Backstory Bits

You always hear about backstory in terms of fictional characters (in books and/or on the screen), so let’s try it with our Friday Bits today.

1) What state were you born in?

2) Did you sleep with a doll or stuffed animal every night as a kid? If so, what?

3) Who taught you to ride a bike?

4) Someone you admired as a kid (besides your parents)?

~Elizabeth (aka Laura)

P.S. I decided to pick two random names from yesterday’s post to win a book of their choice from those I currently have out. Tho...

Autumn’s Finest

free-autumn-clipart-0004While I’m looking forward to squeezing a bit more “summer fun” out of the next few weeks via an upcomingbeach weekend, I have to admit my thoughts are straying toward Autumn.

Honestly, I love all things Autumn–the colors, the more pleasant temperatures, bike rides, decorating the house, baking in my crock pot, and the writers’ retreat I have coming up in November (can’t wait).

To change things up a little today, I thought I’d put a “book of your choice” up for grabs. I’ll pick ONE random name...

Wednesday Ramblings…

**My youngest if off to her first day of school (11th grade) today and I’m left wondering where the time has gone. Seems like just yesterday I took her sister’s first day of 11th grade picture and she’s a junior in college now…

It’s all gone so fast, you know?

**After my workout this morning, I’ll be starting on a brand new writing project. This one isn’t contracted, rather it’s something I want to try. I have a few weeks to devote to it before needing to switch to my next contracted book.

**...

From Sidekick to Lead…

I’m kind of excited about the book-related question I have for you today.

Ready?

Is there a sidekick character (from any book you’ve ever read) you’d love to see spin-off and be a lead in a book of their own?

Who? Why?

Eater’s Choice

Yesterday, my youngest and I were on our own for dinner. So I gave her the choice of what she wanted to do for dinner.

Her pick? An assortment of appetizers.

My addition? Ben & Jerry’s for dessert.

When you’ve got control over dinner, what do you tend to pick?

Geek Alert

My friend, Julie, has never met a shoe store she doesn’t like.

My mother could spend days in a clothing store.

Me? I like office supply stores. school_supplies

Yep, I’m a total geek. Office supply stores are, essentially, my mother ship. I love walking down the various aisles and looking at the pens, pencils, notepads, sticky-notes, folders, labels, envelopes, etc. And if they’re colorful, even better.

So while I’m not a fan of the lines this time of year always brings to said stores, I’ll take just about a...
