Harbin Hot Springs itself is a bit bodacious :) Who here has visited Harbin Hot Springs? :) (It's my actual-virtual ethnographic field site, next book potentially printed from text-in-the-sidebar or Google Street View with Time Slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlowAI, Translate, with realistic avatar bots even, such as Samsung Neons, aka artificial humans ... and potentially in a new book format too - #wuAsVR Virtual Reality book :)
Just shared this (email below re UUs, Friends, and Harbin Heart Consciousness Church) with some of you re seeing your 'stuff' at Harbin Hot Springs, and found one paragraph from my 324 (8.5x11 inch) book which touches on the 'stuff' word twice:In its warm pool and valley as place, Harbin's counterculture, as “social” sociocultural processes, involves connecting and interactions between more than one individual (as a defining characteristic, too, of emergent virtual worlds like Second Life these days - Boellstorff 2008:92), in the pool area, particularly, which is very visually oriented. Harbin's warm pool adds and complements many familiar and normative sociocultural processes in modernity, with clothing-optionality, a warm aqueous environment, and a counterculture, where people are free to cuddle and love each other, naked, outside and in a beautiful, natural place, or simply soak alone together with others in the Harbin warm pool, also all very visual, partly
because talking doesn't occur, for example, in the warm pool. And in many ways, people see their own stuff at Harbin, that is, they see people they are uniquely attracted to, for example, or natural aspects of Harbin such as (what I call) the Dragon ridge from the warm pool on the other side of the valley, or the fig-tree-over-the-warm-pool's little jeweled treasures suspended from its branches. But Harbin in its hippy and Gestalt-Center-with-hot-springs' origins is about seeing the whole, and, even more, living this in the now in “Living the Future,” (Ishvara 1996). To know Harbin involves all visitors and residents being (anthropological?) participant-observers – Seers, with a capital S in the Upanishads (Prabhavananda 1957) - in the pool area, for example, - in the going into and out of the pools, naked, and in the now. And
this visuality informs, socioculturally, the Harbin-family, and the Harbin property as land and territory for this tribe of residents and visitors. In this interpretation, Harbin is partly about seeing/being our naked, attractive, natural selves, as well as seeing our own stuff, as human primates (an idea which not many people have at the fore of their minds) in the New Age, at ease in the pools, which the 1960s significantly opened the way for, counter-culturally. p.91

PSAgain,I looked up Yoga in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and interestingly found an article on emotions in Yoga - https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/concept-emotion-india/ written by http://faculty.salisbury.edu/~jptuske/ - and which ('feelings' ... and re Yoga) is a focus of Angela Farmer (from whose Yoga circles, I'm a dropout, in a 1960s' sense, along with VvK's) ... but regarding WUaS seeking to make psychiatry and 'talk therapy' easily available online (as information technology too, which can have an effect on 'brain' processes, per perhaps French psychiatrist psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan MD's oft cited observation that "The unconscious is structured like a language") ...

What to do for 7.8 billion and UBI Experiments if the electricity goes off, even if most people will have UN smartphones or similar in 20 years? Hmm ... What do you think?

