Friends

A dear friend called today. I don't hear from her often, but that's ok. It's one of those friendships that endures like an underground river, surfacing now and then, but always in stream, always in each other's thoughts. We lived in the same area for a dozen years, and our kids grew up together. We shared a lot of important passages. She was one of my very first readers of LITS in progress, after D. She inspired one of the characters of the Nightrunner books. Our ties run deep.

ConBust Bound

Home again, after a fun day of panels, including the Extemporaneous Tales of Mad Science, then a magnificent Chinese feast with friends wedschilde and heyoka .Great conversation and great food. What more can you ask? :-)

Con report 2

Early morning. I can't blame this sore throat on con crud. I was coming down with this since Thurs. And trying desperately to convince myself it was only allergies. Not too bad but I have three events to get through that will need a voice.

The Masquerade last night was really nice
. I wish I had pictures for you. Steam Powered Giraff was great!

Con Report

Three panels so far, and all stayed pretty much on topic. This con is heavily steampunk. I picked up Cherie Priest's Boneshaker at Mysterious Galaxy this afternoon. Four chapters in already and really enjoying it!

Looking forward to the Steampunk Masquerade tonight. It's such an interesting look. And Steam Powered Giraff is the band for the event.

ConDor 2010
