Changes in the wind...

Fall is here at last! Winter used to claim the number one post in my heart as favorite; but fall has since become my new favorite. What's not to love? No more oppressive heat, the leaves changes, and thoughts turn to the holiday season (3 months til Christmas)!

With the shifting of the seasons, there's opportunity to sit back with a warm cup of something pumpking-spiced and recoup.

For me... life is about 3 things: work (which has gotten better of late), family (which is good and bad), and of course, writing.

Work is work...if I could spend my life as an author, that's every writer's dream..but the day job is fine (esp for bills).

Family... having a sick father-in-law has not been easy. I do thank those who've contacted me for their prayers and thoughts. We honestly do not know what's next; so we take it as it comes. As for my own family, they are all fine and nuts as ever.

Finally, writing... which is the one constant in my life besides breathing since almost birth. That's been wonderful of late. Projects are flowing as time allows (yes, I'm still in school)... but when I need a mind break from the homework, there's my first love. Coming soon are two works, the 4th installment of the Southern Comfort series, and the #1 intallment of the new Upstaged series (with co-author and friend, Nephylim).

Look for both of these around Halloween or before...(I hope). :)

Until then, I'll wrap up this little note, while I sit back, watch the leaves change, curl up with one of my cats, and try to read a good book.

Decisions...decisions

Hello! My life has been full of decision-making of late. At work, I make small ones every day; as I work in the accounting field, but must disseminate tiny numbers and see if it all adds up.

Then there is writing, and schoolwork...big decision to be made as to which to pursue. (grins); but I have deadlines on both; which add to the lovely pressure.

Otherwise, there is the company business, and an odd question to ask... I've noticed that m/f material does not move nearly as much as the m/m material, and I have to ponder, why is that?

Is it because I am known as a m/m author myself? It's possible.

Is it because I don't know many groups that carry 'mainstream' material? Perhaps.

This is the quandry that faces me now. I have submissions waiting; and they are both m/f.

I want to believe that every book will sell, based on the story. I accept great stories (I wouldn't if I hated them)... but that's beside the point.

Is the readership based solely on gender? I know my hubby doesn't come near my works; because it is m/m, yet my own father was able to handle reading it, because he loved the way I told the story.

So, what's the approach to take, you think? Find new groups that handle more mainstream works, or not accept and do m/m only?

Changes...

Hello!

As spring has come early to my area of the world... I watch how quickly nature has responded. Plants, trees, everything is at least a month ahead. The weeds are everywhere; taking full advantage of our historical hot days!

I took, have undergone a transformation this springtime... first, by moving, yes, again... but this time for several years. We're committed to this new place and like it very much. It's marvelous to have a yard again!

The publishing company I started as well, is still a newborn, but has birthed 8 books so far, and there are more on the way... business is a little slow, but it is there at least.

I have many projects in the works, including a Masters degree that must be passed asap!

So, as we all undergo the spring metamorphosis, and wake up from our winter slumber, take a deep breath, be grateful for the beautiful world around you and the blessings in your lives.

Cheers..Steph

New Release!

The Alpha Lambda House!

The pain of the past is something Tom is ready to face as he heads off to the same college where his ex is attending. He knows it won't be easy, but meeting Rick helps to ease his transition. But will a persistent Carl (who has a new man of his own) get in the way of everything he's trying to rebuild?

Welcome to the labor of love of mine and my co-creator MJ MacGregor....since 2006 we worked on this tale, finally getting it buttoned-up last year.

We hope you love it as much as we do!

heat wave...defeated!

Hello all! Well...the heat has finally broken (no longer at the century mark)....but it's still hot on the ranch at Sid and Roger's in Ranch Hands...the new cover has made a huge difference, and I'm thrilled to death it's back on the market...it was missed by everyone!
Speaking of Sid, Roger, and let's not forget Jerry...the sequel is coming later this year. Jerry struck me so much he needed his own story....with all the complications I add in just for him. :)

My company is coming together in bits and pieces...I have yet to mail our P & Z items, but have my tax and state items together. It's a slow process....still need website and contract too...Suggestions are VERY welcome!
In other news...my bud Julie Hayes and I just subbed our 1st part of a book we named "Finding His Mark" to Silver! Wish us luck! We're already on book #2!

Also...I combined Phillip and Refugees into one large volume called "Broken Promises"...look for it at amazon, all romance ebooks and smashwords :)

Just last night I got a new cover for Lust in London, tell me whatcha think; I love it!

And last but not least...is My Fair Vampire which comes out from Silver in October. Can't wait for you to meet William and Misha and read their adventure based at the time of the St Louis Worlds Fair in 1904!

cheers! Steph
