In The Mind Of A Reader

I’ve got some book-related questions for all of you today, so let’s get to it.

1) Where do you tend to do the bulk of your reading (specific)?

2) In this age of technology-everything, what is something pre-90’s that you miss?

3) How long does it generally take you to read a book?

4) How many books do you read a month?

5) What’s the next book on your TBR pile?

P.S. I’m over at Whodunit Authors, today, talking about my refusal to use a GPS.

Weekend Fun

I have to say, this past weekend was a fun one.spymovie

Friday night, DH and I went out for wings and to see SPY. Afterward, we headed over to the local Relay for Life and watched DD # 2 perform with her dance team.

Saturday, I worked on a fun clothes-line picture frameduring the day. In the evening, we all enjoyeda backyardcampfire (complete with S’mores) and then watched THE HEAT on DVD.

Sunday, while the guys were playing paint ball, I took DD # 1 and # 2 out to our favorite little barbecue place...

Second Line, Please

So I just finished chapter five of my latest work in progress. Now, it’s timeto set the book aside for a few hours and bullet-point out the next three to five chapters–what happens, who’s on the page, who crosses paths, what red herrings I need to plant, clues that need to transpire, etc.

I’ve found, after many years of writing, that I work best inchapter blocks (usually about three to five at a time). It helps keep me on task and provides a blueprint of sorts when I turn on the computer each m...

Driver’s Ed

In a few weeks, DD # 2 wilcarl be taking her driving test. She’s doing a good job so far, so I’m anticipating it will go well.

Of course, going through this first with DD # 1 and now DD #2, it makes me think back to my own driver’s test. In Connecticut, where I was when I turned 16, you didn’t have to parallel park to get a license. You just had to drive and back into a space. Needless to say, I’m not the best parallel-parker in the world (although I’m getting better, as of late).

A Different Kind of Jacket

So I got to see the cover for the 5th book in my Amish Mysteries. And although I can’t share it just yet (a few tweaks are being made), I can tell you it is spectacular. The cover artist assigned to that series (who also happens to do the covers for my Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries) is absolutely amazing.

What I can share at the moment, is the back jacket copy (for your reading pleasure this morning :) ) of the book, which is titled: A CHURN FOR THE WORSE. It will be released on March 1st…

Grab A Cart

It’s that time of the week again…

1) What one store (other than a grocery store)can you never leavewithout buying more than you intended?

2) What’s your one downfall aisle in the grocery store?

3) Is there a row you can safely skip on all occasions?

4) Favorite brand of ice-cream?

5) Favorite store (grocery or otherwise) ever?

The Water Was Cold on his Fingers…

I’m a few pages in to chapter two of my next work in progress (Sewing Circle # 11–NEEDLE AND DREAD) and I’ve got a long way to go.

So of course, I’m thinking about other writing projects…

:)

Yup, that’s the way it works sometimes.

Anyway, I’m hoping you can help curb those thoughts by giving me something to read.

Here’s your prompt for today:

Take me back (in a short paragraph) to a day in your childhood (or that of a fictional child). Take us with you to catch frogs, or play soccer, or do what...

Whoa

So I worked with a trainer yesterday. He checked my heart rate, made up a workout plan, and showed me how to use all the machines he wants me using (strength and core).

Today, I’m sore. And tired. Trying to tell myself it’s temporary and nothing good comes easy…but, whoa.

My main goal for today? Write 3K words and then chill.

What’s on your agenda for the day?
