Short post today. Long fun and relaxing weekend with Brandon Peterson, who is up here for a store signing at “Cards, Comics & Collectibles” comic shop.
Now, we’re both chilling out and trying to get our comic covers done.
I’m trying to get a giant “X-Men” cover finished while Brandon’s trying to get his “Guardians of the Galaxy” cover.

Savage Wolverine #5 Is Out TODAY!
- FRANK CHO: Savage Wolverine #5 – click to view full image -
Attention, fangirls! My final issue of Savage Wolverine storyline is out today in all finer comic shops. And it is epic.
How epic?
Well for one, Wolverine and the Hulk battle it out in this issue, and Wolverine does something to the Hulk that you always wanted to see.
And second, in this issue, TWO major villains are introduced who may have a massive repercussion throughout the Marvel universe…
VISHER-RAKK, the second Galactus and MORRIGON, its herald.
That’s right, first appearance of TWO major characters in the Marvel Universe.
I don’t want to spoil anything but Savage Wolverine #5 may be the most important comic to get this year.

Thank You Phoenix Comic-Con
- FRANK CHO: Jungle Queen – click to view full image -
Damn. Is it hot here on the surface of the sun called Phoenix, Arizona? How and why anyone wants to live in this hot place is beyond me. It’s hot. It’s Africa hot.
That being said, Phoenix Comic-Con was cool.
Cool and AWESOME!
It is by far the most organized and stress free convention that I’ve been to all year. Everything was well thought out and executed well in advance. From the menu email of the green room to pick-up from the airport, nothing was left to chance. All the volunteers were knowledgeable and professional.
It was packed all weekend. The fans were friendly and easy going. It was great seeing old friends and make new ones. (Big hello to Officer Marko and Officer Julie – Two of the coolest police officers I met this side of the Mississippi.)
I also enjoyed hanging out with my booth mates, Ivy Doomkitty and Dave Turner, and new friends Max, Kystal and Richard. We managed to catch “Star Trek Into the Darkness” between our busy schedules. (My favorite movie of the year so far.)
I could go on and on but I’m too exhausted from the show and I have an early flight to catch.
All in all, a fantastic convention from start to finish. I hope to do it again next year.

Another Jungle Queen piece for my new Jungle Queen sketchbook.
