Your email to this Yoga Mac Flower address leads me to seek to revisit these Hippy Anjali Yoga Notations, http://www.scottmacleod.com/yoganotations.html (written somewhat from a hippy perspective) - where I've also dropped out in a 1960s' sense of Angela & Victims' (Victor's) yoga circles.
Appreciating too 1) Angela Merkel's Christian roots since her father was a pastor, and having also (while living in Germany in 1981-82 - in Scotland in 1977-78 too, and became a member of the Religious Society of Friends in Scotland in 2003-04, but with Non-theist Friends leanings too) become a bit familiar with this Christian culture of Germany, and 2) Angela Merkel's roots in the former eastern Germany (ehemalige DDR) with its sincerity (Ehrlichkeit) and very different culture from the West, being very separate socioculturally for about 40 years from western Germany from 1949-1990.
But doing & teaching Yoga (with certificate in CA) ... And with Dad's full support of my pursuing Yoga (re cultures too I think, appreciating his individualism and free thinking ... And regarding much long travel for learning immersively from other cultures) ... hasn't led to connecting with a life partner, yet, and for kids.
Seeking further in California to create a kind of culture at CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School which emerges also from the better Christian cultures of Friends (QuakerQuaker), Unitarian Universalist, and possibly better aspects of Yoga (and Hindu too?) cultures, learning-wise, but people-wise too especially (and re democracy-thinking too).
Playing, learning, teaching the Scottish Small Pipes involves engaging in cultures of music ... With their own good sides which are ways of connecting and expressions of profound beauty - even loving bliss generation, beyond joy & happiness, together via sound and communication - but which also also have their downsides.

Dear Larry and Kim, Ma, Pin, Tym (who 3 have visited me in Canyon), Jim, Henry, Sandy,
Thanks for asking or talking about this 'Next Door' 'classifieds and community' 'web neighborhood' platform when we were going out to dinner in the car in Pittsburgh PA earClier this summer, Larry and Kim. (And thank you for bringing this up - am not sure why you brought this up, but i'm glad you're thinking about this). Here's an example of what I get, but possibly a little less with 'hints of aggression' in it, than most of the others I receive in spam ... from having signed up with Next Door last summer from Canyon 94516 - with their at the time beautiful cottage for rent ('truth in advertising' questions) on their homepage (as we talked about) - when beginning to look for a place to live, a 'safe house' (at my mother's suggestion).
And on Thursday as I was walking up to the UU Church and emailed all of you, a little 'parade' of vehicles of what could be Canyonites drove by, with 2-3 gray painted cars (which is a curious cultural 'expression' of Canyon, and none 2 obvious way of disguising the color of a stolen car), two big motorcycles, one with slightly obvious pop-like music playing, and some other vehicles. And living in a 'safe house' (from perpetrators, offenders, purveyors of the international illegal sex industry, I hypothesize, - & in Canyon too esp) I wondered whether this was a parade or even a funeral - New Orleans Dixie land style even - and what the significance could be of them coming from a 'rendezvous' at my next door neighbors even, to the north, who could even be on the wider Canyon rogue-like community side of things. Canyon CRITTERS, in their numbers, can get 'into' things, in the night, for ex., and vandalize etc. And what would happen 'safe house' wise if their 'critter vandalizing' started coming across the fence even somehow in the future ... and per my mentally ill perpetrator offender criminal previous landlord (tom wylie, as well as Ivan the terrible Schneller, and chester the rid, and 20-190 others, some of whom may be even more deeply disturbed as well as invested in the gains if a intl Illegal s x industry ... and even julie adams and bob hartley of harbin hot springs, 2 hours away ... where this parade had a dramatic flair feeling echoing these last 2 key - and potentially quite sick - people at harbin). I don't think there would be much I could do about it ... Some further thoughts in some of these regards -
So, as federal and state law enforcement MIGHT BE playing their Game of GO (surround the other sides' colorful stones, and remove them from the board), are the 'rogueys' playing the game with slightly different game rules (any ones they can make up on the terra firma board of NorCal in this questioning), both potentially armed, and neither perhaps Quaker, UU, Yogic, or otherwise common sense non-harming or similar? And what if they intermingle - and do drama performance or performativity (a social science / anthropology concept, post-modernity wise esp.) well - a hypothetical 'gray car motorcycle parade' of both sides, and everything in between ... and what if it was a funeral for another 'kid in a box' too ... very very speculatively, the rogueys flaunting their stuff ... and letting us know about them ... as well as tracking them with some kind of 2021 Google-Apple Coronavirus tracing App etc.? Am not clear why you brought up the 'African's trash in Europe' example re Germans, and am not clear either about why you shared a long letter about 'waste management' following this (and re abolition questions esp.). Neither the WUaS Corporation, nor World Univ & Sch has expressed any interest in waste management whatsoever, and while I found one course at MIT OCW on Waste - https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/edgerton-center/ec-716-d-lab-waste-fall-2015/ - and more on nuclear waste, there aren't any wiki subjects at WUaS yet with this focus, and this 'waste management' isn't a main focus in seeking to develop a realistic virtual earth for STEM for example. Please read some past Minutes (and blog entries) to see where WUaS is coming from (Quaker / Friendly-wise) and where WUaS seeks to head.

