Hi Bryan,

As a follow up, 

I sing baritone and bass (down to the G below the C below middle C) ...

On a frequent walk to the UU Church 1.8 miles from where I live on Arlington Blvd., I was at the Church yesterday evening, and I caught a glimpse and heard a bit ... Seems like a mature group ... In the nice open central entry ... Decent acoustics ... People wearing masks ... Did not feel drawn to dropping in ... 

I may just drop in next Thursday unless I hear otherwise.

Singing together is fun. Just found this very early Unitarian church in Romania - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A2rjiu_fortified_church - also an UNESCO WORLD Heritage Site ... Having seen that Gate from Romania on the far side (forested side) of the UUCB lands.

nice to hear from you.   We do have live, in person choir on Thursday evenings; everyone vaccinated and masked in a very well ventilated space.  Would be happy to have you come join.  This coming Thursday is a maybe, as I'm called for jury duty, and if I have to go, I won't be able to get back from the court house to my place and then over to Kensington soon enough.   Hoping I won't need to go in on Thursday.  The following week, last Thursday of the month, choir is off.  So the next 'for sure' rehearsal is the first Thursday of November.  I'll add your email to the choir list.  Let me know at any time if you prefer to off the list.

Am working on my 2nd piping 'album' now, this of Piobaireachd classical Scottish Bagpiping music; Hippy too, and am seeking to create a new genre of piping music I call 'Piobaireachding the Blues' on the 9 note chanter:)

How are you? How was your time on Cuttyhunk in July? And have you been able to return in the lovely September time there? 

I'm writing to let you know about a possible UU Minister position at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Kensington / Berkeley - https://uucb.org/connection/ministers/ - since Michelle Collins is the interim minister presently, and has been there about 1 year now. The Church is way up in the Berkeley hills, almost at Skyline Blvd, and has been a community since the 1890s. It might be a fascinating and great adventure for you and John, were you to be interested in exploring this opportunity. (And if you applied and got the position, you could always return to New Hampshire in some years, near Cuttyhunk:).

Have been waking up very early in morning here, and warmth is under the covers now that it's cool, so diurnal clock is changing temporarily a bit in this equinox season ...

Too alone here? ... Possibly, but if I could begin traveling to Harbin Hot Springs about weekly (and safely, re Harvard networking) much would change in some ways, movement wise too. More circulation might lead to a partner, but it hasn't, to Harbin, in the past .... Spending 3 months a year in Cambridge MA with a good community might open ways to meeting a life partner by contrast. 

Glad it's so clear and splendid outside maybe due to the cool!

And glad the weather is good for you 😊!

Getting my feet on the ground there in Boston in the spring ... would take a while ... I have a small distributed citified community re World Univ & Sch here, and piping, and Harbin here, and friends, but not that many locally ... 

(Have connected with Susan and Anke profoundly in the past ... others too, in their 20s - and others ... many fair-haired not surprisingly or otherwise ... Such past connectings I think inform my ongoing circulation :)

More possibilities in the Boston area ... but possibly a more complex world to navigate in than living by myself presently ... and the SF Bay Area is more beautiful and warmer ... but perhaps the idea of quality or qualities ... and cordiality and friendliness are much less out here ... Walking into a shop in the Boston area even, for example, might be somehow more connecting possibly than here ... 

I also think with a growing World Univ & Sch that meeting a life partner back east might happen more readily than here ... Yet, my actual-virtual Harbin projects are profound, and fascinating academically, in so many STEM ways, out here ... 

Harvard ... or growing WUaS off the ground significantly from out here ... (and in finding a partner too?)

... Who also built a house in the Oakland hills with Ethan Allen, a Canyon contractor. ... So I think Harbin and Canyon could be safe after time, with this legal and Celtic network ... WUaS might be something Greely is thinking about too ... I think it's partly a social impulse (troop-bonding, to use a John Money word, post Coronavirus pandemic meme 'shut down,' 'lock in' and 'time out' of the past 18 months) but there may be navigating to do. 

Some cars are pulling into the parking lot below - which may be the choir gathering (for the first time?) Am a bit concerned about any possible law breaking ...

So if it doesn't work out, that's fine.

I just saw this article in Geneva's 'The Times' from a Marion from Vevey from your neck of the woods. Do you know her by any chance? How are you? But I can't read this article behind the paywall. Seems like one Bonobos scientist - Hohmann, G - dispelled the myth that they're (Bonobo) pacific or peaceful for me - since he showed they hunt small rodents (contrary to the Dutch Bonobos' writer Frans de Waal I think).

I whistle blew in Canyon 94516 by calling the local Moraga police last September 2020 (having whistle blown in 2017 about the SF Quaker Meeting, and also about Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Berkeley Law, Reed College and Canyon, Harbin too) - and re the illegal sex industry; also received one 'non-creditable death threat,' I'll call this, around 2017 too ...
Am guessing the laws regarding the illegal sex industry in Switzerland are very different from CA and the USA - and also more observed perhaps, Switzerland being somewhat of a law abiding country.