Warm greetings, and I hope this finds you well! How are you?
Feelings, and feeling them, are an interesting exploration in the context of Yoga (which I've learned a bit about, as a dropout, in Angela & Victor's Yoga courses) ... regarding 'what comes up' (perhaps a Friendly Quaker thing too ... re a kind of 'leading' - as a 'meme' - 'replicating cultural unit' - among Friends ... ie when one is moved to do something by a 'leading' ... which, as a Non-theist Friend, I'm newly construing not as by some notion of 'spirit' or the 'divine' but possibly by some idea of inner Light (re creative envisioning to see and feel by) ... and where World Univ & Sch itself is a kind of Friendly leading, as I've written about in my blog over the years ... ) ... But Angela's explorations of feelings with Yoga & asana-informed movement play are more hippy, than Iyengar Yoga (I-anger some have called this), with amazing envisioning in the Yoga unfolding that occurs in A&V's courses ... and which may have gone awry, or astray, losing the benefits of possibly the title of Spike Lee's 1989 movie 'do the right thing.' And yet Yogini Angela Farmer going into Angela's 'stuff' and also modeling this for the people who come to her courses, as a kind of teaching, and with her remarkable poetry of visionary freeing Yoga, artistically too ... is something I learn from, and re how far and uniquely and creatively I and people can go in exploring feeling, and more.
But feeling feelings in the sense of an Angela and Victor Yoga course context (somewhat hippy gathering creative artistic Yoga), or in the Harbin Hot Springs' warm pool (where Angela has taught a women's retreat at Harbin for many years), is perhaps a new 'leading' re Friendliness for me ... Or also in Unitarian Universalist spheres too (at least how I'm thinking of this ... and recognizing that this Harvard-trained, Massachusetts' born UU Minister Paul Sawyer ... https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/20... .(with pictures here too the UU Church of Kensington Berkeley).. invited the Grateful Dead to play at an UU Church in southern California in 1966 - and that UUs as Liberal Religious Youth (LRY - or little red Yogis, I've heard this called too:) have likely been exploring feelings - in a liberal religious context - for many decades, and in a variety of ways ... )
And doing Yoga asana explorations can bring a balance too to what comes up (wildnesses?) when exploring feelings ... both potentially with healing benefits (where some forms of explorations of feelings can involve speaking about them in language ... i am thinking here of Yale trained George Alexander MD's Lacanian approach to psychiatry and psychoanalysis, as a family friend, having shared Xmas dinners for about 23 years with him and his family), and 'grounding' benefits.
I appreciate the tie dye liberation of exploring feelings in creative new liberating ways while playing with Yoga movement ... Unitarian-wise, Friends' wise, and Heart Consciousness Church (Harbin)-wise .(not yet as a realistic virtual Harbin -

Would it be possible hypothetically to take away psychiatrically sick, predator Stanford medicine's abraham verghese's access to Google Maps (and his telephone capacity too), which I've seen from Ed, also a MD, that Ed can use it to rendezvous with me, see where I am remotely, track me in a sense (ie it's not secure or private from my individual's end user's perspective).
Saw toward the end of my walk (just ~1 mile up to the 3 tennis courts) yesterday evening, the black-rimmed, "bespectacled, academic looking, potentially friendly .." guy walking by ... For around the fourth time ... Per my email from 6 days ago below, and very speculatively (from a group network identity perspective), could a sick verghese pick up his phone, call this guy, after I've been out on a walk for a while, and could this guy drive over from his house in the neighborhood, and start walking to cross paths with me ? ... And could on one of these walks, he be supplied with a firearm from sick verghese, whose international illegal sex industry (with stanford medicine and the US uniformed services) world may be tumbling down around him, end my whistle blowing permanently?
How to prevent against such a scenario hypothetically - since you, Ma, began this email thread with an observation about my friend Ed Smyth MD's mental illness? Sick verghese could seek, hypothetically, with the tools at his side, with his hypothetically failing career, his history of crimes and even murders, to lower the risks of evidence against him re me, given the chance. SPECULATIVELY, how to take such a chance away? Remove access to computer technologies, and other tech (weapons? - this is America, re constitutionally protected) in his control? After my stopping attending Stanford Medicine Grand Rounds a few years ago (while waking up at 5 am to drive to Stanford for networking for WUaS's ~200 planned online Med Sch's), and after sick verghese was lurking around Stanford Law when I was there (Greely, Vogl were Stanford Law Profs I emailed at the time about this), and after verghese tried to frame me in his office (all very kooky stuff ... And illegal sex industry hypothesis makes sense here), - around the time I had an interview with chair of Stanford Medicine's Bob Harrington MD, and I was still living in Canyon 94516, - further speculatively - I fairly frequently heard these planes buzzing overhead, and wondered whether verghese even (mahaffey and other MD wing nuts there too) could be a Stanford Medicine contact with the US Military (re money and medical planning for US uniformed services) in the SF Bay Area too (re related recent hypotheses, I've shared with you), and 'maintaining air superiority' re a very hypothetical illegal sex industry he may be a snakehead of (t wylie in Canyon too?). If sick verghese is no longer in some of these roles, but could still be at Stanford in one way or another have access to Google Maps and his phone and his ethnic group's network (Ethiopia and NE Africa), he could surreptitiously and speculatively plan such psychiatrically ill events. When whistle blowing about him and Stanford university a few years ago, I wondered in writing whether he would benefit from seeing a psychiatrist.
I still haven't heard back from Stanford faculty senate president Tim Stearns about my whistle blowing either. And am living in a 'safe house,' and basically in poverty - and seeking to speak truth to power in a Quaker sense too here (re further whistle blowing).
Am not seeking to be a victim, but am also a bit of a Yoga teacher re all this 'seeing' or 'envisioning' or thinking or synthesizing or writing (ethically esp) too - so, further evidence needed, ... way beyond my whistle blowing (over a number of years now(. Stanford's a very smart place - ethically and unethically ... And when a hypothetical illegal sex industry is 'at the top' it'$ difficult for law enforcement or state of CA lawyers (and post NON-refall election) to get a handle on it.

