Happy Release Day!

Hello All! The Clean Fiction Community has helped us to top the charts once more for the 13th time. The sun has not yet risen on my part of the world and you all are already hard at work showing secular society what you prefer, books without smut, books that focus on positive themes, and books that take adventure and adversity toward endings that mean more. I am once again humbled by your support. As of this July, it will be 4 years that I have toiled away on this mission in the "free time" that I don't have as a working mother. From a few authors that I managed to connect with online, I now work with 23 like-minded Christians to hopefully bring you the levity and lightheartedness that is missing in our reading culture. Thank you for your support and ONWARD!

Where can I find Clean Fiction Magazine?

The easiest and cheapest way is to purchase a Yearly Ebook Subscription directly through our website. It is powered by Paypal and only costs $10/year. This gives you access to ALL our editions through our Members Area and the newest editions will be directly emailed to you. (https://www.sunsetvalleycreations.com...)

We also have magazines available for purchase on our Patreon for $3 each or $20 for all. These are accessible or downloadable via Patreon if their service makes you more comfortable. (patreon.com/cleanfiction)

Lastly, we have Amazon where a Print Replica Ebook and Paperback editions are available. We receive the least amount from these purchases, but I want to maintain easy access for those who prefer to use their service. (https://www.amazon.com/Clean-Fiction-...?)

Any way that you choose to support our magazine, either as a reader, author, or supporter, is greatly appreciated. Be on the lookout next week for upcoming contest news as we begin work on the next edition and thanks for your prayers, they worked!

May your day be bright and your reading be epic!
~ Amy Lynn McConahy, Clean Fiction Publisher

REMINDER:
We cannot continue to publish our magazine without your help! Please consider either becoming an advertiser, supporting Clean Fiction on Patreon, or directly supporting us with a Yearly Subscription (for as little as $10/year!).

Cover Reveal Day!

Hello All! First of all, I would like to thank everyone who responded to our extended deadline. We met our goal and the next magazine will be chalked full of great book suggestions and businesses that you will just love! Something else that I hope you love is our new cover which is a couple of days early, I know, but I just couldn't wait to share it with you! This pilot was just so triumphant looking and I thought she would be just perfect for our publication. If you have a suggestion for one of our covers or are an artist who illustrates in this style, send me an email, I'm always open to checking out something new!

In other news, we have a new reviewer who was added at the last minute to the Spring Edition 2025. Please, give a warm welcome to our Cozy Reviewer, Jen Dodrill!

Jen Dodrill, Cozy Reviewer
Facebook: Jen Dodrill Writes
Instagram: @jendodrillwrites
Amazon: Jen Dodrill
Goodreads: Jen Dodrill

Jen Dodrill is living out her dreams on the pages of her books, bringing readers compelling stories of inspiration and hope for good times and bad. Her family-focused novels depict her values of cooperation, connection, compassion, and community, demonstrating the importance of helping one another brave the waves of the world together. As a mother of five, family life and travels have left her with decades of stories to tell, and she cherishes the time she has now to tell them, in between her honored role as Grandma, her passion for reading, and her adoration of all things coffee. Her first book, Birds Alive! An Empty-nesters Cozy Mystery was released in 2024. Book #2 in the series, Where’s the Quetzal, was released February 25, 2025. Book #3, No Egrets, will be published in 2026. For more information about Jen, her books, writing tips, and author interviews, check out her blog: https://jendodrillwrites.com/

Lastly, we have some hard news to share. Because we now offer our magazines on Patreon, we can no longer offer them on Kindle Unlimited. I know that we have some dedicated Kindle Unlimited readers, but the exclusivity has not helped to expand our distribution. Thank you for your understanding and remember ALL of our magazines are available for a tiny fee of $10/year directly on our website.

May your day be bright and your reading be epic!
~ Amy Lynn McConahy, Clean Fiction Publisher

P.S.
This will be the last newsletter until after the magazine has gone to print because I am rather behind. If you wouldn't mind saying a little prayer for my sanity, I would appreciate it!

I was watching as the number of orders ticked up and up and in case you missed it on social media, we topped the Consumer Guides, Literary Criticism Reference, and Books & Reading Literary Criticism lists with our most recent edition, the Winter Edition 2024. We also took 1-8, 1-9, and 1 & 3 in these categories with our other magazines. Man alive! The Clean Fiction Community is GREAT! We ended up giving away a total of 1,062 magazines in 3 days and our KDP pages read hit over 700 during this time as well. And right on the heals of this success, we started voting for the Spring Cover Art Contest!

Please, only send one cover per author/design company. Can you submit a cover that has participated in a previous Cover Art Contest? We ask that you only submit a cover once to one of our contests. What about AI art? As long as a human had a hand in creating part of the cover, it is fine to submit it. Does it matter what genre the book is? No, but keep it clean!

Submissions will go through January 25. (Submissions are completely FREE). Submit your cover at the link below. Voting will begin January 27 and go through February 8. (Voting is also FREE). January 9, 2025

Welcome 2025!

