On the Road
I’m in Amish country today, soaking up the aura/pace for my current work in progress. I’ll be back tomorrow morning!

Summing It Up Perfectly
I’m still working on Sunburn by Laura Lippman. Another two elliptical sessions and I’ll be done. Good book.
Now for an odd question. Have you ever been reading a book and the author describes a particular relationship or person or experience that makes you say, “YES! Exactly!?” I’ve had that happen twice in this book. Once when a side character said something in reference to growing up alongside a “problem” child, and another was a description of a different side character that was just so...

Three Things
I must admit, I’m tired today. Didn’t have a particularly hectic weekend, just steadily busy.
My three things:
I took myself to see I Can Only Imagine on Friday afternoon. I’ve been eyeballing this movie since I saw the first trailer last fall as I absolutely adore the song it’s based on. It was a great story.
Saturday, DS was here and I got to spend some time just sitting and talking to him. Great kid. Miss him tons.
Sunday, before DS headed back to Maryland, he and I drove up to DD # 2’s...

Bits O’ Friday
Bits time!
What did you have for dinner last night? Last edible indulgence you had? Last thing you cooked? Who do you think is the best male/female actor/actress working today?Have a great weekend!

That One
This is not a solicitous post, so let’s get that out of the way right now. Okay, good.
Now, who is one author and/or series you will absolutely buy the day it releases?
For me, it’s Linda Castillo with her Kate Burkholder series.
Your turn.

A Plethora of Rambling
Time for some rambling updates on all sorts of stuff.
**We’re on snow/wind watch around here again today. Which means I’m charging all the things that need to be charged and making sure I get a shower earlier rather than later. Go a few days without power and you remember pretty quick just how much you appreciate the little things…
**DD # 1 is working hard on my website overhaul. You can’t see it yet, it’s happening behind the scenes, but when it goes live it will look very different than my...

My Current Gym Read
So I finished my most recent Sophie Kinsella book at the gym last week (I read her brand new one, Surprise Me!) and I’ve pretty much read my way through all of her books (thank you, Andrea!). Which left me with the what-do-I-read-next dilemma.
I finally decided to try a book I’ve been hearing a lot about–a thriller/suspense novel: Sunburn by Laura Lippman. I’m only about 16 percent into it (e-readers tell you such things) but so far, so good. The chapters are short, which I like. I’ll report...
Three Things, The March Madness Edition
As you can see by the title of today’s post, watching college basketball bookended my weekend. On Friday I watched my alma mater win and there was much celebrating. Last night, there was no celebrating. Some lousy calls and some unchecked physical roughness didn’t help. *Sigh*
Still, it fits into my three things because, win or lose, it was still fun to watch.
So Thing # 1:
Watching my team play on TV.
DD # 2 and I had an Amish-themed baking session. We made whoopee pies and a vanilla pie–...

A Smattering of Bits
It’s Friday! Time for bits (I thought of a great one while I was drifting off to sleep last night and then promptly forgot it this morning…)!
Coolest animal you’ve seen in the wild? Do you tend to look more at stars or puffy clouds? Last “test” you took? Did you ever get a haircut you totally regretted the second you did it? When?Have a great weekend!

Party of Four?
I’m meeting one of my two oldest (not in age, just duration) friends for a late breakfast this morning and that got me thinking…
If you could have lunch with three literary characters (from any book/books) you’ve ever read, what three would you pick and why? As for my table, I know Sherlock Holmes would be one of them (just so we could mess with him a little
