Blog Tour
Starting tomorrow, I will be hosting a series of writers—friends of mine from a writing blog called Broad Universe— who are doing the same for me on their blogs, to introduce our work to a wider audience. I think you'll enjoy meeting them. I'll be posting them on M-W-F for the next two weeks.

Today's Buddhist Thought
There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.

New App
Have I mentioned lately how still addicted I am to my iPhone? I have all sorts of useful apps, like where to find dog parks and what the weather is anywhere in the world and how to convert grams into kilowatts and so forth, but I haven't found anything fun in a while. Doggy Update
Two mile on-leash walk with Emma and Jackson today. I much prefer the off leash beach but it wasn't in the cards today and we need to do something regularly locally, so we walked down to UR to take in the orange blossoms in the campus grove, then back again. The dogs, who have mostly been to the beach lately, aren't too happy or well behaved on leashes, and we couldn't find Emma's training chain, so she was like a kite in a high wind for much of the walk. But Jack settled down and did a resp...

Earth Hour
Who observed Earth Hour last night? What did you do? We had a very peaceful time by candlelight, working on details for the cruise and workshop and snuggling by the fire. It was so nice and peaceful that when the hour was up we left the lights—and the tv and the computers—off. It's amazing how well you can read by candlelight.
