A New Otter in the Family :-)

I've just been gifted with another lovely otter, this one hand made and raku-fired to a really beautiful metallic finish by Melissa at chaelan.com. He is the water element figure from a series she's done, and I am very pleased to give him a new home! Thanks, Melissa!

On one hand, dialog my favorite part of writing, because it comes the easiest. I hear the character's voices in my head; all I have to do is write down what they say. On the other, it's the most difficult for me to teach, because I do "write by ear." But how the words flow is only part of the picture.

What is purpose of dialog? Or rather purposes?

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Nightrunner movie plans

I repeat, this has absolutely nothing to do with the Nightrunner movie plans. I have no news to share about that. When I do, believe me, you'll hear about it. :-)

There, that being said. Elsewhere a fan brought a Welsh actor named Lee Williams to my attention, suggesting that he looks like Seregil. Well. He does. J, I'm sorry, but you've been displaced as "Guy who looks the most like Seregil to Lynn." It was a nice run. Here are your roses and parting gifts. I'll always love you.

Here's Lee i...

Tiger, you don't owe me a thing

Thoughts while listening to Tiger Woods' mea culpa: (Why did I watch? Why do we stop to look at car accidents?)

Since when does the public rate a personal apology from a celebrity for his personal problems? It's painful to watch. Thank you, Tiger, for finally inserting into the groveling that this should be between you and your wife. It is. You shouldn't be doing this. You shouldn't have to.

Damn right about the press leaving your family alone. Following your child to school? Publishing the add...

One of those days

It was one of those days when you rip out and write more and end up with about the same word count you started with. I hate that. This book is coming in stits and farts.

Creak

My house just moved half an inch to the over there and back again and went softly boom.

Where I'm from, houses are better behaved.

This has been happening a lot lately.
