When List Checking Proves Difficult

So as much as I love this time of year, it’s also a bit overwhelming at times because of all the things that need to get done. So today, I’m sharing my list, along with where I stand on that particular item at this time. We’ll call it a lesson in accountability…

Shopping (I’ve done absolutely nothing so far–not a single present purchased) Cards (Not yet purchased, therefore not done) Holiday decorating (Hey Ho! This one is done!) Package mailing (since # 1 has not happened, there’s nothing t...

Fun for the Soul

Although I’ve spent many hours walking in Central Park over the last 7 + years of so, I’ve always done it by foot. But yesterday, one of my oldest (in duration, not age) friends came to town for business and we managed to carve out some time to spend together. img_2916

We ate lunch at a great little Italian place on Columbus Avenue (just a few tables away from Anthony Geary of General Hospital fame, I might add), and then headed toward the park for a ride in a pedi-cab.Normally something tourists do,...

Now and Next

I’m back to writing a tonin preparation for yet another deadline–this onecoming upnext month. But I can tell you, I’m dreaming about reading, that’s for sure. Of course that dream also includes; 1) a blanket 2) no chores 3) a mug of hot cocoa and 4) warm, fresh-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies.

Three Things

A kinda busy (in spurts) and kinda not busy weekend around here. And honestly, it took me a moment tocome up with three things, although as soon as I did,I thought, “Yes!”

So here we go…

DD # 2 went off to her winter formal with the boy next door (literally) on Friday night. She looked beautiful in her dress as she was getting ready to go…

Saturday, DD # 2 and I decorated the downstairs family room (aka the TV room) with the extra tree/extra ornaments (the upstairs tree has all the special f...

Cold Weather Bits

snowmanI figured we’d make our bits fit the time of year today (though I hope I don’t jinx myself and entice snow to fall).

Flannel sheets or flannel pajamas? Hot chocolate or Hot Other? Favorite Christmas song? Build a snowman or make a snow angel?

Have a great weekend, everyone!

A Little Help With The Shopping Bags…

I’d like to pick your brains today, if I can…shopping bag

I haven’t started by gift-buying shopping yet at all. And while I’m not normally the type to finish super early, I’ve usually started at least some of it by now. It’s been a hard year on many levels and, as a result, I’m even less excited about “things” than ever.

I guess that’s whyI’m really wanting to do more experience kind of presents this year. Something my recipients can go and do (either with me or on their own) rather than simply have.

So I...
