Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
Here we are, 2022. Happy New Year! As you begin this new year, what words will you follow and use?
John shares with us how certain words can impact our lives; and noted in 1:1, he reminds us that "in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God". It is when we live by the Word that we allow Him to dwell among us (see 1:24), thereby causing us to believe in Him and become his children (see 1:12). So, as you begin the new year, carefully consider the words that you use to make resolutions and live by. #UsingChoiceWords

Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
As we say goodbye to Christmas and get ready to celebrate a new year, what is it that you long or hope for?
For some, it is for Christmas to never end, which does not have to; and for others, it is the eager anticipation of those who await the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ (see Philippians 3:20). Whatever it is that you still long or hope for, may it be for what is good, right and real, such as Him and citizenship in heaven (see 3:20). #ResolveToHope #Know & #BeWithHim

Consider the following questions:
How wise are you? &
What does wisdom offer that tangibles do not?
In Proverbs, King Solomon offers his thoughts about wisdom and says "blessed are those who find wisdom...She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her" (3:13; 18); and when we make a wise choice it is "more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold" (3:14). So, if it is wisdom that you seek, and not tangibles, may He bestow upon you a long life and peaceful paths (see 3:16-17). #MakingPricelessChoices

How well do you know the names of others, especially those that have multiple ones?
Most people are only given one name; but there are those, especially one in particular, who carries many. Be it the Prince of Peace, Lion, Wonderful Counselor, Everlasting Father, conquering King, Mighty God and Savior, they are all one and the same; and above all things, He is "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). So, as you meet others, might you learn, as well as acknowledge, their names and His too. #Knowing & #AcknowledgingAnothersName

When sharing wisdom, how do you communicate with others?
It is how we communicate and respond to others that makes a difference; and it not by using threats, control, arrogance or anger. When we attempt to communicate and respond to others, we are reminded, by Jude, to "be merciful to those who doubt, save others by snatching them from the fire; [and] to others show mercy, mixed with fear" (1:22-23). #Calm #Caring & #Compassionate

Who do you reach out to in times of need?
There are days when we need help; and when such days occur, we have someone who will be there to help and pick us up. It is "the Lord [our] God who takes hold of [our] right hand and says to [us], Do not fear; I will help you" (Isaiah 41:13). Consider allowing Him to be present in your life to give you the strength and help that you need when you need it. #AHelpfulHand

How willing are you to resolve relational tensions?
We are told, in Matthew, to "settle matters quickly with [our] adversary" (5:25); because the longer we let things go unresolved, the worse our feelings, such as anger and resentment, can become towards our adversary. It is when we make the decision to resolve our issues that we are, hopefully, able to move forward. So, whatever it is that you need to or can reconcile, might you consider thinking to do so sooner than later. #ResolvingDifferences & #HavingNoRegrets

Where would we be today, if it wasn't for Him?
It it because of Him who "made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness" (Philippians 2:7) and went on to change the world by healing those who were sick, unclean, and impure, and then died on the cross to save the world from their sins. So, today and every day, consider celebrating the One who allows us to be here to enjoy this day. #HappyBirthdayJesus & #MerryChristmas2021

If life has you unsettled, uneasy, anxious or worried, consider taking a moment, this very night, no matter where you are, and remember why we celebrate this season. It is our Savior's birth, the one who brings light and salvation to "those living in the land of the shadow of death" (Matthew 4:16; see Isaiah 9:2); and that is why He is called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [and] Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6). It is my wish that you experience the peace that passes all understanding (see Phillippians 4:7) tonight and forevermore. #PeaceBeWithYouAlways