Makes me wonder further about hotel law - and re say universities' dormitories (say at a Bryn Mawr or at a Dartmouth) in the summer break, and whether they could be considered inns ... and whether furthermore, any scofflaws there, in the name of profit, could cultivate the illegal sex industry over decades even ...

Mental health diseases are just like all other diseases. I don’t see them as negative — just a part of the human existence. They occur within all populations everywhere the world, every professional group, everyone in general. They are largely treatable, thank goodness, just as most other diseases are, for the most part. Nice that Ed shared some of his own experience with you; sounds like he’s a good example of what physicians are trained to do: dx and treat. And, as with everything between friends, comes the matter of trust - so congrats on earning that trust from him.

Mental health diseases are socially constructed by the MD medical, and insurance, professions, just as biological diseases are socially constructed, but constructed scientifically by different kinds of scientists (than MD psychiatrists) re biology, chemistry, physics' inquiries ... and more research is needed, and newly in the Information Technology age,
Glad too that E shared some of his experiences with mood medicines (for seizures otherwise) with me.

I wondered how they found the "7,782 real-world users" - and how many of these were MIT students themselves - for one, and why, in this good paper, they didn't seem to say how they found these game players, regarding high retention rates.
The paper, or game, also doesn't begin to address questions of language, the unconscious etc.
How too could this and related emerge in a realistic virtual earth for gaming, for example.

I scrutinized some of the links I shared with you ... and am still a bit wary of Gaming- Virtual for mental health, and regarding the possible misuse ... It's Fast Companies' 3 articles that seem to offer the most 'promotion' of this ... and who might be 'behind' Fast Company ... and could such an App also be used for harm too in a number of ways?
I haven't found critiques of this game, and it would indeed take much knowledge to be able to critique it effectively ... Are we seeing a kind of 'scientism' in the 'academic paper'? WUaS would seek to perhaps take other approaches to psychology and gaming ... re even academic scientific rigor.

Furthermore there doesn't appear, for example, to be a focus on language, but rather behavior ... which would be a real deficit regarding data generation ... and what computing is doing well with, namely Natural Language Processing, and AI and machine learning. ... and even re language as information technology, re the potential for 'talk therapy' by MD psychiatrists to change brains through communication for example.

Eventually, WUaS may head for this URL - http://worlduniversityandschool.edu - ... but it used to be that this followed on full accreditation. Nancy, since BPPE and WASC senior licensing and accreditation are up in the air, do you want to explore to see if WUaS can get a .edu suffix without accreditation? It could be an interesting inquiry. And WUaS seeks to build out in WUaS Google Workspace for Education with WUaS Wikidata in its 300 languages (Wikipedia's back end structured knowledge database which WUaS is in), WUaS Wikibase, and WUaS Miraheze Media Wiki ... all students and WUaS volunteers a Wikidata Pin #.

Electric power just went out here ... unusually (in the 'safe house' I'm staying in, but feels similar to power outages in Canyon 94516, where I lived for about 13 years (and who flipped the switch? And why? Or?) ... Can't microwave the coffee, but soft boiled egg is cooked thanks to the gas stove. Smart Phones work with battery and internet but laptop's wifi router is off.
Regarding UBI Experiments for 7.8 billion people in 200 countries, UN mobile phones for refugee camps in east Africa for example? ... And possible UN bank cards for digital transactions ... without using electricity? ... What to do for 7.8 billion and UBI Experiments if the electricity goes off, even if most people will have UN smartphones or similar in 20 years? Hmm ... What do you think?

Yoga and feelings?
I looked up Yoga in the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, and interestingly found an article on emotions in Yoga - https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/concept-emotion-india/ written by http://faculty.salisbury.edu/~jptuske/ - and which ('feelings' ... and re Yoga) is a focus of Angela Farmer (from whose Yoga circles, I'm a dropout, in a 1960s' sense, along with VvK's) ... but regarding WUaS seeking to make psychiatry and 'talk therapy' easily available online (as information technology too, which can have an effect on 'brain' processes, per perhaps French psychiatrist psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan's oft cited observation that "The unconscious is structured like a language") ...