I was a bit concerned about our conversation today, re your comments toward the close ... and regarding to my WUaS's ongoing call for the abolition of the illegal sex industry, as WUaS seeks to grow wiki schools for speakers of all 7,139 known living languages, in all ~200 countries, and then to create a list, brainstorming-wise of all 7.8 billion people, each a Wikidata Q-item number or Wikidata Pin# in all of Wikipedia's 300 languages. Here are some of what I wrote to WUaS colleagues in these regards -

"Let's end the creation / generation of victims (just had a slightly unsettling talk with Fritz Lebowsky in Bavaria, whom I met at Stanford, who at the very close seemed to be making a racist allusion about Europeans not liking Africans generating trash in Europe ... to which I responded that, metaphorically, the issue of abolition for me would be how not to create victims (as 'trash') - or trash here possibly (or if Africans signed on entry papers to Europe that they wouldn't generate trash, they could enter a country, or for everyone to be able to visit other countries in virtual reality so extraordinary that it was better than going there in person, learning-wise for whatever reasons they might be traveling) - in the first place).
"And while abolition law enforcement - and IT and new IT law - may be partly an English-language British-American-informed thing as I'm conceiving of this, there are quite different sensibilities, laws, legal histories, histories etc ... etc. in Germany for example ... i am reminded of Fritz's comments that they could refer too to Americans (not Africans) sending or 'exporting' 'broken women' - so American victims of the illegal sex industry, for example, to Europe re his trash comment ... for example ... Seeking to generate a flourishing WUaS learning conversation, in all 200 countries' languages - and which addresses questions of abolition of the illegal sex industry - as well as legal protection and help for victims - say 'trash' culturally in a sense via not only psychiatry, but also financially through something like Stanford Mine Pi UBI experiments to end poverty worldwide for all 7.8 billion people ... as potentially the WUaS Corporation could list Stanford Mine Pi on the new Silicon Valley Long-term Stock Exchange. Much of today's conversation was about possibly Stanford Mine Pi and cryptocurrencies - and even how to reward good teachers and teaching ... culturally and IT-wise for example.

Am seeking to reply to some of your points here -
The "Howey Act"? Seeing, hearing, and thinking about you and your talk reminded me a bit of both Fettes College, Edinburgh, Scotland, where I as an American, studied in 1st year sixth form in 1977-78 (and I just received a Fettes Community email this morning, maybe un-coincidentally), and lived in Kimmerghame House there (and played in the Fettes Pipe Band), with George Preston as housemaster, and later keeper of the Old Fettesian records. With a last name like Johnstone, might you be a Scot, or have Scottish ancestry? (I wrote a little ZIS Stipendium paper in 1981-1982 on Bagpiping in Scotland, having taken a workshop with the very great and merry piper, Duncan Johnstone in Glasgow).
Seeing, hearing, and thinking about you and your talk reminded me also of Quaker circles I've moved through; there was a 'Howie' (I don't recall his last name, but who had lived through the 1960s and '70s I think too, and identified as a Quaker, with an interest in community too, for ex.) at Pendle Hill, Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation, SW of Philadelphia, near Swarthmore College, as a co-student, when I was a student there for a year, in 1987-1990/91 (following that, I worked in its Pendle Hill bookstore / Publishing House for about 2.5 years). Seems highly unlikely there's a connection regarding the Howey Act, since it was written around 1933, but one never knows. And does Roland have any Quaker background? When I lived in Munich, Germany, and in Garching too, in 1981-1982 ... (at the end of my year studying there in a Reed College program which met both in Olympiazentrum, and at LMU), I was quite involved with Friends, and lived with the Eckhart Krueger family toward the end of my 13 months there. Munich Quakers I think would know Austrian Quakers since they're probably in the same Quarterly / Yearly Meeting, and proximate too. As a philosopher too, any relatedness in these regards?
Glad your person-to-person face-to-face teaching is starting up again, and that it's "really refreshing after more than a year of online classes." In what ways is it refreshing for you, given a person-to-person face-to-face vs just face-to-face (in video-conferencing) distinction? I find refreshing the possibility of two-three channels of communication in video conferencing (group video/voice and group text chat) re the seminar idea in universities (in contrast to the lecture idea), and also very refreshing the access to great talks like yours, and other engaging brilliant professors and teachers, from halfway around the world. And I was hearing you from the SF East Bay, not Stanford. Am curious a bit ethnographically to learn of your thinking in these regards. But I also feel somewhat isolated after the self-quarantine of the past 18 months, and wonder about this too, even regarding how to generate connectedness online. my aspirations at present are somewhat more modest.
first, i’m merely hoping to help policymakers see why applying financial regulation, such as the howey test, is not sustainable.
second, to develop the line of thinking in my book that the financial regulatory approach has failed to achieve key regulatory objectives (such as de-risking, consumer protection, and providing a legal enviromment that facilitates business).
our teaching semester started this week, which will keep me somewhat occupied running my LLMCR programme and teaching a couple of courses. here in HK we are now back to face-to-face teaching, which is really refreshing after more than a year of online classes.

