July 9th 2023 Update

So, not a lot to say at the moment. There’s slightly more than a week before the release of Talyn: Unyielding, and I’ve spent much of the last week trying to rest and recover. This coming week will likely be more of that, though I’ll admit that some of it will be spent on going over the edited manuscript, formatting it, uploading it to Amazon, and all of that sort of thing. That should only take half a day, though.

This month will be further complicated by one of my wife’s best friends coming...

July 2nd 2023 Update

I’ve sent Talyn: Unyielding to my editor, and they say they’ll have it back to me well before when I need to upload it for its release. This means that I’m able to take a long-awaited vacation that with any luck will be truly relaxing. I don’t know what the next project will be yet, I’m too focused on resting, recovering, and deciding what to do first. With any luck I’ll be ready before the book comes out, but we’ll see how it goes. I hope you all have a wonderful week!

June 25th 2023 Update

My final edit of Talyn: Unyielding is underway, and I should be sending it to my editor at the end of this week. As such, I’ve updated its cover, description, and release date. It will be releasing on July 17th, 2023. I don’t have any idea regarding the audiobook release date, unfortunately, just that it’ll be several months down the road at a minimum.

June 18th 2023 Update

I’m busy this week, but I thought I’d at least share an art piece, since Talyn: Unyielding will start its second editing pass this week!

My Patrons funded art, and based on the survey I took recently, I gave several options for them to vote on. I was honestly surprised that of the options, Moon & Star beat out Tammy & Timmy, Alaseenah, one of the Guardians, and even Fya! June 11th 2023 Update

Talyn: Unyielding is complete! Or more accurately, the rough draft of the book is complete. I hope to finish the first editing pass in the next few days, then I’ll send it to my alpha readers to review for structural problems, then I’ll dig back into it next week, hopefully finishing my further editing passes by the end of the month. Then it’s off to my editor! With any luck, I might manage to publish by mid-July, but no promises.

June 4th 2023 Update

Talyn: Unyielding is up to about 137,500 words, and with any luck I hope to finish the rough draft this week. This is especially important because the following week is going to be pretty busy for me with family stuff. It’s gone on longer than I expected, which isn’t too much of a surprise. My books tend to do that!

May 28th 2023 Update

Talyn: Unyielding is up to about 125,000 words, and I think the end is in sight! I’m guessing I’ll finish the rough draft next week, but there’s no way to be sure until I get there. I’ve enjoyed the story, even if it’s definitely more slice of life than anything else. For those wondering about the release date, I can’t say for certain, but I’ve given myself a hard deadline of mid-August at the latest. I’m hoping for July, though.

May 21st 2023 Update

Talyn: Unyielding is up to ~112,500 words, despite me having to deal with the sound of a jackhammer this past week. The price of needing to replace the front driveway, among other things. No promises on a full week of writing this coming week, since I’m not sure how disruptive the remainder of the work will be.

I do think that I’m getting closer to finishing the rough draft of the book, though the exact length is up in the air. Denny Ibnu should be starting the cover art in the next few days ...

May 7th 2023 Update

Talyn: Unyielding is up to approximately 95,000 words, and I’m rather happy with how it’s coming together. It’s more of a slice of life story, much like Talyn: Rebirth, but I expected that. There’s never been much of an overarching plot to the series.

In other news, my wife and I are taking a bit of a staycation this coming week. As such, I don’t expect to get a lot of writing done. With any luck it’ll help me recharge, and I might be able to finish the rough draft by the end of the month. Wh...