In teaching Yoga a bit, I explore questions of ideas of feelings, and what comes up too here ... http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html ... and on the 'writing' hippy bus too (but not too much in physical or actual Yoga classes on-the-ground ... although it could be an interesting focus in online Yoga classes, but I also haven't taught this, or seen this taught online successfully yet ... having explored taking an online course with Angela a few months ago, after which I dropped out of their A&V Yoga circles ) ! :)

Seeing one's 'stuff' at Harbin Heart Consciousness Church (and UU Church, and Quakers) ~
Harbin Hot Springs itself is a bit bodacious :) Who here has visited Harbin Hot Springs? :) (It's my actual-virtual ethnographic field site, next book potentially printed from text-in-the-sidebar or Google Street View with Time Slider, Maps, Earth, TensorFlowAI, Translate, with realistic avatar bots even, such as Samsung Neons, aka artificial humans ... and potentially in a new book format too - #wuAsVR Virtual Reality book :)
Just shared this (email below re UUs, Friends, and Harbin Heart Consciousness Church) with some of you re seeing your 'stuff' at Harbin Hot Springs, and found one paragraph from my 324 (8.5x11 inch) book which touches on the 'stuff' word twice:
In its warm pool and valley as place, Harbin's counterculture, as “social” sociocultural processes, involves connecting
and interactions between more than one individual (as a defining characteristic, too, of emergent virtual worlds like Second
Life these days - Boellstorff 2008:92), in the pool area, particularly, which is very visually oriented. Harbin's warm pool
adds and complements many familiar and normative sociocultural processes in modernity, with clothing-optionality, a
warm aqueous environment, and a counterculture, where people are free to cuddle and love each other, naked, outside and
in a beautiful, natural place, or simply soak alone together with others in the Harbin warm pool, also all very visual, partly
because talking doesn't occur, for example, in the warm pool. And in many ways, people see their own stuff at Harbin,
that is, they see people they are uniquely attracted to, for example, or natural aspects of Harbin such as (what I call) the
Dragon ridge from the warm pool on the other side of the valley, or the fig-tree-over-the-warm-pool's little jeweled
treasures suspended from its branches. But Harbin in its hippy and Gestalt-Center-with-hot-springs' origins is about seeing
the whole, and, even more, living this in the now in “Living the Future,” (Ishvara 1996). To know Harbin involves all
visitors and residents being (anthropological?) participant-observers – Seers, with a capital S in the Upanishads
(Prabhavananda 1957) - in the pool area, for example, - in the going into and out of the pools, naked, and in the now. And
this visuality informs, socioculturally, the Harbin-family, and the Harbin property as land and territory for this tribe of
residents and visitors. In this interpretation, Harbin is partly about seeing/being our naked, attractive, natural selves, as
well as seeing our own stuff, as human primates (an idea which not many people have at the fore of their minds) in the
New Age, at ease in the pools, which the 1960s significantly opened the way for, counterculturally. p.91

And maybe for the steep bits of the trail, step onto your nearby stairmaster machine, for more benefits of more movement - hopping off your elliptical machine ... and if you don't have either of these machines, maybe you could explore walking in your neighborhood while I'm on the trail web streaming through my digital glasses' camera ... and maybe you could also stream from your digital glasses' camera into our shared 'backpacking trip' ... so I could explore adventuring in your neighborhoods ... while you were on the trail near a Sonoma beach on the Pacific ocean (which I may try to find right now ... but not camp out tonight ... but perhaps on another adventure, since I'm recalling that it is possible to camp out there:) ... but you'd get to sleep in your own beds at night, while if I do this overnight in some weeks, I'd be on a thermarest camping pad with 2 sleeping bags, under the stars :)

