One Good Thing

I woke up at three o'clock this AM freezing my wootle booty off. I'd left the windows open and my fan on because it usually gets so hot on summer nights here in Indiana. And me with no A/C, I don't want to have a heat stroke while I sleep. I guess I should get the weather forecast for now on. But honestly, it was refreshing. I was laying there wide awake (and have been all day) so I took the sheet off my bed, wrapped it around me, and went to the laptop to see who emailed me what. It reminded...

Cabaret Life: The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy

This is a film that's really grown on me after I initially saw it and hated it. All along, though, I thought this was a great scene....and I sing it all the time: "If I had just one last wish, I would like a tasty fish..."

One Good Thing

The encouragement of defeat. You read right. I was out today and discovered I was low on cash. Normally, something like this might send me into a downward spiral of worry, but lately I've been very good at seeing awkward and uncomfortable situations as learning experiences. The same goes for my lack of monetary funds. These instances push me to try harder, to write more, so that I can get stuff out there that will sell more and get me out of said desperate situation. Today, after a momentary ...

One Good Thing

This morning I finished the first draft for my next book for Dreamspinner Press, and I did it two whole weeks early. I had given myself a specific "get done" date for the first draft, so, clearly, I'm a superman. It's a romantic comedy with elements of Elizabeth Von Arnim's Enchanted April, Willie Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and a smattering of sexy gayness. The title? Another Enchanted April.

I really enjoyed writing it. I'm not certain when the final will be wrapped up, or when ...

Cabaret Life: My Best Friend's Wedding

One of the more famous musical bits from recent years. This was the highlight of the film for me. And it's a very cute film. Tarantino even liked it. I thought Rupert Everett was adorable at the time, though that was before he became all self-loathing and changed his face. Julia Roberts looks beautiful, and it's always great to see Susan Sullivan and Rachel Griffiths. This is the second PJ Hogan film on the list (after "Unconditional Love"). He's always great for throwing in a musical number ...

One Good Thing

My playlist today while doing the ol' workout was pretty kick-ass. I have a playlist I call "Good Mood" and I listen to it on shuffle while trying to get the sexy on. Today the list chose the likes of "Mamma Mia" by ABBA, "Your Disco Needs You" by Kylie Minogue, "Boys on the Radio" by Hole, "Michael" by Franz Ferdinand, "Spaceman" by The Killers, among others. I didn't even need my energy drink. And it was leg day. That made it so much more appreciated, because as all fitness enthusiasts know...
