Cover Art Contest
For the June 20th Summer Edition, we will be holding another Cover Art Contest for everyone to enjoy.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can a cover DESIGNER participate? Of course. Can an author participate even if they did not design their cover? Yep. Is there a limit on the number of covers that I submit? Please, only send one cover per author/design company. Can you submit a cover that has participated in a previous Cover Art Contest? We ask that you only submit a cover once to one of our contests. What about AI art? As long as a human had a hand in creating part of the cover, it is fine to submit it. Does it matter what genre the book is? No, but keep it clean!
SUBMISSIONS & VOTING
Submissions began April 15 and will go through April 27. (Submissions are completely FREE). Submit your cover at the link below. Voting will begin April 29 and go through May 11. (Voting is also FREE). The winner will be announced May 16 in our Newsletter. See our website for the small print. The winner will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card and the other covers will be included in the magazine along with their submission information. The winner will also receive a certificate with a special 3D-printed medallion (only within the US).
This contest is sponsored by Author Jessica Bertrand (jessicabertrand.com), Noble Worlds Press (nobleworlds.com), and Candle Realm Studio (candlerealmstudio.com).
Summer Writing Contest: The Summer 2024 Windows into the Multiverse Contest has begun accepting submissions! The photo found on the "Contest" page of our website is of the silhouette of a man standing on a beach during sunset. To participate, you are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo below as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions will open April 1-30. Please keep your submission to between 1,000 and 1,500 words. To submit your story fill out the form found on the “Contests” page of our website (cleanfictionmagazine.com). We will not use your micro-stories without your permission and the winner/s will be sent pages for approval. The winner/s will appear in our June 20th Summer Edition along with the image on this page. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, there will be either winners in several genre categories OR an overall winner. Winners will be announced on May 9th. Each winner or the overall winner will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card and an author feature ($40 value). The winner/s will be decided by the Clean Fiction staff and excerpts of each submission may be used for promotional purposes. We cannot wait to read what you write about this new image and are excited to read your submissions! This Contest is Sponsored by the Strangers & Aliens Podcast (StrangersAndAliens.com) and Author C.S. Wachter (CSWachter.com).

Writing Contest Open!
“When in April the sweet showers fall
That pierce March’s drought to the root and all
And bathed every vein in liquor that has power
To generate therein and sire the flower.”
~ Geoffrey Chaucer
Realizing that even Chaucer back in the 14th century was trying to find the silver lining of the oppressive onslaught of gray rainclouds that are the characteristic harbingers of Spring, did brighten my rainy day just a bit. Spring is my absolute favorite season (obviously not due to the rain). The fresh smell of growing things, the hours of sunlight increasing by the day, and less and less need for wearing excessive outer layers. Do you find that the season of the year influences what kind of books you are interested in reading? If so, check out the Community Activity below!

