Purple is...

a sunset so stunning that if someone were to paint it, it would look too fantastical.

Eggplant, plums, prunes, raisins, grapes, figs, purple asparagus, purple cabbage, purple carrots, purple Belgian endive, purple peppers--and they're healthy for you, too!

Amethyst gems are gorgeous semi-precious crystals.

Purple is...beauty. I love purple flowers and purple clothes. I've seen it said that purple means depression, but I've never seen it that way. Mix yellow and purple pansies and it looks like a...

The Moral of the Story is...

When I was growing up, fairy tales were the norm. Did you notice how many were written about characters in three? The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Billy Goats Gruff?

It's funny how a fairy tale, legend, mythology, moral tales can influence someone's life. I often mention fairy tales in my stories, because they were such a part of my life growing up. Have you read the Little Red Hen, who asked the other barnyard animals if they would help her gather the wheat and...

Blue Means...

...feeling blue--down and out, serenity, "once in a blue moon"--rarely.

I think of the sky, the water, lulling, calming when I think of blue.

Blue uniforms represent power. The Blue Angels an expert Navy flying armada.

The darker the color, the colder. Aqua is lighter, sensuous like the Caribbean waters, pastels remind me of spring. Dark blue with red and white is patriotic. Primary blue for boys.

:)

It makes me think of sapphires and denims--I love blue!

What about you?

Ever Been to the Drive-In Movies???

"A Nat King Cole song of the era proclaimed that at the drive-in
"you'll see more kisses in the car than on the screen," and often kissing was just the beginning of the
festivities. By the mid-'50s the adults had caught on and drive-ins were condemned as "passion pits" by
America's clergy."--From Palo Alto History

When we were kids, we loved to go to the drive-in theater to watch the epic movies in California and Florida. A playground gave us a chance to swing and slide before it got dark and w...

Green means....

so many things to me. When I write, I think in colors. So when I think of green, I generally think of verdant forests, lush lawns, spring, rebirth.

But I also think of going green, ecology, recycling and having a green thumb.

Or unripe fruit.

And green beer for St Patrick's Day.

But there are other references to greens--like being green with envy, or sick to the gills.

And the color of green eyes--which is what I have, and emeralds, my birthstone.

I'm still trying to visualize this water as being a...

0% Chance of Rain, but....

Ah, what does the weatherman know anyway? We had a wonderful, terrific, stupendous rain shower last night. It was perfect, watered everything and didn't knock out my satellite or electricity. That's what I call the Perfect Storm. :)

The funny thing was I had looked at the weather report before I went home from work. The prediction was 0% for all week. I think 10% for a couple of days, which means no rain. :)

I love it when the weatherman is wrong. Especially when it is great weather!

Okay, the w...

It's not Fair...

Thanks to Donna for sending me this wolfish guy, but it's not fair she gets time to spend with him when I don't!

So seeing him here will have to suffice. :) My name up there is to show a claim to him. :) hehehe...actually, it's the start of the graphics my son is playing with to redo my website. I can't wait to show it off when he's done!

I'll be posting the blog schedule on the sidebar--if I can manage it--sometime this weekend so it doesn't get lost in the blogosphere.

I'm running really behin...

I Looked for Him...

He was there, I'm sure, in the beautiful park that I'd hiked through last night.

He wasn't riding this bike though. He was running in his wolf form. Birds were singing throughout the woods, the sound of highway traffic drifted in the intermittent breeze. But without a wolf's hearing, I couldn't hear the river flowing down below. A sweet scent wafted in the air. I tried to conjure up what it could be. It didn't matter. It perfumed the air and made the hike even better.

Except for Alaskan-sized m...

Ahh, Summer...

I wish I could take better pictures, but here is a giant sunflower next to the corn stalks. Note the bugs in summer??? A grasshopper is on the first sunflower, a moth on the second! Both are cream colored, so it might be harder to see the second sunflower with the moth attached.

I'm certain there's a wolf in them thar cornfields too. :)

Below, I have a picture of jasmine in bloom. This is actually a late bloomer. All the others have already bloomed and gone away. But the scent of jasmine perfum...
