How are the Harbin Hot Springs' Residents coping - in this time of 'national emergency' re the coronavirus pandemic in the USA?

May seek to develop a "how are Harbin Residents' coping?" approach to my actual < > virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic project's focus further in a developing realistic virtual earth / realistic virtual Harbin ... visit the Harbin Hot Springs' gate house here - http://tinyurl.com/p62rpcg (accessible from ~ https://twitter.com/HarbinBook ~ http://bit.ly/HarbinBook) - and "walk" down the road "4 miles" to Middletown, California, and "amble" around the town to visit it in very new ways. It's not possible to go into virtual Harbin here in Google Street View to soak and visit at this point, - and I'm hoping in particular to facilitate this for physical < > digital ethnographic comparison and online study even.
Appreciating too the likelihood of some music-making in the areas around Harbin and Middletown, CA, as ways to cope.

As I look at and think about the beautiful pictures on my Google Smart TV that pass by, both of nature and intense large cities (all very interesting patterns), I see a number of the aurora borealis, and one looks like a tiny community in Alaska (I think) on a body of water (probably ocean) at dusk with the community alit and borealis above a mountain range behind; this gives me a new perspective on community ... These Google Smart TV photos offer perspective on life too in interesting other ways, and make me appreciate where I live in Canyon 94516 for its beauty. Perhaps the Alaskan community, and Canyon's too, are kinds of native communities with all their historical knottedness which Angela Farmer touches on here - https://youtu.be/qQWieQ2s2eM (aka 'Underground Yoga' here - http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html) but am keeping both the Desiderata in mind with regard to my big World Univ & Sch project, as well as a kind of good ethics, and possibly philosophically as well. Some of the other images are underwater, and of turtles and seals swimming too ... am wondering when all of these great images will emerge in an interactive single realistic virtual earth and for science, as well as exploration, and creation. :)

Looking forward to our lesson soon (and am watching out for the differential Daylight Savings' Time - Scotland re US - for Tu March 23, 2020).

Thanks also for singing the hornpipe rhythm out loud (appreciating your skillful knowledgeable piping experience and esp. confidence). I think regarding playing Scottish small pipes this week, I'm going to focus on hearing every note in my mind per

- which I've done a little of in recent weeks, but want to go further.

And how to learn to play both in the manner of the very great pipers PM Stuart Liddell and Gordon Duncan, and in conversation with your playing ... What does it mean for Connor to play as Stuart does, or Gordon did? :)

(interesting mix, and photos too - almost kinda hippy ... where Scots' fiddler Alasdair Fraser who lives in northern California mostly ... is very much a Scottish hippy in 2020 still ... where the 1960s and 1970s, alternative culture, and hippies are an interest and focus of mine, including regarding my actual<>virtual Harbin Hot Springs' ethnographic project ... interesting how culture informs bodyminds especially re Alasdair, for example :)

Greetings! And thanks for your email, and inquiry about becoming an astronomy student at World Univ & Sch for a free-to-students' licensing online Bachelor's degree. To respond to your questions: . . . CC-4 MIT OCW wiki World Univ & Sch is planning to offer first Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees in English, as we begin licensing with the state of California's BPPE, and then accredit probably with WASC Senior (which also accredits Stanford, UC Berkeley, and many other universities on the west coast and some internationally). Regarding your . . . . . . . . . You'll find our 6 initial planned majors here - worlduniversityandschool.org - and I could see a General Science (GSci) major having an astronomy focus, based on https://ocw.mit.edu/ (search on 'astronomy' courses). Conceptually, students would be studying MIT OCW into MITx courses - "MITx Courses and Related OCW Courseware - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mitx-related-courseware/" - and because of MIT OCW's CC-4 licensing (which also WUaS to a) share, b) adapt but c), non-commercially), the degrees would be online tuition-free. (WUaS is planning to seek reimbursement from departments of Education, such as at the state, county or federal level, and along the lines of what it might cost to attend MIT or Stanford). Classes will be online potentially on the edX platform, in group video, and even in a realistic virtual universe for STEM (think Google Street View with TIME SLIDER, Maps, Earth, TensorFlow + and which we'll all be able to help build out as well). "Testing, essays and also teaching" will emerge, conceptually, from the MIT OCW, which has exams, - into MITx - but WUaS wants to grow with hiring live instructors in group video, for ex. - and probably at first, MIT and Stanford graduate students, potentially, who may be on the way to becoming faculty. Regarding your . . ., given that WUaS is very MIT OCW-centric (with its ~2500 courses in English), and much astronomy, and physics, WUaS may focus our upcoming Ph.D.s explicitly in the ~32 departments of MIT, and, at the undergraduate level, possibly follow MIT's lead "Undergraduates interested in an astronomy focus can major in either Physics or EAPS" (http://web.mit.edu/astronomy/).

Thanks for your prompt email reply. And yes I'm very ready to keep your emails confidential, and will. And WUaS will develop with time a privacy policy for matriculated students (probably in conversation with MIT's). And please consider adding a confidentiality statement to your email addresses' signature - I can share example if interested - (and please remember too that emails are like postcards, abd companies' employees may have access to your enlmails, and also a stated privacy policy - and re AI etc esp).

At WUaS while tuition eill be free, there will be book, Lego Robotics' kits and other similar costs, FYI. and yes WUaS is planning to begin licensing soon, and accrediting is a concurrent process, with BPPE, for the autumn, but we also don't yet have the monies for this, yet are optimistic.

