Summer Work

I’m hard at work trying to get my next sketch book out. It’s a Jungle Queen themed book. I just finished this Jungle Queen fishing pin-up. But I’m still shy few pages in filling up the sketch book.

I’m trying to get the sketch book done by end of July, just in time for the rescheduled Boston Comic Con in early August. However if I hustle my ass, I may have it for San Diego Comic-Con in mid July.

Wish me luck.

Charlotte Heroes Comic-Con 2013

Frank Cho jungle queen

Fun but very unusual show so far. Heroes have expanded their show floor and the aisles are wide and easy to navigate. The fans are great as usual but the overall feel of the show was different. The lobby bar at the hotel was packed every night with fun people and lively conversations.

Few things of note happened:

1) I signed my first boob of the convention season. A lovely gal with a great sense of humor and body.

2) I signed my second butt at the show for the year. (Jen you are a dynamite gal through and through. Ben is a lucky guy to have you.)

3) A hairy guy dressed as Wonder Woman wanted to kiss me but we settled for a hearty handshake during a photo op.

4) There was a Republican Party convention happening at the same time as the comic convention. There were funny insults thrown from both parties throughout the weekend. (Never seen so many hot young women married to so many old white guys. Yes, money DOES matter.)

I’m going into the show late today. (Sunday.) Been feeling sick all morning. I’ve been fighting convention crud since Saturday.

Art of the Day:

One of the commissions from the show. Jungle Queen Vs Crab.

Frank Cho’s Secret Marvel Project

Frank Cho cover art

First of all, I want to thank everyone for giving my Savage Wolverine a try. I hope that you guys enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing and drawing it.

Now, people have asked me what’s coming up after my Savage Wolverine run. Well, gang, Marvel will announce it soon. In fact, I’ve just received the full script this week and just started drawing it. It’s a doozy.

Here’s the partial image of the cover of the wrap around cover.

Let the speculation begin.

*****

I’ll be at Heroes Convention at Charlotte, North Carolina, this weekend.

I’ll be sitting in AA-1503, near Neal Adams and Brandon Peterson.

I have no idea what I’ll bring to sell since I’m sold out of everything. As for whether or not I’ll be doing sketches at the show is up in the air.
