Buggy Stories???

I was having a discussion with a student about adding realism to a story. Bugs are everywhere. She mentioned a true life story about ticks in tall grass. That reminds me of Eastern Oklahoma and ticks and chiggers in the tall grass.
A fan who had read Legend of the White Wolf visited Maine in the summers and mentioned how bad the horseflies were. It brought back memories of the ones in Florida. And mosquitoes galore. And no-see-ums.
When I was researching Scotland, and this same fan mentioned th...

Heart of the Highland Wolf is Off!

Well, it's officially off!! Heart of the Highland Wolf is finished (until edits) and I just finished writing the essay for the nonfiction book on romance. But I'm waiting to hear if one more person has a story to share first before I send it off.
Then it's time to work on Dreaming of the Wolf. I"m hoping to get some written this weekend. I started one version, but not sure about it.
My daughter wants to go to the Renaissance Fair sometime this weekend, but ...

Do You Want a Man Who's a Wolf, or Will a Dog Do?

Ever hear that when you were growing up? If you make a face, it can freeze that way?
Can you imagine your face freezing if you wrinkled your nose like these wolves? Of course, seeing those wicked canines would really make you feel as though the "face" made would give the recipients of the expression a heart attack. :) If you weren't a wolf.
Wolves are sociable animals. With one another, they have a pecking order, but they're also loving toward each other. Romance? Yes. With alpha pack leaders, ...

George of the Jungle???

Okay, so I was looking for Scottish hunks one day and came across George of the Jungle. He could be a wolf, don't you think?
Raised by wolves?
Just kind of...wolfish?
So what do you think? If you got lost in a jungle, would you mind being with ol' George here?
I'm almost done with Heart of the Highland Wolf's last read! I was working a little on my website this morning also, trying to update everything, workshops for 2011, the change of the Highland title, the release date--Jun 2011!
But now I'm b...

Where is Jake now???

I'm thinking of setting Dreaming of the Wolf in the fall--snowstorm in the mountains of Colorado. It's Jake's story and he's off on woodland jaunt. At least, that's the story percolating in my thoughts. And the heroine is already in a mess of trouble, headed in his direction.
I'm still rereading Heart of the Highland Wolf. A lot of folks ask me how many times I read a story that I'm writing. Lots and lots and lots. :)
With writing, and trying to keep continuity and not leaving out anything impo...

To the Highlands of Scotland with Love

Hope everyone is having a wonderful mother's day. My daughter took me to an EARLY morning service and though I'm an EARLY morning person, I didn't sleep hardly at all last night, so suffice it to say, I was having a really difficult time staying awake. :)
Anyway, we're home again and she's fixing me a healthy spaghetti dinner (since she's in nutrition training) and then we're off to watch a movie. :)
My son sent me beautiful roses from where he's flying missions and I'm one happy mom.
I do mis...

Woohoo, Susan S gave a brilliant review of The Accidental Highland Hero!!! Thanks so much to Susan of Love Romance Passion.
This spicy historical will steal your breath and capture your heart.
I'm rereading Heart of the Highland Wolf, to see if I can catch any errors, etc. And am halfway through. :) I've got to go to work in just a few minutes, but I wanted to wish everyone a great Saturday!!!
So I'm off to work on it, then have to go to work and mow and...*sigh*...the weekend will be gone befo...

Food--and What it Means to You!

When I was growing up, my best friend lived next door and was of Spanish origin--on her mother's side, Mexican on her father's. We learned how to make Doritos with little wedges of cheese topped with half a green olive and broiled until the cheese was melted and the chips nice and crispy. But it was also my first introduction to all kinds of delicious Mexican dishes. Then one day my girlfriend heard we were eating spinach and she said it was like eating smooshed frogs.

To Tempt the Wolf in 2nd Printing!!!
The book will be available again in June and I apologize for it not being available until then, but, it is coming!!! And it's good news that it's already in its second printing!
Heart of the Wolf is already in its second printing, and it looks like Destiny of the Wolf will be so soon. :)
In other news, RWA's national conference, which I have only been able to attend twice over the past several years, was scheduled to meet in Nashville, and I was all set to go. First literacy signing for me (all...

Sexy Water Play

Okay, Beth, is this what you had in mind?
And thanks again to Donna for sending me some nice photos.
Okay, I'm really trying to keep my mind on Scottish themes and if these two were skinny dipping in Scotland, they'd be blue skinned by now. :)
I have to agree though, water play is always fun! What do you think?
