Summer Talk…But There
Today, I’m going to send you HERE.
Once there, you’ll find out what I miss about summertime when the kids were younger…
*sigh*
Feel free to come back here to comment though.

Three Things
I thought I’d share three good things from my weekend in the hopes you’ll share three good things about your weekend.
So here goes:
We saw Finding Dory…
(I’m happy to report the sea lions werenot bad guys–phew!)
We went on a hike that provided this beautiful view…
And DD # 2 made this peanut butter cup pie…
(and yes, it was as good as it looks)
Your turn…

Late, But Bits Nonetheless
Although my great uncle’s wake and funeral mass were on Tuesday, the graveside ceremony for the burial of his ashes was this morning. The local VFW did a ceremony (with a bugle and gun salute) to honor this WWII veteran. So that’s where I was this morning.
But I owe you all bits, so here goes…
What’s your favorite patriotic song? Is there a tradition, specific to America, that gets you misty-eyed? One plan for this weekend?Happy Father’s Day, Chris! And Happy Father’s Day to all the father...

The Why Behind The Appeal
One of my favorite parts of my job is going out and meeting readers once a book releases. I spend so much time all by myself in front of a keyboard, that having a stretch of time where I actually get to talk to people is a treat.
Generally speaking, the questions I get at book talks are fairly standard–where do I get my ideas from, how long does it take to write a book, do I outline, etc. But this past week, while in New Hampshire, a woman asked me why I write about crime.
I thought about it...

A Launch To Remember
I’m back…
With apologies for deserting everyone this past week.
My excuse is fairly simple–I was crazy busy with travel for thelaunch of Éclair and Present Danger.
The night before I left, the girls made me a cookie cake murder victim (because, you know, that’s what you do when your mom writes murder mysteries)…
Bright and early the next day, I boarded my flight to St. Louis.
Shortly after I landed, I was on the way to my neurologist’s office for my MS check-up and MRI/tests. When I was don...

Bitty Bits
Bits time!
If you could have any animal (other than the standard cat, dog, fish) as a pet, what would you choose and why? Someone offers to bake you anything you want. What do you request? Kayak or canoe? At the beach: lounge chair or blanket?Enjoy your weekend!

The Final Lead-Up
I thought I’d share a quick little behind-the-scenes today that will, hopefully, explain why I’m a bit hit or miss this week.
Launching a new book is always a busy time for a writer. But launching a new book in a new series? Well, that takes the busyness to a whole different level.
So with therelease of Éclair and Present Danger(the lead-off book in my new Emergency Dessert Squad Mysteries) just 5 days away, all the ground work I’ve been putting down the past few months is all coming together...

You can view it HERE.
Enjoy!
