Can a cover DESIGNER participate? Of course. Can an author participate even if they did not design their cover? Yep. Is there a limit on the number of covers that I submit? New Writing Contest
Winter 2023 Writing Contest
The painting below is what I prefer to call a “Window”. In a way paintings, photos, and other visual arts are “Windows” into another space. Whether it is in the artist’s mind or a recreation of an actual place, these “Windows” allow us to pause for a moment and see someone else’s view.
Why the “Multiverse” then? Many authors use paintings, photos, and other visual arts in order to inspire them to create whole new universes and times for us to enjoy. Who is the owner of this cottage? I cannot wait to read about them.
This popular contest is a of staple our magazine and will continue to accept submissions quarterly.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo below as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions will open October 1-31. Please keep your submission to between 1,000 and 1,500 words. Send your micro-story, your name as you would like it to appear, the genre of the story, your social media handle/website, and an email for contact purposes to info@cleanfictionmagazine.com. We will not use your micro-stories without your permission and the winner/s will be sent pages for approval.
The winner/s will appear in our December 20th Winter Edition along with the image on this page. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, there will be either winners in several genre categories OR an overall winner. Winners will be announced on November 9th. Each winner or the overall winner will receive a $20 Amazon Gift Card and an author feature ($40 value). The winner/s will be decided by the Clean Fiction staff and excerpts of each submission may be used for promotional purposes. #1 New Release
We have done it AGAIN! 7 for 7 we have been #1 New Release on Amazon at the time of launching our magazine, and this time was no exception! I was worried yesterday that the new genre sorting system that Amazon is now forcing on everyone was going to hurt both our sales and our stats, but it turns out these worries were unfounded. One of our Discord members shot me a message this morning full of congratulations on hitting #1 once again. 7 Editions
Lucky Number 7! I am not really sure what makes this particular number considered the lucky one, but eh? *shrug* why not? We are getting to the point with the number of editions that I can barely fit them nicely in the banner anymore! I am so excited to show you all of our reviewer's, columnists', and author's hard work! Unless I get things scheduled today, social media is going to be quiet for a bit because I am going into Full Editor Mode. You will also not be hearing from me next week on the 14th because I will be rushing to get the magazine to print. If you wouldn't mind sending up a quick prayer for my stamina and sanity, I would appreciate it! Happy Cover Reveal Day!
I know, I know...it is not September 1st yet, BUT I will be having a pretty crazy day at the library tomorrow soooooooo.... TA DA!!! The cover was illustrated by Valeriy Kachaev once again. Though it does not feature our Savior this time around it does feature a couple in a moment of healing. Our magazine strives to keep things light while also being real. This touching image of a couple beginning a new chapter of their relationship together was so touching to me. This gentle embrace of love moved my heart and made me smile. Life and Contest Update
I am sure many of you have noticed that I have been less available on social media and via email over the last few weeks. I did mention in my "Life Update" blog/newsletter that I landed a job as a librarian and that I had a lot of work ahead of me to get the library ready to be used. Well, it was even more intense than I first anticipated. Thankfully, yesterday was my first day of school and the crazy intensity of the last month has borne fruit. Also, with my children now in school I can finally put in the hours I need to have the Autumn Edition 2023 ready for print. I am extremely grateful for all the patience everyone has shown me as I have gone through this transition and I look forward to what the Lord has in store.
Now, for the contest update! Though the Cosplay Contest did not have a huge amount of costume submissions, the ones that did come in are great! So creative! The votes have been coming in steadily too. Right now our leader is Cosplay 2 created by Casey L Covel her character is Vash the Stampede from Trigun STAMPEDE and you can find her on Instagram/Facebook under cutsceneaddict. Make sure that you cast your vote because there are only 2 more days to make your voice heard!