Hello All! I hope that all of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. Personally, I am happy that I decided to take a break because now I can tackle 2025 with gusto. There is so much happening this year that I cannot wait to share it all with the Clean Fiction Community! In the coming weeks, we will be welcoming new reviewers, columnists, serial authors, and of course celebrating Writing Contest and Cover Art Contest winners! If you didn't already know, we have 17 reviewers (including myself) currently contributing to our magazine and more advertising supporters than I can count. That means that our magazine, which reached over 150 pages twice last year, will be growing yet again as we add more spectacular writers to our roster.

But enough about our plans for the year, what are yours? Are you launching a book this year? If so, consider placing an Event Listing with us! For just $5 your book will be listed on our website and in our magazine until your book is launched. So the earlier you place your Event Listing the further your $5 will go! Then, because we LOVE our authors, we run your book information for an additional quarter as a Recent Release. I dare you to find a better deal than this anywhere in advertising. That means that if you are launching a book in December your book information can be featured through the beginning of 2026. The $5/Event Listing price also extends to publishing houses so tell your publishing friends about this great deal!

And now for some contest news... Windows into the Multiverse Writing Contest submissions have begun!!!

SPRING WRITING CONTEST: You are asked to write a micro-story beginning with “Through the window, I saw...” using the photo found on the "Contests" page of our website as inspiration. The only restriction on your creativity is that you keep your micro-story clean. All genres are accepted. Submissions will open January 1-31. We will not use your micro-stories without your permission and the winner/s will be sent pages for approval. The winners will appear in our March 20th Spring Edition along with the image on this page. Depending on the number of submissions we receive, there will be either winners in several genre categories OR an overall winner. Winners will be announced on February 6th. Each winner or the overall winner will receive a $20 Amazon gift card, a printable winner’s certificate, a 3D printed “medallion”, and an author feature ($40 value).* The winners will be decided by the Clean Fiction staff and excerpts of each submission may be used for promotional purposes. We cannot wait to read what you write about this new image and are excited to read your submissions!

This Contest is Sponsored by the Strangers & Aliens Podcast (StrangersAndAliens.com) and Author Kelly F. Barr (KellyFBarr.com).

* Prizes will not be distributed until after the magazine goes to print. Medallions are only shipped in the continental United States.

And that's all for now! Talk to you next week and until then...

May your day be bright and your reading be epic!

Winter Edition 2024

Hello All! We did it again! #1 New Release in Literary Criticism Reference. WOO HOO! That is 12 times in a row. Thank you so much for your continued support of our publication. Tomorrow is the official Release Day. I know that I released the magazine early, but I still get excited when the official Release Day comes around! After release day, Clean Fiction Authors are free to share their review pages with their family, friends, and followers. It is so fun being tagged in posts across the Clean Fiction Community. I do my best to reshare and give each author a bit of the release day spotlight. We even have our first review of the magazine!

So Many Good Book Recommendations!

I love the fact this magazine gives readers who love clean books a rating system so they can better understand what type of content is in a book before taking a chance on it. It showcases so many different genres, illustrative fiction, indie and traditionally published authors, and new and old releases so you can better find a book that fits your preferences. So many books nowadays that you think would be clean are filled with filth and they give you no warning ahead of time. So I am so glad to find a magazine that not only showcases clean fiction books to make them easier to find, but also rates them on levels of clean so you can make an informed decision before purchasing a book for yourself, your child or your grandchild. Keep up the great work!

Thanks, Miranda! We really appreciate your 5 Star Review! If you want to help the magazine to reach more readers, please share your thoughts online as well.

Lastly, before we head off into Christmas Break, I wanted to wish all of you the best Christmas and a Happy New Year. God has blessed us this last year and if it is His will we will continue into the new year walking the path that He has put before us. I have a prayer for you originating from my Irish roots.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

Well, you won't hear from me until the dawn of the new year so keep an eye out in 2025!

May your day be bright and your reading be epic!
~ Amy Lynn McConahy, Clean Fiction Publisher

Early Release!

Hello All! You read that heading correctly! I have already released the Winter Edition 2024 more than a week early AND you can receive your copy BEFORE Christmas! I worked my tail off last week to bring the magazine to you as early as I possibly could and after pulling a 14-hour day on Tuesday, Ta DA! Okay enough with the exclamation marks. I am happy to announce that there are 151 pages for you to enjoy AND if you order quickly (before Amazon updates the price) you can snag a paperback for $12.31 instead of $13.00. Our magazine would be the perfect gift for the book lover in your life, and if you pair it with an Amazon gift card, they can purchase all their favorites for Christmas. Accidentally A Dragon Shifter
(Fiery Shift Duology 1)
By Janeen Ippolito

She said “yes” to the proposal
She didn’t expect the dragons.

When Kelley’s carefree boyfriend Anthony Salamandras pops the question, she figures it must be a joke.

Nope. He’s serious. And he’s a dragon shifter.

Thanks to a quick abduction and transformation on his planet, so is she.

Kelley didn’t sign up for this. But she has her own allies.

And she’s gonna show him just what the daughter of a vacuum cleaner repairman is made of.

A light-hearted urban fantasy novella duology with romcom vibes a la My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Perfect quick read with a derpy alpha-beta and a gamer/mythology nerd. Low PG-13 with a bit of mild language, some innuendo, and some kissing.
