Cover Reveal Day is June 1st
Hello All! I know that Cover Reveal Day is coming up on June 1st, but I just couldn't wait to share this new cover with you! Let's just let it be our little secret that you are seeing this 4 days early, okay? When I stumbled upon this illustration of Jesus in my favorite kitsch style, I thought that the choice would be a bold one. Not everyone has the confidence to be as overtly Christian as this, but after some prayer, I took the plunge. If we end up losing readers because of my choice to flaunt my faith, so be it. Anywho, I hope you all enjoy this powerful version of our Savior. May His grace be upon us!
The next several weeks are going to be a bit crazy, so you won't be hearing much of me if at all. We may not have another newsletter until after the magazine goes to print. So if you don't hear from me, don't worry! I am still plugging along, trying to make this next edition the best one yet!
May your day be bright and your reading be epic!
~ Amy Lynn McConahy, Clean Fiction Publisher

Another Welcome
Hello All! I am busy, busy, busy! With the end of the school year approaching (I have 3 kiddos and I work at their school as a librarian), I am running around like a chicken AND as usual, laying out pages as fast as I can. As I work my way forward, like a good little worker bee, I am excited to share that we have two more authors joining our team! Margaret Gaffney will be joining us as our Romantasy Reviewer, and M.H. Elrich will be joining us as another Devotional Author. Check out their information below and show them some love on social media or their websites!
Margaret Gaffney
Romantasy Reviewer
margaretgaffney.wixsite.com/mgauthor
Instagram: margaretgaffneyofficial
Margaret Gaffney is a young and new adult fantasy and romance writer who seeks to tell exciting and meaningful stories that stir the soul. Her debut novel, Of Slaves and Exiles, was released in 2020. She resides in Ohio with her family.
M.H. Elrich
Devotional Author
books.mhelrich.com
Instagram: mhelrichbooks
Substack: mhelrich
M.H. Elrich is a Christian author who seeks to honor the Trinity in her writing. She hopes that her words will encourage women to draw closer to God, whether that is through her fantasy series or her weekly devotionals. Her work has been featured in Clean Fiction Magazine, Finding God in Anime Volume 2, and Where Giants Fall. She is currently writing and publishing a Christian Fantasy Series.
We need your help! Our Reviewers were overachievers this season! That means more pages and more space for advertising. Help us fill up our pages with small businesses! Does your business have to be book-themed? Nope! Any business where you can ship products, download products/services, and is CLEAN is welcome. For example, we are currently advertising for "The Forge of Creation", an indoor gardening company, and Cody Bannon, a Graphic Designer. So if you have a small business (or a large one, we don't discriminate), please consider supporting our publication via advertising.
May your day be bright and your reading be epic!

Contests in Full Swing
Hello All! Our contest season is in full swing as both our Windows into the Multiverse Writing Contest and our Cover Art Contest are both accepting submissions. Our Cover Art Contest is in need of sponsors. We have room for 4 more sponsors. For those of you who didn't know, not only are our Contest Sponsors featured on our website and social media during the contest, but your Sponsor Banner is also printed in the upcoming edition as a page header or footer. Don't miss out on this opportunity! Submit a sponsor request here: https://forms.wix.com/f/7186034940482...
Some exciting news! As of this season's magazine, we are rolling out a new cost-effective option for advertising in our magazine: Business Line Ads. We soft-launched this last edition without giving the category any press, but now we are ready to share this great option with all of you!
Would you like to advertise your author business or book, but you don't want to break the bank? Try our NEW Business Line Ads! These advertisements appear as plain text in the body of the magazine. The first 1-5 words can be bold and capitalized. After that, the words are plain justified text. It is $5 for the first 20 words and then 25 cents per word after the first 20. This price is per edition. If you are not sure what counts as a word, it's easy: every space begins a new word. Websites only count as one word. Because 20 words comes out to $5 at 25 cents a word, that means that 40 words is $10 and 60 words is $15. Make sense?
You can also use our Line Ad format to run a shout-out or memorial listing in an upcoming edition. If you really liked your friend's book, why not purchase a short Line Ad to show your appreciation? Maybe you want to share a particularly good review with the Clean Fiction Community? The Business Line Ad is your new best friend.
I am so excited to share this new cost-effective option with the Clean Fiction Community. If you are looking for other low-cost options, we have Event Listings $5, Website Banners $10/mo., Contest Sponsorship $25/edition, and 1/2 Column Ads $25/edition.
To place your Business Line Ad: https://forms.wix.com/f/7285013451737...
To place your Event Listing: https://forms.wix.com/f/7171465139214...

COVER ART CONTEST: We have 18 submissions for this contest so far with only two more days to submit. Submissions go through April 26. (Submissions are completely FREE). Submit your cover at the link below. Voting will begin April 28 and go through May 10. (Voting is also FREE). The winner will be announced May 15 in our Newsletter. See our website for the small print.

WRITING CONTEST: We would love to read your story and you only have 6 more days to submit! To participate, you are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo on the "Contests" page of our website as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions are open through April 30. Please keep your submission between 1,000 and 1,500 words. We cannot wait to read what you write about this new image and are excited to read your submissions!

