A New Place

I’m hoping you don’t mind, but today I’m linking you somewhere else.

I landed a spot on an Amish-themed blog with a post I wrote about my most recent research trip to Lancaster County. So instead of reading something from me here today, I’m going to ask that you read my post onAmish Wisdom (dot) com.

You can find my post HERE.

Enjoy!

No Forgetting The Bits

I’m sorry about missing yesterday. I got so caught up in getting ready for the annual Malice Domestic Mystery Conference that I forgot to post. Ugh!

Anyhoo, let’s get to today’s Bits, shall we?

1) Favorite dessert to order when at a restaurant?

2) TV on or off while going to sleep?

3) Fly, drive, or train?

4) The name of the next book on your to be read pile?

5) Look to your right (from wherever you’re sitting right now) and tell us something you see.

Wonders Never Cease

I picked up a few things (clothes wise) yesterday for the annual Malice Domestic Conference.

So what’s the big deal, you ask?

I’m the anti-shopper. I hate to shop. For me, anyway. Shopping for others, I’m good. But me, not so much.

Some of that is the whole lack-of-natural-light thing that comes with most stores. Some of it is the simple fact that an outfit has to call to me the second I walk by or forget it. No shuffling through clothes racks for me…

And, for whatever reason, when I do see s...

Now at Bat

What are you reading this week?

I just finished THE STRANGER as I mentioned yesterday, and will be moving on to a writing-related book (a genre I rarely read).

Busy, Busy…

the strangerI don’t know about you, but my weekend was busy, busy, busy.

Friday night I stayed up late (into Saturday morning, as a matter of fact) reading. It’s been a long time since I’ve lost myself in a book as a reader and it was really nice. Harlan Coben’s THE STRANGER was fantastic.

Saturday, I met up with three of my writer friends for a mini one-day retreat. We swapped tips, talked about the publishing business, and brainstormed ideas for stories and marketing. A very productive day was had by a...

Bits of Bits

Time for bits!

2) What one non-domestic animal would you love to get up close and personal with?

3) Any Easter candy left over?

4) Any Valentine candy left over?

5) What’s your favorite form of exercise?

Six a.m. Came Much Too Soon…

Writing update: I’m almost finished with chapter 11. My goal for today has me finishing chapter 11 and hopefully starting (and maybe finishing) chapter 12. We’ll see how it goes…

As for all of you, how about sharing a story start of your own. Just one or two sentences that gives us a window in to how your day started (funny, serious, whatever you want). Or, if you find it more fun to add a sentence or two to someone else’s (assuming we get any takers), feel free.

Anyone?

When a Whim Proves Smart

On a whim, I signed up to try a Zumba class seven weeks ago and, like the bike rack I finally broke down a bought over the weekend, I’m thrilled that I did!

The first class or two was rough. My left side is weaker than my right thanks to the M.S. and while I’m not aware of it in most circumstances, I was aware of it in this class. But I stuck with it, and I feel like I’m reclaiming some strength. Yay!

I’m even at a point now, where I find myself almost craving the class (a good sign)!

So tell...

Extra, Extra…

I’ve got a reading-related question for all of you today. newspaper3clipart

When you pick up a newspaper, what’s the first section you turn to? And the second?

Me? I’m a lifestyle/entertainment reader. After a glimpse at the front page stories…
