12 Unique Films In My Collection
Films in my collection that I think are the most unique:
"The Hanging Garden" - Thom Fitzgerald's beautiful and symbolic film about a family long past falling apart.
"The Passion of Joan of Arc" - Falconetti's amazing performance in this silent film remains one of the best I've ever seen, male or female.
"The Diving Bell & The Butterfly" - Poetic, sad, and uplifting. And Max von Sydow is wonderful and heartbreaking in just two scenes.
"The Seventh Seal" - Death playing chess. How could I not love...

One Good Thing
I am well on my way to white trash today. As we all know, the heat has been horrendous for much of the US this summer. It makes me want to kick someone in the balls. Anyway, my niece has her little yellow kiddie pool and I sure did stick my bare feet in it for a while today to cool off. All I needed was a beer and a ball cap and I could have called myself Bubba. I feel no shame in this. I needed to be cooled off and the pool already had water in it. Nice cool water. Splash splash splash.

One Good Thing
I was watching my niece Serenity today for my sister. Actually, me, my brother Craig, and my other sister Stephanie were all watching Serenity today because, well, at two, she's a handful. She had just been outside in the kiddie pool when she comes running, soaking wet, into my bedroom where I was writing. My brother and sister came chasing after her. She demands I turn her favorite XM radio station on - one that plays continuous dance hits - and then she climbs onto my bed, getting it wet an...

Hot Shot: Ram
This image is from a new favorite artist of mine, Flondo. I love the nipple clamps. Class all the way! I'll be posting my favorite image of the artist's later this week and it may well get me slapped with a warning label. But I don't care. I'm taking the young sexy man by the horns...

One Good Thing
My brother Brent had the second part of his surgery today and it was a great success. They resected (is that the right word?) a himangioma the size of a golf ball from his brain. Good lord! Over-achiever. Anyway, he's got some resting to do and then he should be up and at 'em. He shouldn't have to go through any therapy, so that's awesome. From experience (three times) I know PT a pain in the ass. Thanks everyone who sent good vibes his way!

Wise Words of Arvin Facebookery
These are a few of my status updates from Facebook. A few might even make it into future books:
Accept the things you cannot change...except the things you cannot accept. So sayeth The Arvin.
You can tell you're getting older when your fantasy boyfriend is a chiropractor.
I demand contentment. And I want it now.
I am a prisoner of myself, trying to accept the "Can't do" and trying to overcome the "Won't do."
Hummus is yummus.
"Dad, it does absolutely nothing for my self-confidence when you tell me ...

Hot Shot: Don't Walk Away
I think Charlie said he knows this guy - it looks like the same model anyway. He might be my new favorite out there. That booty looks alluringly pillow-like...
