I had to pull double duties and work around the clock but I made it. The new Jungle Queen themed sketchbook is at the printer right now.
I should get the color proofs Monday or Tuesday. Once approved, the printer will have my books printed and at my doorstep in about two weeks – which will give me just enough time to re-box them about 600 copies and mail them out to the San Diego Comic-Con.
I just hope to Jebus that there’s no mistakes in the color proofs.

New Sketchbook Cover Image

I just got the final colored cover image from my new colorist, Pez, and all I can say is “Wow”. He really knocked it out of the park. I love the light and shadow on the figure and how he painted the fur on the lion. I’ve already got him working on the next pin-up.
On the sketchbook front, it’s a tight race. I’m trying to have the Jungle Queen themed sketchbook ready for San Diego Comic-Con next month, but I need to finish up two pieces to fill the 64 page sketchbook. I might have to skip the inking stage and put in the unfinished pencil image to meet the deadline.

Marvel finally announced my secret project. It’s X-Men: Battle of the Atom.
Here’s the first wrap around cover, beautifully colored by Marte Garcia.
I can’t say too much since Marvel Comics has me in a strict silence mode but Brian Bendis wrote another nail-biting story full of action and twists. I hope that I can translate all that excitement visually on paper.
X-Men: Battle of the Atom #1 will be out sometime in the Fall.
