January 7th 2024 Update

This week didn’t go as planned, unfortunately. In fact, it didn’t go well, as I managed to hurt my wrist on Monday.

Seed of Chaos is up to ~94,000 words. I effectively got a bit over 6,000 words of writing in, or half of my typical amount. Here’s to hoping I don’t injure my wrist again, because that sucked. I really wanted to get more writing in, but alas, such is how things go.

Happy New Year, 2024!

Another year, more retrospective and looking ahead! Let’s go over what’s happened, and what lays before me, shall we?

I made five goals last year, completing two and partially completing the other three. The two I succeeded at were completing three books and putting money aside for research trips. I’d hoped to write more books, but they were a little long, and losing my brother (and several other more distant relatives) didn’t help. The three I didn’t complete were the sequel to Embers of War...

December 31st 2023 Update

It’s the end of 2023! That means its time to reflect on the past year, but first, progress report!

Seed of Chaos is up to about 87,500 words. which is less than I wanted, but Christmas really threw me off my game this week. Something about how it went just kicked my butt, so I wasn’t able to focus on writing for most of the week. I’m not sure how this coming week will go either, but we’ll find out.

December 24th 2023 Update

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Seed of Chaos is up to about 79,000 words and climbing steadily. I’ll be skipping my usual writing tomorrow, unsurprisingly enough, but the story is coming along well! I’m hoping to finish it by the end of January, but maybe it’ll wrap up faster. We’ll see how that works out.

I’m not sure how things will work out for the following projects just yet, It’s a toss-up whether I’ll write Talyn or Through the Fire next, but I’m leaning toward Talyn, just to keep a stead...

December 17th 2023 Update

I’ve been on a roll, and Seed of Chaos is up to about 63,000 words! If I keep this up, I may get just ahead enough that I’ll make up for taking Christmas off. I never expected my wife getting a record player to increase my productivity, but it’s oddly helped add a more effective rhythm to my life. That is welcome, honestly, though we’ll see if it lasts. A couple of other things I’ve tried have only given temporary boosts, so… we’ll see how it goes.

December 10th 2023 Update

First off, Seed of Chaos is at about 47,500 words! Not much more to be said about it, Evelyn is being Evelyn. Things are progressing, and I really need to put up a pre-order. I expect March or April for a release, I’ll probably set the pre-order for April just to be safe when I do so.

Tantor Media is going to be producing the audiobooks new Through the Fire trilogy as well! Contracts are signed, I sent them the manuscript, and everything is progressing along those lines there. As part of it, ...

December 3rd 2023 Update

It’s December, last month of the year! I’m hopeful this one will be more restful than last year, and at the moment it looks like it will be. Still, let’s discuss my progress, shall we?

Seed of Chaos is up to approximately 32,000 words, and I’m pretty happy with how it’s coming along. It’s hopefully a return to the more episodic sub-stories that I had in Chosen of Chaos, at least for the volume… but we’ll see how long that lasts. November 26th 2023 Update

As I expected, this week didn’t see me writing much, what with Thanksgiving happening. Visiting my family ate three days in total, so Seed of Chaos only reached about 18,000 words, but I’m having fun with it! I shuffled around some sections of it to make for a more engaging story, so there’s that as well.

Obelisk of Blood has launched to moderate success as well. Nowhere near as much as Eve of Destruction or Talyn’s Saga, sadly, but it’ll do alright I think. I’m in discussions with Tantor Med...

Obelisk of Blood Released!

Obelisk of Blood should now be released! As I’ve mentioned before, this is book 4 of the Through the Fire series, and is set two years after the events of Obelisk of Blood. Word of warning, it takes about a dozen chapters to really get going, as I needed to catch people up on what had happened over that time, and set the stage. The rest of the book ended up insane, though. I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please consider reviewing it!
