That Car
Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. I had to take the car in for service and the morning got away from me.
Which is why cars (the expensive little suckers) are on my mind now.
So here’s a question for you.
If you could buy a brand new car right now, what would you pick (make/model, color, must-have options, etc). We can dream, can’t we?

What I’m Reading…
Some reading updates on my end:
At the gym on Sunday morning, Istarted Harlan Coben’s HOME. OnceI finish this one, I’ll be all caught up onthe Myron Bolitar series.
On my computer, I’m reading what I have (so far) of my want-to project. Since I’ve had to put it down so many times in order to write my contracted work, I need to get back into the story again. I’ve found I can do that most easily after I’ve read it several times.
What are you reading?

Three Things
Another weekend is behind us. And while it was busy with more work-stuff (I sent off the copy edits–woot!), there were some really fun moments too…
On Friday afternoon, DH and I made a quick run down to the city to go to a pop-up store. I’ve never done that before, so it was interesting (and I got three pairs of pants–a feat for someone with long legs). On the way back to the car, we grabbed dinner…but no picture.
**so pretend there’s a picture of me with a shopping bag (a very rare sight) in...

Next Line
It was a dark and stormy night…
If you were writing this tale, what would be your next line? Be funny, be serious, whatever. Just tell us in the comments.

Fun Stuff
Went for a drive and a hike yesterday and it felt so good to get outside in the fresh air. We’re having some beautiful fall weather in the northeast right now, although the past day or so has had more summer-like temperatures.
Now, it’s back to work. Copy edits at the top of the stack.
But one thing I’ll also be working on this weekend, is a cooking/baking related post for one of my publishers. It won’t take long, but it’ll involve time with cookbooks and baking…two of my favorite things!

What Do You Recommend?
I turned in Final Pass Edits on THE SILENCE OF THE FLANS yesterday afternoon. Since I have to start copyedits on PATTERNED AFTER DEATH tomorrow, I’m taking today off.
In the meantime, recommend a book to me ( you know, for when I have time to read).

Three Things
This weekend went by in a little bit of a blur with work, but I’ve managed to pull out three things to share…
On Friday, I saw DEEPWATER HORIZON with DH.It was a good movie.
When we got home, we played a little backgammon…
On Saturday evening, after I got my work done, DD # 2 and I had an appetizer dinner (love doing that) and watched one of my favorite chick flicks, 27 Dresses (which she’d never seen).
And there you go. The rest of the weekend was about final pass edits on THE SILENCE OF...

A Break For Some Fun
Now that the 2nd book in the Tobi Tobias series has been written, my attention turns to the editing side of things. I knocked out 1/3 of it yesterday, but I also managed to have a little fun with my youngest at a paint-your-own pottery place.
It all still has to go through the kiln to get all shiny (and therefore will be about a week before we get it back), but the initial steps–the part we got to do with paint and paintbrushes was fun.
Today, while trying to get the second third under my bel...