Happy Easter!
Hello All! As we head into Easter weekend, I wanted to take a moment to talk about MY favorite part of the Easter story. We took the kids to see the King of Kings movie this past weekend, and it really touched my heart. Every time I think of our Savior's sacrifice and His defeat of death, I can't help but tear up, though I would argue that my favorite part of the story isn't what you would expect. My favorite part happened on Good Friday when the Lord took the curtain that separated the temple from the Holy of Holies and tore it from top to bottom. The image of that thick, tall curtain ripping from the highest point is the most emotional for me. All the barriers between us and God were removed in that one symbolic action. As if allowing His Son to be sacrificed wasn't dramatic enough, God made His intentions impossible to ignore when He took a 60-foot-tall curtain and rent it in two. Every time I am able to reach out in prayer or cry out to our Lord in the dark of night, it is because the veil between us has been divided by Jesus' sacrifice. Thank Him for His sacrifice and celebrate His defeat of death this weekend and every day after. Amen. Amen.

Summer Writing Contest
Hello All! We have a lot to get through this week so let's get into it! The submissions for the Windows into the Multiverse Writing Contest have continued to roll into our inbox. This is a super low-key entry process for those of you who don't know. Submissions are free, you get the opportunity to have one of your works published professionally, and it is a good chance to flex your writing muscles. Because of the low word count requirements, it should not take you long to craft your micro-story and due to us running the contest quarterly, you have 4 opportunities per year to be published. Participating is easy. You are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo on the "Contests" page of our website as inspiration. COVER ART CONTEST SUBMISSIONS BEGIN APRIL 14: For the June 20th Summer Edition 2025, we will be holding another Cover Art Contest for everyone to enjoy. We will also continue to hold our Cover Art Contest quarterly. Can a cover DESIGNER participate? Of course. Can an author participate even if they did not design their cover? Yep. Is there a limit on the number of covers that I submit? Please, only send one cover per author/design company. Can you submit a cover that has participated in a previous Cover Art Contest? We ask that you only submit a cover once to one of our contests. What about AI art? As long as a human had a hand in creating part of the cover, it is fine to submit it. Surprise Special Edition
Hello All! I have an exciting announcement! Clean Fiction Magazine will be attending the upcoming RealmMaker's Expo in July! I am looking forward to meeting so many of you in person. Due to my husband and I having young children, we were not able to attend after our first visit in 2021, but now we can travel with a bit more confidence. And because of the prep work that I have been doing lately, you all can enjoy a SURPRISE Special Edition of Clean Fiction launching on April 20th. Why? You may ask, well...I may have set out to make a table freebie and ended up with 110 pages worth, definitely not freebie length. Our Special Edition is a compilation of every Windows into the Multiverse winning micro-story from Spring 2022 to Spring 2025. If you are a person who prefers anthologies or wants to see the competition when it comes to our writing contest, this Special Edition should interest you. Our Yearly Ebook Subscribers and Patreon Subscribers already have access, but it will not become widely available until April 20th. This is a full-color print replica edition and I just loved compiling all of these great story pages.

Update & Contest News
Hello All and Welcome to All of Our New Readers! The last two weeks have been wild ones. For those of you who do not know, publishing this magazine is not my only job. I am also a private Christian school librarian, help my family's 53-year running weekly paper, co-lead the music program at our church, and my most time-consuming job of all, raising our 3 young children. ALL of these came together to create a bit of chaos over the last two weeks. I ran an in-person book fair at the school while finishing the latest magazine layout, dealt with the weekly struggles of organizing a bunch of people to sing, juggled the phone and increased traffic of the Spring season at the paper, and managed to deliver my paper route last Thursday before heading to States for Archery with our 10-year-old and the rest of my family for the weekend. Needless to say, I am still recovering (heh heh). All of this was not to brag, but to explain why I have been a bit spotty on email and social media these past couple of weeks. Now, with that out of the way, let's move on to our contest news!
Our Next Contest is Our Quarterly Writing Contest:
WINDOWS INTO THE MULTIVERSE
The photo (found on the "Contests" page of our website) is what I prefer to call a “Window”. In a way paintings, photos, and other visual arts are “Windows” into another space. Whether it is in the artist’s mind or a recreation of an actual place, these “Windows” allow us to pause for a moment and see someone else’s view. Why the “Multiverse” then? Many authors use paintings, photos, and other visual arts in order to inspire them to create whole new universes and times for us to enjoy. When you look at this image where do you go? What do they see through the window?
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
You are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo below as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions will open April 1-30. Please keep your submission to between 1,000 and 1,500 words. To submit your story fill out the form found on the “Contests” page of our website. We will not use your micro-stories without your permission and the winner/s will be sent pages for approval. The winners will appear in our June 20th Summer Edition along with the image on this page. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, there will be either winners in several genre categories OR an overall winner. Winners will be announced on May 8th Each winner or the overall winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift card, a printable winner’s certificate, a 3D printed “medallion”, and an author feature ($40 value).* The winners will be decided by the Clean Fiction staff and excerpts of each submission may be used for promotional purposes. We cannot wait to read what you write about this new image and are excited to read your submissions!
This Contest is Sponsored by the Strangers & Aliens Podcast (StrangersAndAliens.com).
We have room for one more sponsor for this contest. More information can be found here: https://www.sunsetvalleycreations.com...
* Prizes will not be distributed until after the magazine goes to print. Medallions are only shipped in the continental United States.
I just finished packing up the last magazine's medallions and will be mailing them out soon. I can't wait to see what you do with this quarter's image. I expect a lot of interesting micro-stories about the man, the girl, and the dog. You guys are great so I am sure they will be good reads!
Tune in next week to hear more about this contest and the upcoming quarterly Cover Art Contest or pop over to our website to learn more now! (cleanfictionmagazine.com)