I woke up deep in the morning feeling a little isolated (and for biology reasons too - to go to rest room), wondering about staying in the SF Bay Area or exploring spending

3 months a year in the Boston area? Then received two civil emails from Cambridge Univ Phil and European Anthropology groups re online academic reading and groups, and that my abstract was accepted for the Harvard 'Smartphone's .…' Data science Symposium (re Harbin Hot Springs' STEAM projects) - thanks Jukka-Pekka Onnela ... (http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/10/turritopsis-dohrnii-immortal-jellyfish.html) ...blogging daily is interesting envisioning too ... And received another possible "Keep your focus ... " 'be-mail' from Interfolio which was part of my MIT Media Lab Faculty position application not long ago ... so, psychology-wise, consciousness-wise esp., am still seeking significant positive sociality, social gatherings, friends' groups, partner - with Work World & Univ & Sch too - but isolation dissipates a bit ... So ...

Live in Boston 3 months a year near the Emerald Necklace or Arnold Arboretum for most Green areas and forests, while living daily in a great city (rather than Lexington or Concord)? Or live in Cambridge, close to Harvard? Best! Brookline near the Robb's whom I've known since I was a baby?  ... But in a house?

Then received two civil emails from Cambridge Univ Phil and European Anthropology groups re online academic reading and groups, and that my abstract was accepted for the Harvard 'Smartphone's .…' Data science Symposium (re Harbin Hot Springs' STEAM projects) - thanks Jukka-Pekka Onnela ... (http://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2021/10/turritopsis-dohrnii-immortal-jellyfish.html) ...blogging daily is interesting envisioning too ... And received another possible "Keep your focus ... " 'be-mail' from Interfolio which was part of my MIT Media Lab Faculty position application not long ago ... so, psychology-wise, consciousness-wise esp., am still seeking significant positive sociality, social gatherings, friends' groups, partner - with Work World & Univ & Sch too - but isolation dissipates a bit ... So ...

Live in Boston 3 months a year near the Emerald Necklace or Arnold Arboretum for most Green areas and forests, while living daily in a great city (rather than Lexington or Concord)? Methods: A) brainwave headsets will be used to further EEG brain research, as these then stream new data via WiFi into one realistic virtual earth with avatar bots into their electronic medical records (planned for 7.8 billion people on planet, each a Wikidata Pin #). This research has a long term horizon, as chips, sensors and I.T. develop, and virtual brain body mind software for modeling, iterate. B) Subjects will also, in smartphone technology into digital masks, view, and interact with, actual and virtual hot springs, e.g. for immersed Harbin visitors. C) Wristlets such as the Apple Fitbit 5 will be used to study meditation effects building on the relaxation response (Benson MD 1972) in warm water, at Harbin and in bathtubs, relating to oxygen levels in the blood. Thanks.  I don’t give much thought to aging reversal and I am curious about your interest in it.  To what end?  Yes, I do love life and fully intend to live to 100, but aging reversal seems a bridge too far and not sure it’s worth pursuing.   What am I missing??

If there's some possibility that we could reverse aging per Harvard & MIT Professor of Genetics' George Church in this 60 Minutes' minute-long video  -

Since life expectancy has declined for a broad swath of the US population due to regular 'ol health concerns, let's hope all the federal agencies that have a hand in public health work towards universal health care before we worry about extending life expectancy for the part of the population that can afford to live to 90 .

It occurs to me further to explore even a 4 year (CC-4 MIT OCW-centric somehow) Bachelor's degree in Bagpiping, say in, https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Scottish_smallpipes_and_borderpipes - in the Music School World Univ and Sch - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Music_School - with you as the faculty member to start, so on the degree side of WUaS (in contrast to the wiki side). WUaS would need students (experienced high school pipers from Fettes?) to somehow commit to 4 years studying from home for these free-to-students' degrees (from all over the world), and piping could also be a 'minor' or a 2nd major, for example. (That is an undergraduate student could major in Computer Science, and minor in Bagpiping). WUaS would work out the number of credits needed, and the distribution requirements, with time, if WUaS could move ahead with this. :) WUaS would also seek to develop a faculty job description for associate professor of, or lecturer in, Bagpiping, with possible creative directions for you to move forward with. I'm seeking for WUaS to have inspiring, caring, connecting and excellent professors (along the lines that Harvard (even with its Celtic roots / depth), MIT, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford have developed as cultures, all for over a century now) ... and to create a somehow out-of-the-box flourishing learning and teaching environment online (which the Google platform will help with esp. in part). - and am thinking too much like MIT with Wikipedia, and even some Quaker colleges (like Haverford and Swarthmore, in the Philadelphia area which attract highest achieving many US students, who have some orientation to Friends' or Quaker envisioning and SPICES caring, yet are in the modern world, post 1960s too:)  ... all brainstorming-wise ... (Explore developing or or coming into conversation curriculum from Carnegie Mellon University or the The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow? )

How to move this forward and for WUaS to begin to hire faculty, - with WUaS matriculating students, say even as early as January, - will depend on further communication with Fettes College in Edinburgh in one scenario, potentially, - and am not sure exactly how to do this. OUR WUaS CC-4 MIT OCW STEAM degrees are a priority, and you can see some of our WUaS Bachelor and PhD majors here - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/ - but if Fettes were to help organize these free-to-students' undergraduate Bachelor degrees for Fettes and Scottish students among Scotland's ~5 million people (and later PhD degrees) further in the Google Workspace for Education, then perhaps we in conversation could pick just a few majors from ocw.mit.edu and re the Google Platform too (WUaS was thinking in terms of offering 6 majors until not too long ago).
