Grins & Groans
How about a few “grins & groans” this morning?
Grins:
1) I got to spend about 36 hours in St. Louis. I saw my MS support team (aka my doctor and nurse–both of whom I adore), as well as a few dear friends. Friend-time is always good for the soul.
2) I’m in the process of setting up events to coincide with the launch of the first book in my brand new mystery series for 2016 (stay tuned for details on both the series and the events).
3) I came home from my trip with two new books–both written by...

Bits!
Bits time!
1) What really makes you angry?
2) What motivates you to work hard?
3) What is your favorite thing about your career?
4)What makes you laugh the most?

Field Trip
I’m having a sort of virtual author event over at the Whodunit Author blog today.
I’m doinga Q & A (with myself), posting lots of cute pictures, and putting a signed book up for grabs to one lucky visitor who comments on that blog.
Come on by and pull up a chair.

A Mini Recharge
Took a few recharging days at the beach and came back with a few pictures…
Something about lounging on a beach chair, looking out over the ocean, has restorative powers for me.
This little mini getawaywas possible thanks to two days off from school for DD # 2. It also happened to coincide with a time I wasn’t feeling so hot, so the break was perfect.
One of my favorite beach activities is kite flying. On this particular evening, there was no wind at first. So there was a lot of runni...

Bits of Bits of Bits
Time for Friday Bits.
Here we go…
1) What’s the longest you’ve ever waited on hold? For whom?
2) What can a friend do that would make you feel special?
3) Would you rather be able to cook like a professional chef or sing like a professional singer?
4) Would you rather be able to go back a 100 years and experience life as it was then, or zoom forward and experience life as it will be in 100 years?
5) If you had to do without one sense, which one would you lose?
Have a fabulous weekend, everyon...

A Snapshot in Time
Who’s up for a writing challenge today?
One paragraph. Show us the room in which you’re in right now. Pretend you’re a character looking around the room for the very first time. Let us see, through his/her eyes, your surroundings.
Ready?
Go.

Quick Switch
I’d hoped to take some time for myself in the city today, but the excessive temperatures around here has shelved that idea for the time being.Heat and MS don’t go well together and there are times I need to just listen to my body rather than my heart.
Sooo, instead of a Belgian waffle at my favorite breakfast haunt anda front row spot at the Central Park Zoo’s sea lion feeding show,I think I’m going to head off to the café in B & N and work on my want-to project. I realize that’s trading a da...

By Heart
For those of you who have read to little children, you know that there is something almost melodic about certain storybooks. That, coupled with the fact that little ones like to hear the same stories again and again, makes it so that some stories stick in the reader’s head (as in word for word) for years later.
The book I can still recite in my head thanks to my daughters? Mr. Brown Can Moo, How About You?
Is there a book you could probably recite chunks of, if prompted?

Long Weekend
If you have a 3-day weekend, I hope you’re taking some time for fun. If you don’t have the long weekend, I hope you find at least a little time for yourself.
See you all back here tomorrow.
