"Tea Party Jesus"
Potentially offensive to some. Pass at your own risk.
The reason I'm posting this is that the juxtaposition really has a dreadful irony.
I wonder if the people quoted have seen this? Click on each picture to find out who the quote came from.

The scripture passage, "Jesus wept" comes to mind.

New Dr. Who
If you've already seen the new season with Matt Smith, no spoilers please. I've been shielding myself as much as possible so it can all be fresh and new. But we are being deluged with commercials on BBCA now, so I'm getting a good look at the new Doctor. On one hand, there's something strangely unformed about his face. On the other, he bears some weird resemblance to DT that I can't quite put my finger on, but that makes me think that yes, he could have morphed into this body. It will be inte...

Yard and Garden
I went to the University of Riverside's plant sale a few weeks ago and got a couple of interesting plants.
A Dark Lady slipper orchid:
And a Queen of the Night cactus vine. It's in traction to train it to climb the fence. Amazing what you can do with cheesecloth and turkey twine. Enclosed in chicken wire "dog proof fence."
I have a soft spot for slipper orchids. They grow wild in the Maine woods, probably our most exotic flower. The ones in the north are a beautiful buttery yellow, and we call ...

Confederate History Month
The Governor of Virginia has declared April, fittingly enough, as Confederate History month, stating that it was an important time in our country and should be studied and understood. Fair enough. But somehow his all encompassing statement completely left out any mention of slavery.

Criminal Minds Last Night
Totally unsatisfying, as much as I like Forest Whitaker. As Doug observed, it felt like the set up for a spin off, and not a great one, either. Our Heroes were totally occluded and left in the dust, their fat pulled from the fire by the other team. We saw so little of their crime solving abilities. Why wasn't Reid paired off with the perky blond know-it-all? Bleah.
I think "Mosley Lane" is the best show of the season so far.
