Help me help Joplin!
Missouri is my adopted 'home' state...I've lived here most of my earthly life and want to help out after the EF5 took out 3/4 of that town!
My new book, Refugees, is up for sale for 99 cents at www.smashwords.com, up until June 1st...after which it will go to regular price...
A portion of all royalties on this new book will go to the Red Cross to help out disaster victims after this horrific tragedy...
Thank you for your support!

Family Confrentation on Easter
Exhaustion. I am completely whipped...from running errands and from dealing with drama on both family sides...most especially an episode that happened to me yesterday at my parent's home.
I'd like to share (without names to protect the closed-minded party and my relatives).
I arrived there solo, (had to make a trip back to get food I forgot to bring) and found my Uncle and Aunt there. Now...a little background on him. He's extremely biggoted and old-fashioned to the nth degree. He's also up in years and very staunchly conservative.
That said...for some reason it got back to him about what I wrote. Needless to say he was not pleased. He decided to ask me in his booming voice why I write what I write. I looked over and saw younger family members already at the table and shushed him.
He glared at me for daring to shush him! (that's how this guy is). He proceeded to ask me again why I write that (and he didn't have to say "garbage" out loud, I heard it in his tone.)
I told him it was a long story. That was all I wanted to tell him; he didn't deserve to know why!
He pressed me further and I told him it was on a dare. (figured a dare to myself counted, right)?
Insane.
I told him I write mainstream too, just to sway the subject away. He asked what mainstream was...and I had to hold back a smarmy answer such as "not you"! Instead I told him it was what bookstores carry. That sated him. He backed off. He and my Aunt left after that and I was never happier to see him leave in my life!
What do you think of how I handled the situation?

Taking a breather...
Things have been a little bit haywire for me lately; between new contracts, editing, etc. schoolwork (which makes sense 50% of the time) and this new-ish job....not much time left for fun.
Well, that's gonna change a bit. This weekend is nuts, but after that I hope things get back into a good, steady rhythm of just doing homework on the good weekday night when it's quiet and goto work, do my 8 and hit the highway.
My next book release is on May 26th, Refugees, aka the sequel to For the Heart of Phillip....and after that, Ranch Hands returns! Riding into town on a tractor I'm sure! LOL I can't wait for that..we've yet to do the cover, yet all of the edits are done!
Goodreads traffic has really picked up and I love all the feedback! I'm even getting a chance to do some 'leisure' reading again! Now that's really nice...even if it's at 5 am and I read til 630! If I'm into a story, then I'll not want to turn off the screen!
I will have more blog guests coming...I hope you come by and leave a comment...love comments!
Have a great holiday weekend and see you soon!

New Works!
Life After Math has finally arrived on the scene! But that is only the beginning for this year...
I just received acceptance from Silver on a new book (with a co-author even) named "My Fair Vampire". We should be getting the contract tonight!
Also, in May on the 26th, I am releasing the sequel to For the Heart of Phillip... "Refugees"! I am doing this one myself...it will be out on Amazon, Smashwords, etc.
Not long after and in the hopes everything turns out fine; I will have Love by the Numbers out for ebook distribution! Wish me luck!
Last but not least are August and November; the two months for Ranch Hands and Ranch Hands 2; Jerry's Season.
A busy year indeed for me!

What happens when...
My Dad had an excellent question/comment the other night about e-readers. Back in the day of paperbacks (which we still somewhat are in), people could see the cover and say "Hey, that's looks interesting, what're you reading?"
Now, you only see text; but do not a clue what it's about...there's no cover!
I'm curious how to reach the paperback crowd...and capture that curious looker...any suggestions?

New home for Ranch Hands!
Yup, my boys Sid and Roger have found a new home, with Wicked Nights Publishing, woot!!! They've also picked up Ranch Hands 2; Jerry's Season (the new sequel)!!!
This mean that the current book (Ranch Hands) will be going away...but only until August 26th!
In the meantime, I'm giving it one last hurrah as my self-pub creation. On smashwords and amazon I have it up for .99 cents! Get your copy now before February and the sale ends.
Look for Ranch Hands 2 to be out this November. :)
fyi, Ranch Hands Reharvested is unaffected...that is always available at amazon, smashwords, lulu, and all romance ebooks.

Got my cover!!!
For "Life After Math"!
check it out at http://ladyauthorsld@blogspot.com!
Scott Williams, the brilliant math tutor is all grown up and in college. He’s anxious to move forward with his schooling and his life in general. He’s also thrilled to have lost over 50 pounds in less than a year!
His boyfriend, Jared Adamson, is also with him at the same school. They became promised over the summer and look forward to getting through college and spending the rest of their lives together.
Freshman year goes smoothly, but when sophomore year arrives, everything is turned upside-down. Scott takes up tutoring again and meets a young, shy fellow math tutor named Daniel. Jared is also tempted with the older, very handsome and fiery-haired Taylor who becomes his psychology tutor.
The couple gets their first true dose of real life away from their parents and also of true jealousy. Both Daniel and Taylor present a dilemma for the happy couple as do demands for each other’s time! Emotional arguments break out and for the first time in their relationship, they deal with uncertainty over their future together. Finally, after a tumultuous argument, the two break up! What happens next? Will this couple survive these four years together, or will they be just a memory to each other?

Happy New Year!
Wow, 2011 is finally here! I must say I'm looking forward to seeing what unfolds for this fresh set of 365 days.
The previous year was good and brought my first taste of success to me and I am forever grateful! I wrote 5 books within that span, worked 3 jobs, (at different times), started graduate school, moved, and dealt with life overall. Not a bad lot in all I'd say.
So far in this year, I have no job (but am ardently searching), I have a new book out in March (with a contracted publisher again)!, we want to move very badly (awful place we live in, wish we'd never signed awful)...and have gotten further into both schooling (near my 3rd semester) and have also picked up a hobby again that I'd left due to medical issues 5 1/2 years ago. I've never been happier to get back to strapping on ice skates!
I didn't make any resolutions; I never do. I am still in survival mode which doesn't leave room for things like that. I'm still broke, living on the temp assignment wages I can find, and driving the same car I've had for over 5 years. I'm thinking of learning to can items and grow my own.
Well, that's it for me, how about you? Did you or do you make any resolutions? What were they? Do you generally keep them or do they slip away after a week or two?
If anything; I have goals. Job, house, move, car, skate, school, dance, done.
Happy new year!!!
