Wisdom Teeth
Dear Daughter # 1 got her wisdom teeth pulled on Monday. Needless to say, she’s not been feeling all that great the past day or so. Of course, I’ve been supplying her with milk shakes (which she loves), applesauce, and pudding, and reminding her it will be over soon.
This, however, is one of those “life moments” I can’t completely relate to as I still have all four of my wisdom teeth.
How about you? Do you have yours? If not, any tips (or horror stories) to share now that the big extraction i...

Reading It All
When my siblings and I were little, the cereal box was always required reading, often resulting in a fight as to who got to have it in front of their bowl.
Back then, vacation time meant the beach. And the beach meant banner planes. When one of those flew over the beach, all wave-jumping stopped just so we could read the banner.
These days, I can’t ride in a subway without reading all the ads. Same for the outside of city buses as they go by.
Any must-read oddities for you along the way?

If You Could
Over the weekend, we went to see a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert and it was fantastic. Those guys really rocked every minute of their time on stage.
Who is someone you‘d like to see in concert one day?

Just Ask
So I’m in a rare stretch of time when I don’t have a contracted book to start yet (I’ll do that in mid-September). I’m tempted, of course, to just take some time off–you know, give my brain a break. But as nice as that sounds (and as badly as it’s needed), it’s rare to get time like this where I can work on something different.
Right now, my brain is kicking around a new project and it’s really starting to take shape. Which means, come next week, I might actually give the first few chapters o...

That One Award…
I’d like to pose a question for today’s post.
Out of all of the awards/recognition (s) you’ve ever received (even as a kid), what stands out as being your most prized?

Racing to the End…Why?
If I’ve ever had an inkling of uncertainty as to why I don’t read when I’m working on a book of my own, I don’t any longer.
When I’m caught up in reading, I can think of little else. If a snatch of time rears it’s head, I’m reading. If I’m supposed to be getting ready for bed, I’m reading. If I should be running an errand this minute, I’ve likely postponed “this minute” until later so I can read.
I love getting caught up in a story. Especially if that story has characters I care about.

I’m Back
I’m back!
The last I left you, I’d finished my latest book and was heading off for a 2 day trip to the beach with my brother and his family and then home to pack again for summer vacation with my own crew. I managed to get edits on the new manuscript done with another all-nighter, which allowed me to hit “send” in time to enjoy all but one day of vacation.
Now I have a window of about six weeks before I have to start on my next contracted book. I hope to use that time to work on a project th...
