Before I Read…

Summer and December are the two worst times for trying to write a book.

Sheesh…

December, of course, is busy with holiday stuff–shopping, decorating, baking, and company.

Summer is busy with everything else. So, today I actually got out of bed when my alarm went off at 6:15 (rather than shutting it off and sleeping until 7:00). I’m going to write straight up until I go for my workout at around 9 ish. Then it’s back home to write some more before I take DD # 2 to take her driving test (cross y...

What’s Your Thing?

It was a fun/busy weekend of watching people “do their thing.”

For my oldest daughter, that was performing in her first NYC play.

For my cousin’s husband, that was playing music (self-taught and oh so good) in his music room.

Both were doing what they love…and both couldn’t have looked happier the entire time they were doing it.

Having “your thing” is important in life–it picks you up when you’re low, motivates you when you need a kick, andhelps you work through stress.

So what is your thing?...

Freeze Frame Bits

After spending so much time looking at pictures lately, today’s bits have takencameraclipart on that theme…

1) Describe your favorite picture of little-you.

2) What’s your all-time favorite family photo?

3) Staged or natural?

4) Something you wish you got pictures of but didn’t?

Look, a Squirrel!

I’m supposed to be writing.

So, you think I’d be writing, wouldn’t you?

Nope. I’mworking on a photo album.

Yup, procrastination at its finest.

When you’re looking to procrastinate, what do you do?

Catchin’ Up

How about a what’s up, update?

What I’m reading at the moment: Nothing. Though I’m eagerly awaiting the release of Linda Castillo’s latest book in about a week… :)

What I’m working on at the moment: NEEDLE AND DREAD.

My latest thing: I’m working out at a wellness center 5 times a week (waiting for it to give me an energy boost).

What I’m looking forward to on the immediate horizon: DD # 1 will play Cinderella in the Big Apple this weekend. Can’t wait to see her to her thing!

What I’m looking fo...

In the Middle of the Action

Tell me a book (or series) you’ve read where you truly felt as if you were there.

Perfect Time

One of my favorite parts of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day as a parent is just having that time with the kids.

For Mother’s Day this year, we took a day trip to the beach. The drive there/back, as well as the time at the beach was time to talk and enjoy each other’s company.

For Father’s Day this year, we had a game day. This had everyone in one spot at the same time…talking and laughing.

We played Settlers of Catan (if you’ve not played this, you should). DH won. fathersdaygame5b

We played Spot-It (if you’ve...

Good Bits

It took a little brain foraging, but I came up with some interesting bits for all of you…

1) What motivates you to work hard?

2) What’s your biggest complaint about your job?

3) What is your proudest accomplishment?

4) What song would you sing at Karaoke night?

5) What is your favoritesport to watch? To play?

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone! And Chris…if you’re reading this today: Happy Father’s Day!

Standstill

So I had an epiphany of sorts regarding my work in progress the other day. So now I must go back through the five chapters I’ve written so far and make the necessary adjustments. But I’d rather realize this now, then after thirty chapters, you know?

On top of that (and maybe, slightly because of that), my motivation to write has been nil this week. Not good…

What I need is a kick in the butt. Something to fire me up (this is where a movie deal could be helpful–LOL). So, if my drive hasn’t ret...

On Stage

In the past few weeks, DH and I have seen two concerts–Alan Parson Project and Melissa Etheridge. Very different musicians, very different crowds. Both good. Later in the summer, we’re going to see LynyrdSkynyrd with my cousin and her husband.

What’s the last concert you’ve been to? Any coming up?