Bodacious Bay Sonoma California :)
Tym!Hi thee from near Bodega Bay - north of there at a place I'm calling Voracious Bay or Bodacious Bay - beautiful, a bit gray and overcast but no rain. As I came into Bodega, I saw a guy putting out a Honey sign by the side of the road. I know him a bit from Harbin, with honey colored hair too, & I've seen him at the Berkeley Bowl too ... Bee keeper I'd guess ... Nice guy (old hippy with short hair, knows Harbin folks ... Small world ... Back to a kind of connecting world here up north ... Lots of hippies once were here in the 60s and 70s and things may not have changed much for their offspring ... And in the Salmon Creek State Beach pull off, I saw a very cool trailer house, with a dream catcher coming out of the roof, pulled by a white pick up, with a number of surfboards in the back. He was getting one out to go surfing as I passed by ... Picture attached. ... And two 20-something yo women passed by separately in parking lot too ... Seemed possibly interesting ... And more than I've seen of a possible eligible type in a long time ... Not quite for me ... But these Sonoma coast parking lots could be a good place to bring a friend were we starting to connect ...since there might be a group of people around sympatico-like.
Can't invite you to put your smartphone into Google Cardboard to check out this Viking Strand beach turnoff where I am now, if you happened to get one before they were stopping this spring, and if it's not raining where you are (since it could melt outside in the rain:) - and to head outside on a walk together, since I can't stream into a mutual virtual earth, for hiking together virtually ...

Just back at my 'safe house' north of Berxerkrley ...
And as I drove past this Salmon Creek State Beach south, the hippie trailer's little skylight with its dream catcher seemed closed, and it was inside, but the front hood of its white pick up was open, as if it have had a break down ... May have been a 'tocket' too to overnight there :)
Surfing & dreamin' ... and realities of car break downs ...2 sides of a hippie coin! Not mining Stanford Mine Pi yet (and which I haven't seen can buy anything yet either)
North of there, I re-found the trailhead for a great hike I took a year or two ago, from Shell beach in Sonoma, to a place called the Poma camping area ... and then by car thru a very beautiful back road, ... And I found the Poma camping area at the other end. Perfect short backpacking trip, or as alternative, a good place to car camp overnight on a weekday even :)

Just back at my 'safe house' north of Berxerkrley ...
And as I drove past this Salmon Creek State Beach south, the hippie trailer's little skylight with its dream catcher seemed closed, and it was inside, but the front hood of its white pick up was open, as if it have had a break down ... May have been a 'tocket' too to overnight there :)
Surfing & dreamin' ... and realities of car break downs ...2 sides of a hippie coin! Not mining Stanford Mine Pi yet (and which I haven't seen can buy anything yet either)
North of there, I re-found the trailhead for a great hike I took a year or two ago, from Shell beach in Sonoma, to a place called the Poma camping area ... and then by car thru a very beautiful back road, ... And I found the Poma camping area at the other end. Perfect short backpacking trip, or as alternative, a good place to car camp overnight on a weekday even :)

I created my first Scottish Small Pipes' album of light music (Ceol Beag) last year, and am planning to create my first album of Piobaireachd (Ceol Mor) potentially by year's end. Glad to be taking lessons with the great PM Stuart Liddell in Argyllshire presently. If it's real, it's pretty dramatic ... but not FDA tested, and regarding the bodymind as a whole, and regarding the long term, - and we still don't know whatsoever, as far as I know, how to extend the human species past 122 years of age (eg Jeanne Calment, the longest documented living person in France, now deceased in the 1990s I think). Caveat emptor, and far-reaching philosophical skepticism have much merit here. Very speculatively, if this first picture is real, and it could be a relative, or similar, who's a geneticist scientist, or similar, experimenting, this could be ethical, fascinating, a remarkable learning opportunity ... with many many risks.

I created my first Scottish Small Pipes' album of light music (Ceol Beag) last year, and am planning to create my first album of Piobaireachd (Ceol Mor) potentially by year's end. Glad to be taking lessons with the great PM Stuart Liddell in Argyllshire presently. And World Univ & Sch is seeking Fettes College (where I studied in the first year 6th form in 1977-78 students to matriculate online at WUaS for free-to-students' online CC-4 OCW-centric Bachelor, & PhD degrees, and eventually law and MD degrees too, in the New Year and beyond, first in English, then potentially in Scottish Gaelic if helpful and with AI machine translation, and machine learning).

If it's real, it's pretty dramatic ... but not FDA tested, and regarding the bodymind as a whole, and regarding the long term, - and we still don't know whatsoever, as far as I know, how to extend the human species past 122 years of age (eg Jeanne Calment, the longest documented living person in France, now deceased in the 1990s I think). Caveat emptor, and far-reaching philosophical skepticism have much merit here. Very speculatively, if this first picture is real, and it could be a relative, or similar, who's a geneticist scientist, or similar, experimenting, this could be ethical, fascinating, a remarkable learning opportunity ... with many many risks.
