Cat Food Opium Dream
Yes, it's a cat food commercial, but it's mesmerizing! The colors and images, the weirdly catchy music, the whole "Kitty through the looking glass" motif. The stylization of the turkeys delights me, and the reed fish boat, contrasted with the goldfish that appears in its bowl in the upper foreground. And then there's the dark side; all those animals bowing and dancing to the cat are soon to be in those little cans, for its delectation. The horror of the baby chicks celebrating their immanent...

Mad Men Barbies?
If these weren't so obscenely expensive, my husband would be getting Joan in his Xmas stocking. It's the only show I have ever seen this man fanboy.

On a Freakin' Roll
Good morning, everyone. One more good writing day and I can take the weekend off without guilt. But what's life without guilt? I've no idea. Maybe I'll just take off one day.
My reward is going off to the American Tea Room in Beverly Hills tomorrow to sample their new goodies for Teaviews and visit with my friend, owner David B. I'd better make up a shopping list and stick to it, or I'll spend the grocery money. Their Milk Oolong is phenomenal.

Brain Go Boom!
Had a major story break through during meditation (not very spiritual) and spent the afternoon hacking, slashing, rearranging, salvaging fragments from older versions (NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY!) and generally changing the order of events and season, merging two characters into one, and all sorts of other fun writery stuff. And even with all the slashing, I still came out 1000 words to the good.