Are you continuing on with IBM in some capacities too? Are you seeing some non-IBM-career travel ahead of you? I hope retirement is going well for you; it can be such a big change in one's life, I've read and observed. And are you the founder of this, in some ways, with its service focus in particular? (It doesn't look like it's possible to register for this at this point, and it may take place very early in the morning here, but do you know if it is possible to attend some of these sessions virtually at this point?)
Just this morning, I was wondering about your thinking too about preventing illicit use of World Univ & Sch's planning to code for all 7.8 billion people on the planet - and for related WUaS businesses, - each a Wikidata Pin # or Wikidata Q item #, and also to potentially distribute a single cryptocurrency via Stanford Mine Pi via UBI experiments to all people to end poverty, dovetailing with developing wiki free university education potentially for all 7.8 billion people - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/You_at_World_University - in each of all 7,139 known living languages; And also regarding our Actual-Virtual, Physical-Digital planned educational services' stores in all 200 countries, and in speakers of 7139 known living languages. Doing more for ISSIP.org work, working on my next book on service science, and helping my wife Diane with her two year long to-do list. See my slideshare website for my latest thinking - I tend to think about a topic, give a talk about it, and then write a paper.
Naples Forum is almost over - but plenary talks are recorded - let me try to find the link and send it to you when I find it. Their website is not the most intuitive - and I get lost when I visit their website.
I know nothing about crypto-currency and keep my distance from them.
Not interested (yet) in life extension - seems likely to be an important area in the coming decades for sure. Not something I know anything about yet - other than eat right, exercise, stay active, and stay positive. I am the most optimistic person on the planet (my wife says), so I am good in the positive department.
Hang in there! WUaS will become a reality as the technologies get better to enable it. The vision is big and ambitious - so struggles along the way are a natural part of getting there.

Thanks too for the 'news' that WUaS may be waiting for the information technologies to develop! 14 years or so now ... Not clear when it will be possible to hire faculty, for example, and it's not clear too when WUaS will be able to remunerate the people who continue to do the work ... (Larry Viehland, MYSELF, so far pretty much).

Aging reversal beyond living beyond 122 years' old?
This is what Harvard MIT Prof of Genetics George Church is heralding, and big pharmaceutical companies, and universities too, may have begun to martial their R&D resources in these directions in recent months significantly.
And did we jumpstart the genetic engineering revolution further over the last 18 months?
The rewards are remarkable.
Am hopeful Work World Univ & Sch can add further aging reversal genetics' tools in 1 realistic virtual earth for everything (esp. genetics and evolutionary biology).

It being the 8th of September, when the USPS said they would get, via a certified first class letter costing $4.53, the Form 100 tax returns from 2017 for the WUaS Corporation (WUaS's 3rd legal entity and a for profit general stock company in CA) to the CA Franchise Tax Board in Sacramento, when the due date was September 7, 2021, and I posted this on 9/2/21, and their 1) internet and 2) phone systems didn't work, and it took about 6 days to go from just north of Berkeley CA (where I'm living in a 'safe house' sadly), with Monday a holiday, to Sacramento (about 2 hours by car) ...

So I'm glad to write that the letter - which was a repeat of what the WUaS Corporation sent them in April - got there on September 7th. Modern communications' systems are anxiety producers sometimes ! (Is this what some social scientists might term as an example of alienating processes?). Yet, since this is the 2nd CA state legal entity, it could have been good for lack of confusion in the state of California's databases to mail this on paper, and at this time ... since the 2 together offer a far reaching opportunity, with WUaS planning to be in 200 countries, both actually and virtually, physically and digitally, and in 7139 languages - and even plan, brainstorming-wise to code for all 7.8 billion people on the planet.
Would rather be 'dialing in' in the Harbin warm pool as I continue to seek to develop text in the sidebar in Google Street View publishing both to paper and to #wuAsvR books, and an academic press at WUaS in 7139 living languages with machine translation ... and in GDocs ... with Google Translate ... and maybe even in conjunction with the new Google Store in NYC, - but actually and virtually, in many countries.
On the positive side, Jim Spohrer got back to me that the technologies that WUaS is seeking to develop in aren't built yet ...
