This Week’s Gym Book
On the book front, I finished reading Can You Keep A Secret at the gym on Friday. Which meant I needed new entertainment when I went back on Sunday. I decided to keep my Sophie Kinsella kick going (thank you, Andrea) and got Twenties Girl. So far so good…
I haven’t been able to get back to my Tom Hanks short story collection yet, but I will.
What are you reading this week? Comments/observations about your chosen title thus far?

Three Things
Yup, it’s Monday again. Which means it’s time to look back over the weekend and share three things we did/accomplished/made us smile/experienced/watched…whatever.
Here’s mine:
Friday night, DH and I went to a Rangers/Calgary game at Madison Square Garden. The tickets were one of my Christmas gifts to him. I got the tickets from a season ticket holder I sat next to with a friend a few years ago. Great seats.
Saturday, I drove about an hour or so north to have lunch with a friend who is having...

Valentine Bits
Running a little late this morning. Instead of coming home after the gym, I stopped at the store for things to fill the kids’ Valentine’s Day boxes with. Came home, packed those up (I’m a little packing tape-challenged, to say the least) and now all that’s left to do is take them to the post office.

Noting The Notes
Today is about some writing questions…for all of you!
Last handwritten thank you note you wrote? Are you a note/card-giving kind of person? Serious or funny cards? A handwritten note you’re forever glad you wrote… what was it/to whom? A note you wish you’d sent but never did…to whom/for what?~Elizabeth (aka Laura)

The Very Different Snow Day
We’re expecting some snow today. Not sure how much, but it’s supposed to be something.
Now that my youngest is off at college, snow days just aren’t as much fun. Heck I even miss the 5:30 a.m. automated phone message from the school announcing the delay or cancellation. The call would come in and I’d go into her room and say, “you have a X hour delay” or “no school.” And I’d hear a little “YES!” from her loft bed.
*Sigh.*
I really miss that stuff.
So, assuming there is enough snow to render...
Books, Posts, and Prizes
Sorry for being late today. Got in from my trip last night and then had a few to-do items to cross off this morning.
Sooo, what I’m reading… I’m about 5 stories into Tom Hanks’ Uncommon Type (the collection of short stories I told you all about). I read those on the plane and am enjoying them very much. I was also back at the gym this morning after being away from that for the week, and I’m still working on Sophie Kinsella’s Can You Keep A Secret? Probably two more workouts and I’ll be fi...

Three Things (In Alabama)
Happy Monday, everyone!
It was a busy weekend in my world. I traveled to Birmingham, Alabama to attend two mystery events. In addition to meeting new readers and chatting with some really nice folks, I also got to spend time with my dear friend, Lynn (also a mystery writer). So I definitely have three things to share!
Since we got in around 10 p.m. on Thursday and our first event wasn’t until Saturday, Friday was really about talking and getting lots of work done. I spent a lot of my day work...

Travelin’ Bits
Since I’m traveling this weekend for two separate reader events in Alabama, I thought we should probably do some travel related bits. So here we go…
Favorite mode of transportation (when traveling)? Least favorite mode of transportation (when traveling)? Favorite hotel chain? Favorite restaurant chain?Have a great weekend, everyone!

Writing Time
How about a writing prompt today? Before you start though, pick ONE from each choice below:
Character: A very curious 5 year old OR a cranky 80 year old
Setting: Grocery store on the day before a major weather event OR a Gag-gift style party.
Write 3 or 4 lines with your character in your setting…

Callin’ It Done
Yesterday, while sitting in airports and airplanes, and before my MRIs, I got through the pen and paper edits of the novella. Today, in between lunch with a friend, a doc appointment, and dinner with another friend, I’ll be plugging all the tweaks/changes into the computer document. If all goes well, it’ll be on the way to the editor by tomorrow morning.
And then, look out! I’m taking a few days off to read, work on marketing stuff for my June release, and spend a wee bit less time on the c...
