A Slight Change of Plans And More

So I didn’t finish the book on Monday. There were just too many distractions and too much going on to carve out the kind of time I needed. And then yesterday was my birthday…and since I’d intended to be done on Monday, I’d claimed my birthday as a day off and I didn’t want to give that back.

Three Things…Sorta

Okay, so my three things from this weekend are pretty lame (and therefore not very picture-worthy).

I wrote…

I wrote…

And I wrote.

(Yep, I’m in the process of finishing up yet another book)

But I did squeeze in a little time for some Super Mario Brothers.

Bits of Bits of Bits

Bits time!

When it comes to hot chocolate, do you prefer marshmallows or not? When it comes to soup, what’s your favorite kind? Have you ever blister-burned yourself? If so, on what? Is your tree still up?

At The Movies

Yesterday afternoon, after I’d gotten my 8 pages for the day, DD # 1 and I went to the theater to see Fences. It’s a movie with a lot of buzz mostly because of the powerhouses (Denzel Washington and Viola Davis) headlining it. Their performances in their respective roles were powerful, to say the least, but alongside them were two actors I’m not familiar with–Jovan Adepo and Mykelti Williamson. Yet now, as I was writing this post, I looked up Mykelti and he actually played Bubba in Forest Gum...

Goaling

So now that we’re four days into 2017, I have to ask… Did you make any goals for this year (goals being my preferred word over resolutions)?

Here are my three biggest:

To arrange my deadlines in such a way that I can take the bulk of the summer off. If # 1 works out, I’d like to try something creative I’ve not done before (to help fill the writing well a bit). This could be a craft, music, not sure what yet. I want to take 1 day every month this year as a me-day. Where I actually go and do s...

Under The Tree

Okay, big two-part question for you today.

Did you get any books for Christmas? If so, what did you get?

Three Things

Wow, 2017…

I had a very nice (quiet–just the way I like it) weekend and am looking forward to what I hope will be a happier year. As for three things from my weekend, here we go…

Since DH was working and DD # 2 was having a sleepover at a friend’s, DD # 1 and I were on our own for New Year’s Eve. We had a grand time grazing on appetizers and treats all night, while watching a few movies on the DVD player…

Then, on New Year’s Day, DH was off watching football and the girls and I went to Bear...

NYE E Bits

It’s New Years Eve EVE, and I’m thinking our Bits need to reflect that today…

A personal positive from 2016? A personal goal for 2017? Where will you be when the ball drops this year? Casey Kasem or Ryan Seacrest?

Have a great New Year’s Eve, everyone. I hope 2017 brings you much joy, good health, and whatever success means to you.

Hugs,

~Elizabeth (aka Laura)

Three Things

I’m thinking I’ll only post twice during this week between Christmas and New Year’s. So for the first post of the week, I thought I’d do a Three Things from my Christmas weekend!

In keeping with the annual tradition I started when my girls were babies, I presented each of them with a new ornament to reflect on something special from their 2016. This year it was a scene from Hansel and Gretel for DD # 1 in honor of that being one of the shows she performed in this past summer, and a nod to DD...
