Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

How do we follow in the footsteps of the One 'who did not sin'?Through God, even as sinners, we are challenged to be like Jesus, just as He was "predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son" (Romans 8:29) so that his Son could be established in us (see Galatians 8:29). It is in doing so that those who choose to be like Him will continue to carry out the good works that He began. #continuetocarrythetorch

Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

How have your failures and mistakes hindered, maybe even defined, who you are? When we begin to understand that our failures and mistakes are our greatest successes as well as teachers, we can set ourselves free from this mindset; and it is through God's amazing grace, glory, and goodness, (see 2 Peter 1:2-4), that we are able to do so. #learnfromyourfailuresandmistakes #grow & #be

When called to serve "like a good soldier," (2 Timothy 2:3), how will you respond? In order to serve and serve well, we are commanded to "be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus" (v. 1). It is because of His grace that He is empathetic, just as Abe Lincoln was, to our weaknesses, along with forgiving our failures (Hebrews 4:15). #servefaithfully #selflessly & #withcompassion

Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

When our hearts become prideful and says "I am a god," (Ezekiel 28:2), we need to consider taking a long hard look at ourselves and look at Ezekiel 28:6-7. Ezekiel humbly reminds us that there is only one god, a humble one, who loves and cares for us all the same. If you need to be humbled, seek Him. #livevirtuously

Music has the ability to touch our lives in ways that nothing else can, just as the Lord does. With His influence, we should consider "sing[ing] to the Lord, for he has done glorious things" (Isaiah 12:5). Next time you begin to sing, remember "How good it is to sing praises to our God" (Psalm 147:1). #beinspired #singHispraises & #impactothers

When desperate, who do you turn to? We should consider looking "to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago" (Isaiah 22:11). He is the One who can help us when we become desperate for answers and solutions to our problems. #seekHimfirst

How influential are others, when it comes to making your own decisions? Paul, in Romans 12:2, encourages us to "not conform to the pattern of this world," but be "transformed by the renewing of [our] mind." When we release ourselves from other influences and turn to the voice of reason, God, we are able to see and understand the world better and begin to think for ourselves. #makingmindfulchoicesanddecisions

What kind of person do you want to become or resemble? As part of His creation (see Colossians 1:16), we are given the opportunity to become Christ-like. In an effort to become such a person, through prayer and scripture, He shows us how to be loving, caring, forgiving, and trusting, among many other noteworthy characteristics. If these are characteristics that you would like to develop and possess, you know where to look. #aspiretobecome

Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

Need help? Psalm 34:4 and 55:22 directs us to our SOS. It is through God that we, and like David did, (see 1 Samuel 21), can cast our cares, cries, and pleas. When we reach out to Him, through prayer, he will sustain us by taking away our fears (34:4) and help us "out of [our] troubles" (34:6). #caring #comforting & #calming

Who doesn't like something new? Living in the past can be a very sad and lonely place that can enable us to move forward and keep us from creating new possibilities and change for the betterment of ourselves and others. Isaiah 43:19 encourages and also challenges us to overcome our past and do new things in order to make streams in the wasteland. #renew #restore & #repurpose
