With one daughter heading back to college this weekend, and another heading back to school later next week, it seems only fitting we do some school-related Bits today!

1 ) So after a far longer “break” from writing than I’d intended thanks to one of life’s curveballs, I’m finally getting back in the saddle. What’s interesting about my current work in progress is that I started it nearly ten years ago before opting to put it aside to work on what became the Southern Sewing Circle Mysteries.

With school starting for my college kid in five days and my high school kid in nine days, it’s time to hit up the school supply aisles.

Normally, I despise shopping. It’s a known fact. But there’s always been something about school shopping that I love (geek, I know). Year after year, I find myself mentally revisiting my own school days and all the excitement that came with picking out a new lunch box. I swear, if I close my eyes, I can still smell that new-thermos smell…

My elliptical read at the moment is Harlan Coben’s PROMISE ME.I’m up on all his standalones, but felt it was time to familiarize myself with his Myron Bolitar character. So I’ve been plowing through the series this summer and only have two more to go before the new release in a few weeks.

Three Things

I came up with the idea of “three things” on my Monday morning as a way to truly see the things I’d done over the weekend. So often the little things get missed against thebusy-ness of life and this was/is an attempt to correct that.

Now that I’ve been doing it for the past month or so, I find myself soaking up what I am doing and being eager to share it(big or small) with all of you.

I’ll Tell an Oddity…

Yup. I’ve discovered an oddity that has me scratching my head a wee bit.

My car (8 years old–and in good shape despite high miles) developed a wet spot on the floor in front of the rear passenger seat. No one spilled anything.Yet there’s water.

Do I want to know?

I’m not sure.