Happy Easter!
Allow me to wish all of you a Happy Easter! When we reflect on God's sacrifice for us it lends new gravity to the everyday life experience. Just like a superhero taking a fatal bullet for another, Jesus with full access to His ultimate powers chose to die in our place. He focused on the eternal war and not the ephemeral battle. Though we may sometimes wish for superheroes to be real, to fix all that is wrong with this world, we can rest assured that our Lord and Savior is more powerful, more caring, and more able to protect us than any other being in this wide universe of ours. "Though sorrow may last forth the night, joy comes in the morning!" May your heart be strengthened by the knowledge that despite anything that you might have done or may do, Jesus would go to the cross for you again and again if it were necessary. That is why we celebrate the sacrifice that was powerful enough to destroy all hope of evil prevailing. He is Risen!
A New Opportunity: Our magazine has drawn the attention of a popular Christian podcast: The Blimey Cow Podcast. I have been enjoying the Blimey Cow YouTube channel for at least a decade if not longer. It is run by a pair of brothers who grew up in the homeschool space. The thought had crossed my mind that their audience would be perfect for our magazine, but I felt that their channel was too large to be reachable for a small publication like ours. Long story short, the brothers have given me a very reasonable sponsorship opportunity after seeing the quality and content of our magazine! So check out the Blimey Cow Podcast weekly in April to support the magazine and feel free to give them a thumbs up if you enjoy the show.
Clean Fiction Audio: Our next release will be Contemporary Superheroes - Clean Fiction Audio Ep. 6 so keep an eye on our YouTube Channel: CleanFiction.
Submissions Begin for the Writing Contest: The Summer 2024 Windows into the Multiverse Contest will be accepting submissions starting April 1st! Successful Launch Day!
I'm BACK! Oh, it is so good to have the newest magazine out in the world! Before I head on to housekeeping and other information, let me give you the good news about Launch Day. We hit Top New Release in Literary Criticism Reference. This surprises me every time even though we have hit #1 New Release 9 times running now. I am deeply humbled that a person from nowhere Amish country can reach so many with a publication about Clean Fiction. A special thank you to our reviewers, columnists, serial authors, and devotional authors. You guys are GREAT!
In case you missed it, this past 8 months or so has been a trying time for me both personally and professionally. While working several jobs (on top of this one), being a wife and mom, and volunteering, I haven't had a moment to breathe in quite a long time. This is not a complaint, just a fact. This last edition took me to the last 6 hours before the deadline, and I don't want to cut it that close again for sure. But through it all, God used many of you to give me that little extra push to keep moving forward when I thought that I could not go one more step. This portion of the race was a long one and I don't count on the finish line approaching any time soon. Your encouragement means the world to me. Thank you for letting the Lord use you as He continues to use us all for His glory.
In case you missed it: I just had an interview with Steven over at YouTube: FindingGodinVideoGames. We talked about a range of topics including my motivations, God's leading, the publishing industry, and persecution within the church. It was a light-hearted fun time and I think that you would enjoy it. You can find the video here: https://youtu.be/6_THDR6LN7o?si=T4guz...
Clean Fiction Audio: Now that the Spring Edition 2024 is finished you should be seeing more uploads in the coming weeks. I had to pause my progress to complete the magazine on time and with that out of the way I can get back to work on the 4-5 scripts that are already ready for narration.
Issues with the Paperback: I officially released the paperback version of the Spring Edition 2024 on March 16th (Amazon's due date) and was able to order copies for all of our Yearly Paperback Subscribers and Patreon Subscribers. Since that date, I have received my full-price copy and the other ordered copies are still in the midst of being shipped, but the listing now shows the paperback version as "Out of Stock" or "Currently Unavailable". I have been in contact with Amazon and they "fixed" it this morning, but unfortunately, the paperback (which now has 2 Amazon listings) is again showing that it cannot be purchased. If you want a paperback copy, you will have to order directly through our website for the time being using the link below. It does take longer to ship, but longer is better than not at all.
May your day be bright and your reading be epic!

Cover Reveal Day!
To View Cover Visit:
sunsetvalleycreations.com/editions
I know. I know. I am a day early, but this is the time I had to send out this exciting news! Behold the cover of the Clean Fiction: Spring Edition 2024. We hadn't done a fantasy cover in a while and I thought that this awesome illustration by the artist Malchev of St. George and the Dragon fit the bill. In case you didn't know, the story of St. George and the Dragon was one of the OG fantasy stories that made the rounds. According to Wikipedia, the story can be traced back to the 11th century. True the account is not as old as the legend of Arthur, but this is one of the first "Christian Knights of the Realm" stories. I also enjoyed the symbolism of the story and can see the clear influence that it has had on fantasy writing even today. I hope that you love it as much as I do! The magazine will go up for preorder in the next couple of days so make sure to keep an eye out!
The $5 Off Coupon is only good for one more day! Our magazine relies solely on the support of advertising. If you even have a passing support for what we do, tell your family, friends, and followers about our great publication. You may not see me on social media or in a newsletter until the magazine is ready for print. If you could pray that the next couple of weeks goes smoothly, I would really appreciate it. I cannot wait to share all the great reviews that our reviewers have in store for you as well as the micro-stories, devotions, articles...there is too much to list. Please Lord make my eyes sharp and my hands swift. Onward!
May your day be bright and your reading be epic!

I know.
If you would like to support us more substantially, place an advertisement with this coupon before March 1st or become a Patreon subscriber for as little as $1/month!
