Wicked Plants

This is pyracantha in the fall--the red berries attract numerous birds, including cardinals. They're beautiful and perfect for nesting. But, they also have tons of white flowers in the fall and attract butterflies and hornets! And they have long wicked thorns. Can you say beauty and the beast??? Wicked to mow around.

And they propagate all on their little own, so you can find them growing where you don't want them!

Do you have any plants like that? That are beautiful but wicked too?

:) Have a su...

Kilts on Skis

Okay, I really, really am working on Taming the Highland Wolf and just got my word count for last week. *sigh*

But my critique partner shared this on another blog, and I just had to steal her Scottish skier to show off here.

Which also ties into a true story at our library yesterday. Our associate director of the library came over and asked if we had chased off a kilt-wearing man in our library.

Now, my first thought was why the heck would we do that??? But then one of the ladies asked if he ha...

Publisher Weekly's Anniversary Party Postponed

Hi Everyone!

It's been a nightmarish weekend, between working and trying to get caught up on everything on Sunday, which I didn't do. And it's pouring out now and I've got to run to work...but I wanted to post a note about the Anniversary Party that was supposed to start today.

Barbara Vey's mother is dying of lung cancer and since I went through this with my mother, only it was breast cancer in my mother's case last year, my heart goes out to her.

Back in the Wilde and Woolly Bear Business!

Hmm, the busier I get, the busier I get!

I just received another order for a Texas Ranger Bear, though the one I'll make is for a blond bear.

And Violet bear shown down below needs a sash and hat, rather than a just a bow, so when they're done, I'll upload the current bear photos. :)

I'm off to work, but realized, the prolific blogger has to blog on two more regularly scheduled blogs and she has to go to work...which means dressing, *sigh* and all that stuff. :) And I still need to pass along th...

The Prolific Blogger Vanished!

Okay, I'm soooo far behind, today is my day off, and I have a million things I've got to get resolved today, when I SHOULD be writing!

And here I get the Prolific Blogger Award and vanish! LOL Although I did blog on Casablanca yesterday about International Woman's Day!

Anyway, I have a very PROLIFIC show vs tell class going on that I worked on lessons for until very late last night, and I need to get back to their work and do some more as I was getting cross-eyed last night--it's been great fun...

Prolific Blogger Award Post!

This is a Mexican gray wolf. :)

I should have gotten up like at 1 this morning to get everything done, but alas, I do have to sleep! Darn it! LOL

But I just wanted to drop in real quick and say that author Riley Quinn, who has a beautiful blog background that I want!!! Nominated me for Prolific Blogger Award. There's no cute picture to go along with this, so I will have to find something, but until then, here's the first part of the requirement:

More Bears and More Contests Coming Up!

Another bear order! This one is for a MacPherson Clan Bear! Got to love those Scots!!

And I'm coordinating a big party with Sourcebooks Casablanca authors with Barbara Vey's Publisher's Weekly 3rd annual bash--so I'll be sharing the link to that soon. Like last year, we'll all be giving away books, and we'll be sharing a recipe that will be worth a look see--tantalizing stuff to share with your own special someone.

Here is the list of participants so far!

Mary Margret Daughtridge
Linda Wisdom

Texas Belles!

Linda Warren author of hunky cowboys...hmm, I wonder about a hunky cowboy werewolf... ordered this Texas Belles bear for a basket of goodies giveaway!

Texas Belles is a one-of-a-kind bear that I thoroughly had fun making!

Isn't she adorable? And she's the reason it took me so long to get my post up this morning!

I had to finish embroidering her paws, and then it was time for pictures. She loves having her picture taken...publicity hound, you know. :)

Okay, I'm now off to work on Taming the...
