Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior

What are you willing to share?

Many are hesitant to share with others for fear of ridicule and rejection, especially when it comes to their beliefs. Even so, we are still encouraged, by Paul, to "spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere" (2 Corinthians 2:14), regardless of the outcome. Believers know what such good news brings to their lives. So, might you be willing to listen, and eventually share, "the pleasing aroma of Christ" (2:15-16), so that you, too, can see how this good news will change your life in ways that you never knew were possible. #GoodNews #WorthSharing

How can grieving help you to heal?

When struck with an incurable condition, receiving a call due to a tragic death or watching someone slowly die, grief strikes. As we experience such pain and overwhelming emotion, we can still take away the real meaning of these most difficult moments while we heal. Even without words, we can find love, grace and beauty in all the sadness. Helping us to heal, understand and see truth in our grief is Job. He shows us the true nature of his grief, and ours as well, through his testimony, that is "engraved in rock forever" (19:23-24). Might you seek solace in Job's words and Him (see 19:26-27). #FindMeaning #YourTruth & #Peace

What battle(s) are you fighting?

Often, if not every day, you are being tested by something or someone that tries to keep you from growing and becoming. Fortunately, you have someone by your side who is there to help you through these battles and bring you "to fullness" (Colossians 2:10). It is when you root yourself in Him, as he is for you, he will build you up and give you the strength and courage to fight your battles and flourish (see 2:7, 13, 10). #BeAWarrior & #FightTheBattle & #Win

Who makes you you?

He does; because we are "fearfully and wonderfully made" (Psalm 139:14). Not one of us is created the same; for we each were created in such a way that makes us our own unique being. So, if you delight in Him, might you ponder His great works-YOU! (see 112:2). #OneOfAKind

What is a mother?

A mother loves unconditionally, sacrifices much, remains devoted, fights for what is right, weathers the storms and is so much more. Having similar qualities was Paul. Paul served the church "just as a nursing mother cares for her children" (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8). He loved passionately, worked tirelessly and fought for what was worth fighting for, Jesus (see 2:2, 8, 9). So, as we celebrate our moms tomorrow, and if you are fortunate to do so, might you thank them for all that they have done and continue to do for you. #ThanksMom & #HappyMothersDay2022

How are you able to keep your loved ones safe?

There is nothing more important than those that you love and would do anything for; but there are times when you can not be there to watch over and protect them. Fortunately, when you can not be there, He can. For He knows those whom you love very well (see Psalm 139:1-4), because "You have searched me, LORD, and you know me" (139:1). While away, what ever it is that your loved ones need, He will always provide for and protect them. Might you put your trust in Him. #OurEyesAndEars

If you pray, then when, what for, and to whom?

If you are not sure when to pray, what to pray for and to whom, might you consider beginning with "Our Father" (Matthew 6:9). When you begin prayer with these two words, you are reaching out to someone who always sees and hears you and "knows what you need before you ask him" (6:8). #TheLordsPrayer

Why do you serve?

It takes a very special person to serve, one who is willing, selfless and loving. In service, when we reflect such actions, like He does, we are offering "many expressions of thanks to God" for the gifts that He has bestowed upon us to be able to do so (2 Corinthians 9:12). So, as you consider your motives to serve, might you serve so others might praise Him (see 9:13). #SelflessService

Home is...

If you are having trouble completing this sentence, know that you always have a home that is safe, solid and secure (see Psalm 62:2). No matter what, you can always "find rest in God" and "pour out your [heart] to him, for [He] is [your] refuge" (62:5 & 8). Now, might you be able to finish the sentence. #AlwaysHome

How can you avoid liars?

The world is filled with many untruths, due to liars; and one of them is the devil himself. As he tries, every day, to influence and bait us with his lies, John advises us to turn the other way and listen to Him instead. He promises that "if you hold to [his] teaching...you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (8:31-32). #NoMoreLies
