Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
How prepared are you?
The clock is ticking and each one of us only has so much time. As you ponder this question, Matthew reminds us to "keep watch, because [we] do not know on what day [our] Lord will come" (24:42). So, if you choose to be prepared and keep watch, might you consider living each day like it was your last. #NoTimeToWaste

How peaceful is your life?
Today, Palm Sunday, represents a day of peace. It is a day to "see your king come to you, gentle and riding on a donkey" (Matthew 21:5), in order to establish peace among all people. If you have not already, might you seek peace within and anywhere else that you can, especially for all that He has done for you and me. #FindPeace & #LivePeacefully

How graceful are your conversations?
Conversations with others can either be very painful or joyful. It is when we connect with others who enlighten us with their grace that we have the privilege and enjoyment of having a meaningful conversation. So, the next time you converse with another, might you consider "let[ting] your conversations be always full of grace" (Colossians 4:6). #MeaningfulConversations

Where is your home?
My home is with the people that I love and the man who has blessed men with such people. For David, it was with God too. David desired to "dwell in the house of the LORD" (Psalm 27:4), because he had no home for he lived on the run fearing for his life. Know that your home is anywhere that you want it to be; and if you are still searching for one, might you seek shelter with Him, as David and I have. #274PsalmDrive

How do you show others your kindness?
The littlest acts of kindness can leave lasting impressions; be it a hello, good bye, food or even a drink of water, just as Rebekah did so for Abraham's servants and camels (see Genesis 24:17-18 & 19-20). We are encouraged to "offer hospitality to one another...[to] use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms" (1 Peter 4:9-10). The next time you have a chance, might you show and share your kindness to others. #AHospitableHost

How well do you listen and obey?
When we listen and do nothing, we do not hear. We are encouraged to "not merely listen to the word...[but to] do what it says" (James 1:22); and when we do, we enrich our lives and others, along with pleasing Him. So, the next time you look at yourself in the mirror, and after looking at yourself, go away and immediately forget what you look like, (see 1:23-24), might you reconsider how you hear things and act upon them, if necessary, and with good intentions. #FollowingHisInstructions

Who cares enough to want you to be here and do well?
Many care only about themselves and no one else. Fortunately, there is one person who has and will always care about us and our well-being, despite the lack of love from others; because "even before [each one of us] was born, God chose [us] and called [us] by his marvelous grace" (Galatians 1:15 NLT); and, furthermore, will continue to carry on his good work in each of us to completion until the day of Christ Jesus (see Philippians 1:6). Consider letting Him care for you and you for others. #HeCares

How well do you heed warnings?
Some of us would like to think that we can do it all, but we can't. Even Exodus concurs, along with warning us that "the work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone" (18:18). When we try to, we run the risk of burnout, suffering a nervous breakdown or, even worse, death. It is when we heed warnings from those who love and care for us, especially Him, that allow us to avoid such dire consequences. So, if you ever find yourself in this situation, I hope that you hear Him and those who love and care about you, because if you don't, you may not be so lucky when it happens again and with no warning. #TakeCaution & #FindBalance

What keeps you from going to Him?
We all have pasts and sins; and He has seen every one of them. Hence, we are all sinners. The beauty is that "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail" (Lamentations 3:22). Might you consider surrendering to Him and release yourself from the struggles with your past sins so that you may be forgiven and empowered to move forward. #LetHimLoveYou & #GiveYourselfGrace

What will it take for you to ask for help?
As much as most of us want to, we just can't do it all alone, no matter how hard we try. There are times when we need help; and know that when you do, it is okay to ask. We are encouraged to "carry each other's burdens" (Galatians 6:2), because "He makes the whole body fit together perfectly" (Ephesians 4:16 NLT), for we all have something to contribute to each other. You do not have to go it alone. So, might you consider reaching out. #NeverTooProud
