo, the poor dogs didn't, so as soon as they were dry, they'd let me know in a hurry that they had to go outside, and then? Try to roll it off so they could roll on a better scent...

Hmm-Hmm, Wolf!!

Okay, I admit it--I stole from Cheryl's blog, but the guy is a wolf, so he belongs with my other wolves. Don't you agree???

These are before and after pictures. Take your pick as to which is before and what is after!

I'm going to try to get the newsletter out today, although I'm really behind....*sigh*

So off to work on it then stick to writing Taming the Highland Wolf all day!!! They're making up the cover now! Can't wait to see it!!!

Did you know that curiosity is the sign of intelligence??? Ma...

The Accidental Highland Hero Review!

Woohoo, thanks so much, Mason, for a terrific review of The Accidental Highland Hero!!!

Yesterday, when I wasn't struggling to get my mower started--flat tires, dead battery, ran over my best hose once I was nearly done mowing, I was in a Scottish castle, and the Caledonian Forest and dealing with Highland wolfish hunks. Much more fun than trying to get my mower started, or, ahem, trying to cut away the ruined hose from the mower tractor blades.

What I would have loved would have been to be thi...

Beta Reader! From the Highlands!

[image error] I mentioned how I needed what we call in the publishing business, a beta reader to see if our work works. Well, I need a reader from the Highlands and Diva Donna had a most excellent idea! If Gerard Butler read it to make sure the dialogue worked, the book would be perfect. Now, there's a picture of him with his hand on Jennifer Aniston's butt:

I loved his cocky response. "I'm a bit ...

Spring for Wolves!

In my next story, Seduced by the Wolf, it's spring! Although the book will be coming out in summer. But it's getting closer!

But it's definitely spring here. From highs to colds. From dry to stormy. I'm sitting here crying. Not sad. Just from allergies. One of my co-workers was weeping the other day and I got the book drop outside so she wouldn't have to. And now...I'm crying. The last time I did this, I took allergy medicine, but then I felt like I was asleep on my feet. And yes, it was the n...

What Do You Enjoy in a Blog?

I'm at Casablanca talking about Wolfish Humor today!

http://casablancaauthors.blogspot.com/2010/04/wolfish-humor.html

People read blogs for lots of reasons: information, fun, to support friends...

What do you like to read about in a blog? What don't you like to read in a blog?

I love humor. I write more subtle humor, don't you think? It's real life stuff--like when Bella is stuck in the pen with a real wolf in Heart of the Wolf who's really interested in her. And when Faith finds herself locked o...

Does Size Matter?

I'm talking about hooking today. Titles can hook. Did this one hook you???

Does size matter? I look at these flowers and think how pretty they are, but are bigger flowers like hydrangeas better? More eye catching?

What about with stories. Do you like yours longer? Shorter? Magazine length? Novella? Novel? Super sized novel?

It depends for me. Sometimes I enjoy reading a magazine story, short, quick read, fun. But when I sit down to read a longer story, novellas don't do it for me. I want to read...

Happy Easter Sunday!

Okay, these wolves are thoroughly enjoying their Easter egg hunt!

I did some spring cleaning yesterday, so that was fun. I need to do a LOT more, but still I did do a LOT yesterday and there's something about cleaning out stuff that you don't need anymore that feels great!

I'm still behind on writing, although I wrote LOTS more. :) And I'm definitely less behind. :)

The newsletter is zipping on its way! And I received a lovely review at Lyra Roses blog for Heart of the Wolf today:

Happy Easter Weekend!

Hope everyone is having a super Easter! I've done a little spring cleaning, listening to an audio tape, having a hot cup of green tea, and writing blogs before it's time to get back to writing Taming the Highland Wolf.

Here's some more fun wolf Easter egg pictures. :) Hope you all are having as much fun this weekend! :)

Happy Easter weekend!
