Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

Some may know Him; and some may not. So, might you ask yourself, if interested, What do I know? and What do I not know?, and then go from there. It is not meant to be difficult, but simple. Philip kept it simple by asking the treasurer of Ethiopia the question "Do you understand what you are reading?" (Acts 8:30); and received a reply of "How can I" "unless someone explains it to me" (8:31). When we know what another knows or does not know, then we can help them understand or clarify whatever it is they need help with, including Him. In whatever we say and do, consider keeping it simple; He does. #KISAlways

What causes you to do what you do?

We all have reasons for why we do what we do, as does He, especially when He constructed the tabernacle (see Exodus 39:3); and whatever our reasons may be, Exodus reminds us to do so because we want to and are doing so with an open heart for His glory and not ours (see 35:21), and to not concern ourselves with the end results of our efforts (see 1 Corinthians 15:58). So, might you reconsider your reasoning. #WantTo

Before we know it, we will be gone. As you make your quick journey here on this earth, what will you do with the time that you have? Might you become a mother, father or professional. Who knows. Whatever it may be, I hope that you find your place and purpose, because "the body that is sown is perishable", but for believers "it is raised imperishable" and filled with glory and power (1 Corinthians 15:42-44). May you live your best possible life so that you can continue to live your earthly life in heaven. #MakeItCount & #GodsSpeed

How are you fulfilling your dreams?

Sometimes, life has a tendency to take us on an unexpected journey, on the way to fulfilling our dreams. As you find your way, might you take Him on your journey, because He "will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten...[and] You will have plenty to eat, until you are full" (Joel 2:25-26). #KeepDreaming #WithHim

How can you catch the "little foxes" in your life?

"Little foxes", such as unkindness or jealousy, have a tendency to creep up around us and have the ability to create havoc and "ruin the vineyards", especially if we don't catch them early on (see Song of Songs 2:15). So, whatever is causing issues, might you tend to them early, while they are small, because if you neglect them long enough you won't be able to catch these "little foxes" and your vineyard just might get ruined. #TendToYourVineyard

What are you preparing for? & How prepared are you?

We can not prepare for everything; but there are some things that we can. One thing that we can do is to believe in Him (see John 14:1), and if you do, He promises to "prepare a place for you" and "will come back and take you to be with [him so] that you also may be where [he is]" (14:3). In your preparation, if any, might you consider making Him a part of it. #PlanningAhead & #PreparingForYourFuture

How are you able to spot a "taker"?

Many find ways to be helpful, especially to others, when, in fact, they are truly only doing so for their own personal gain. Such an instance was when King Cyrus allowed the Jews to return, after being exiled, so they could rebuild a temple (see Ezra 3). So, when you are around others, might you have or develop more of a keen awareness of those who may be trying to take advantage of you or someone else. Corinthians reminds us to "not be yoked together with unbelievers" (2 Corinthians 6:14). #DontBeTaken

How can you reach others?

When we demonstrate goodness, such as kindness, mercy and grace, to others, we have the ability to reach others; and it is because of our personal relationship with Him. As the light of the world, He shines his light and love through us so that we can perform such "good deeds", which ultimately glorify Him (see Matthew 5:16). So, when or if you meet someone that models such good deeds, might you take note and consider having a personal relationship with Him too. #BeTouchedAndMoved & #BecomeALightToOthers

Micah enlightens us to why the world, then and now, continues to hurt, forget and not help one another. The lies, violence and "ill-gotten treasures" (Micah 6:10-12) are destroying the justice that the world needs to successfully sustain itself. Micah asks each of us: "What does the LORD require of you?" (6:8). If you don't know, He answers the question with: "To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (6:8). So, if we want the world to be a more just place, we need to consider doing right by one another and be humble, always. #LiveJustlyAndHumbly

When you look in the mirror, what do you see?

It's easy to see others shortcomings; but when it comes to seeing our own, we have a hard time. We only want to see what we want to see. Unfortunately, we are all flawed; but if we look close enough, with honesty and vulnerability, we can see them. So, the next time you decide to say something about someone, might you give a little more grace and "forgive as the Lord forgave you" (Colossians 3:13). #SeeYourself & #LoveLikeHeDoes
