Rainbow Snippets December 1st

Happy first day of December! Wow has this year flown by or what??? Are you ready for the Holidays?

I’m posting again from This Time Around (which is a rework of Refugees which is the sequel to For the Heart of Phillip). Drama was everywhere in the first book; but it’s been tamed in this volume, which follows Robert and David’s journey after things didn’t go as planned in book one.

This book is now available only at  Amazon

What is Rainbow Snippets? It’s a group of LGBT+ authors who post six sentences (or more) from a current WIP, published work or even something they’ve read that they want to rave about. Click on the link below the rainbow to be transported to a place of wonder where you will find tasters of everything from sweet romance, to hot and steamy, to fantasy and sci-fi.

To set the stage: (spoiler alert)!!! In the first book, Robert and Phillip break up and David and Andrew break up.

This is David coming home to find out that Andrew has left him:

“Andy? You home? Where are ya, hon?” No answer. Hm, guess he did go out. I wonder if he called or left a message.  He checked the answering machine. There were no new messages, nor was there anything left beside it. His gut tightened. Maybe he left a note somewhere else.  His eyes darted around; he turned pillows over, looked under cushions. His pace became frantic. Wait a minute, why wouldn’t he just call me?  He grabbed his cell phone and checked through his voicemail. Nothing.

Finally, David returned to the kitchen and picked up the mail again. He walked to the hall table in the foyer and mindlessly dropped the mail onto it. The envelopes slid forward, upsetting an item below. A melodic “ding” caught his attention immediately. He knelt on the floor and discovered the promise ring he’d so lovingly chosen. David picked it up and glared suspiciously at the bauble in his hand. He clenched it in his fist. With his free hand, he furiously rifled through the papers on the floor. A mysterious sheet of notepaper caught his eye. It was a handwritten note, in Andy’s style.  He rubbed his eyes, thinking what he read had to be a trick. It was only three sentences. He read it again, slower.

“Dear David, I am so sorry it had to be this way. I appreciate all you did for me but I cannot be with you. I hope someday you will understand. Andrew.”

Let the countdown commence…

It’s official; in just a few days from now I return to the working world.

It’s time to set up deadlines for myself so that my remaining reworks (and new works) will be out in a timely fashion.

My goal right now is to finish a new story by Valentine’s Day; and then have a rework finished once a quarter (every three months).

Now, the question for my readers out there; how close together is too close? Once a year, a month, a week?

I’d love to write a serial and try our Patreon or maybe a donation only gift?

Let me know your thoughts!

Steph

Early Present! This Time Around now available…

I’m a bit embarrassed…lol. I have Amazon KDP and used the old Refugees slot…well, that book dated back to 2011. So I couldn’t set up a pre-release…long story short, This Time Around is available now for 99 cents!

For less than a can of cranberry sauce or a box of stuffing mix, you can enjoy this redone tale of how Robert and David survive in the aftermath of ‘For the Heart of Phillip’ (book 1)