On the edX platform, the edX, HarvardX, JuryX course is an example of what WUaS courses will be like there - and they'll also be both synchronous in group video, and asynchronous, and seeking to build on the Conference Method newly online. WUaS's academic year will either be 3 terms or 2 senesters, 4 courses, 40 courses over 4 years, for a free to student's Bachelor degree. Seeking too to build a cohort every year or term of people who know each other, and as a network too.

In your thinking about applying to World University and School, WUaS may also ask for prospective students' social media sites in the application process (like applying to MIT & Stanford, for example). Hi Scott,

Thanks for the message you sent this afternoon. Sounds like you were on a beautiful walk and found lots of other like-minded souls doing the same thing.

Another day here: weather got better as the day went on. Drove into Pgh. and had a chilly picnic lunch with Kathie Logan on a table in Frick park. By sitting at either end of the table and on opposite sides, we achieved 6’ of distance. Saw Maryann, my real estate person, who was also walking in the park. She reminded me how lucky I was to sell when I did; she said the market is completely flat for house sales, and even after she sold one recently, the inspectors were not allowed in; therefore the sale of that house is in limbo. She also told me that the Ayoobs -- house just beyond the Epple’s -- had looked at Frances’ house but Gina decided it would require too much work.

Kathie and I walked about a mile in the park and then I headed home with a drive by of 319 Juniata Court. It looks empty and forlorn. I couldn’t tell if the new owners had moved in or not. So glad I don’t have to worry about that wet basement any more.

Did some weeding in my garden here. I think those of us who have garden areas to work are very lucky. Safe place to be and fun to grow things - practical too.

Sent you a video of a man imitating Trump (Trump impersonator - https://twitter.com/kenolin1/status/1242852430582341639). He got him perfectly, don’t you think? Hilarious, I thought.

Your new home sounds super! (Message I sent this afternoon is below as well). Just got a parsley start recently to begin my garden in a box again, - and may try to fence it in in far corner or porch, with picnic table on its side as 3rd barrier, and then figure out a 4th side. What kind of critters got my veggies last year? And I don't want to invest too much gardening time and energy for when I'm away on Cuttyhunk! More later.

FB has probably generated databases lists, so a collection, in the USA (and other countries???) of a significantly large percentage of such perpetrators (in a legal sense) or offenders, and such lists, in the hands of law enforcement - eg FBI, other federal, or state, county or local police forces (depending on country) - could be engaged to enforce the law or laws of a country (and to further develop law to protect kids and victims, for example).

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the message you sent this afternoon. Sounds like you were on a beautiful walk and found lots of other like-minded souls doing the same thing.

Another day here: weather got better as the day went on. Drove into Pgh. and had a chilly picnic lunch with Kathie Logan on a table in Frick park. By sitting at either end of the table and on opposite sides, we achieved 6’ of distance. Saw Maryann, my real estate person, who was also walking in the park. She reminded me how lucky I was to sell when I did; she said the market is completely flat for house sales, and even after she sold one recently, the inspectors were not allowed in; therefore the sale of that house is in limbo. She also told me that the Ayoobs -- house just beyond the Epple’s -- had looked at Frances’ house but Gina decided it would require too much work.

Kathie and I walked about a mile in the park and then I headed home with a drive by of 319 Juniata Court. It looks empty and forlorn. I couldn’t tell if the new owners had moved in or not. So glad I don’t have to worry about that wet basement any more.

Did some weeding in my garden here. I think those of us who have garden areas to work are very lucky. Safe place to be and fun to grow things - practical too.

Sent you a video of a man imitating Trump (Trump impersonator - https://twitter.com/kenolin1/status/1242852430582341639). He got him perfectly, don’t you think? Hilarious, I thought.

Just got a parsley start recently to begin my garden in a box again, - and may try to fence it in in far corner or porch, with picnic table on its side as 3rd barrier, and then figure out a 4th side. How are you all in this barrage of "coronavirus" memes (the word being imitated by nearly infinite numbers of writers in online media, and threatening disease and sickness)? And what does November 2020 hold for less of this barrage?

I found this article about Sweden to be another helpful antidote, and am appreciative of a number of lines of reasoning in these regards:

... suggests that Hubei, China, the epicenter of the genetic COVID-19 (SARS CoV2) event, is now a model for hope in returning to a semblance of normalcy. Also, there was some mention too of $1,200 / month re B.S. in this - which sounds like it could be the beginnings of Universal Basic Income experiments.

And both Harvard and MIT are holding their graduation ceremonies on the internet which are amazing openings for MIT OCW-centric World University and School -

... and may make possible protecting youth and students in new ways - that is with online education, and somehow culturally. But hopefully too excellent new kinds of university and high school degree education will emerge, in addition to wiki-education for open teaching and learning. How to help facilitate this to flourish in a flowering of new ways, and much regarding conversation?

Am thinking that the culture and identity and language of Sweden in this coronavirus pandemic is a kind of bastion regarding mainstream internet media, and am wondering in what ways World University and School in all ~200 countries' main languages can create similar online 'places' of sanity (ie less fear in the air) or semblances of 'cultural' normalcy, or absence of war mentality, - and uniquely emerging from each of these cultures online. Without knowing German, and reading the German papers, I wouldn't have otherwise found this article about Sweden - which expresses too a kind of alternative, that is, countering the culture of the mainstream internet media as counterculture (regarding novel coronavirus as memes ... in contrast to the novel coronavirusCOVID19 SARS Cov2 epidemic genes) ??? In what ways could CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School generate culture anew, - and in the way Harvard, MIT and Stanford generate knowledge-generation help-the-world culture on-the-ground, I wonder?
